If you know what you are doing when taking photos, it doesn’t matter what phone you have, photos will still be edited, as for the rest, all of you will use snapchat or TikTok or instagram filters anyway, and majority of people can’t even detect the difference.
To be honest, I prefer the Samsung footage a majority of the time. Sure, Night Video on the Selfie camera isn't great, but on the main camera, it is clearer and more natural looking. I am looking forward to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra as the Camera System can gain a significant boost with AI... I am not sure if the sensors will be new. We shall see!
I had the S24 Ultra and changed for Pixel 9 Pro XL, mainly for the camera. I've been a bit disappointed tbh, so I will buy the S25 Ultra in January. I wasn't tempted by the iPhone 16 Pro Max this year. Honestly, overall, the S24 Ultra is better here. Great comparison as always, thanks from the UK Devon ❤
I saw a few pro photographer reviews, and they said that to get great photos on the iPhone in daylight, dial down the exposure between 0.7 and 1 and make sure the settings remember the last use. At night, you may want to dial that back a bit. So, there is an easy solution to the dynamic range issues. I understand that reviewers use default settings to critique, but these days, it is easy to get the look and quality you want on all phones. For example, on Xiaomi, I switched to Leica Natural as I prefer the less vibrant shots. So, although these comparisons are nice, they are irrelevant for me as I buy a flagship, so I can take the photos I want with a little tweaking. On the base, mid-range, and lower flagships, yes, default camera tests are more relevant as buyers may not be as pro-camera as flagship users.
I would even say the opposite since I have both phones. The S24 ultra has a poor selfie camera, unlike the iPhone 16 pro. Samsung lacks natural colors and clear detail. Regarding the screen, if you start a 2k hdr video, in my case it was 4k hdr japan on RUclips - the iPhone has louder speakers and a colorful screen. Video at night, the iPhone won, the camera on the Samsung showed a blue tint, while the iPhone showed real colors.
Overall nice job, I like the background music, would be nice if you had a co host. I think both phones did well at different things, some of those daytime shots from Samsung were really nice and iPhone 16 Pro is better at low light, I'm sticking with my S24 Ultra because it has more features, flexibility, and options.
I think samsung better on day photos and a little bit in video, camera(s24u) more detailed than on the iPhone 16 pro and the Samsung’s camera have a more correct tones but in videos at night iPhone absolutely better. And about microphone, microphone better on iPhone. So now I wanting a samsung s25u and I hope they fix situation with a darker camera and do microphone better
The iPhone videos look overexposed because they’re shot in HDR and not converted to SDR (the format of the RUclips video). It makes the comparison misleading.
as a pixel owner the iphone pictures came out real bad so washed out . samsung day pictures and video look great at night is a different story the iPhone takes better pictures
There's clearly something wrong with your phone, there is no way the iPhone is so terrible. All other reviews i've seen show it to perform the same if not better in some cases
Yeah I think a lot of these RUclips videos they make one look worse than it actually is I can’t find a honest review about what phone I should get I have iPhone but I thought the camera was better on s24 but I can’t find the evidence on RUclips to make the switch.
While the iPhone is washed out in the car video, never will I go back to the iPhone, last phone was ip 14 pro, what I have right now is the S24 ultra which is now superb with the September update. With natural color and one of the best white balance. iPhone gave a yellow cast while my s24 ultra gave a natural white and blue color with the image.
i don't like the iphone pictures or videos, there is something wrong there the pictures are too bright and loosing many details , i think the HDR there is very bad!! Don't know if that is HW or SW related!

It's a bit of a toss up. I do like the Samsung in some instances, but overall I think the iPhone 16 Pro performs best.

How did you deal with the awful post processing?

As usual samsung image are processing are many times too artificial, but sometimes good,
Samsung video way more better, photos sometimes with increase saturation but it's even nicer for social medias, no need to use extra filters
While zooming on the s24 ultra there's such a noticable jitter and cropping it's just bad.
