I really appreciate you all of the other videos are in Spanish you are the only person with English content that I have found so far is that you’ve done them 4yrs ago but I still appreciate it
Thank you 🙏 I am glad my videos are helping you. If you have Facebook you can join my group facebook.com/groups/mochilastylecrochet/?ref=share_group_link
I am wondering what brand of crochet hook you use please? It looks like it has a nice, sharper point than I mine have. I have only the Boye and also Bates brands.
I make short tutorials to show parts of the technique. I sell patterns for Mochilas on Ravelry.
You are the best of all the tutorials for these bags. I can’t get anywhere near as neat as you but I am watching closely to see Wenatchee you do. Why is there 8, 10 or 12 stitch increases. Is it to get a flatter bottom? Mine bows like a bowl. ❤️
I somehow missed your comment, sorry for the late reply. Everybody crochets different. A few people can make a flat and firm bottom with 8 increases. Most people need more increases. Unfortunately there is no program to make bottoms with 10 or 12 increases. That is why all patterns are with 8 increases. If your work looks like a bowl with 8 increases, you probably need 12 increases.
Lorianne Palmer You have to look at the pattern and see where it is best to make the increases, so the pattern will look good. I explain where to place the increases in this video, ruclips.net/video/7QsJqfme9ts/видео.html. In my Facebook group, Mochila bags crochet, we have many bottom patterns where the increases are marked. In the group you can always ask me to mark increases for you.
Kjersten Kreutzer I recommend mercerized cotton, 125 meter per 50 gram. For example Scheepjes Catona, Schachenmayr Catania, Camilla Ice yarn, Patons Grace
@@MarionVerloop so it would foremost need to be fingering weight? But you recommend 100% mercerized, is there a reason? Does it make for better hold up? Thank you for your reply, also!
Kjersten Kreutzer Unfortunately fingering or sport weight, ply or other names for the thickness of the yarn, do not always mean the same per country. Sometimes it even means different things per brand. That is why it is better to check for 125 meter per 50 gram. Oh and make sure it is cotton yarn and not cotton thread. Mercerized cotton does not fade when you wash it. And mercerized cotton has a beautiful shine.
Patricia Taplin I bought the stitch markers at a fair. I did a search, did not find much. I found this site www.dennisdeal.com/products/100pcs-mixed-colors-copper-knitting-crochet-locking-stitch-markers-latch-needle-clip
Thank you so much for sharing. I have been wanting to try this but I was wondering, how do I know when to use the yarn under technique versus the normal single crochet? I'm seeing both of these stitches in several tutorials. Thanks so much!

I think it depends on the multiple of the pattern repeat.

How do you have a constant increase without messing up the pattern and with more than two colors?
Lorianne Palmer You have to look at the pattern and see where it is best to make the increases, so the pattern will look good. I explain where to place the increases in this video, ruclips.net/video/7QsJqfme9ts/видео.html.

Loving this...can l use any type of yarn
Anita Hall I recommend mercerized cotton, 125 meter per 50 gram. Check out Scheepjes Catona or Schachenmayr Catania at Woolwarehouse.
Thank you but do you have a video for extreme beginners? I don't understand what you mean by making an increase in the next stitch. Thanks
N HW No sorry, I do not have videos to learn how to crochet. There are many videos to learn how to crochet on RUclips.
How much yard do I need to order to complete a bag?
About 10 to 12 skeins of the recommended yarn.
Mercerized cotton, 125 meter per 50 gram.
Thank you! Very good tutorial 💖
What weight of yarn do you recommend?

@@MarionVerloop yes I did!! Thank you for already having it covered!! I was wondering, how long does it take for you to finish a bag (strap and all)?
Vergie Page Not counting designing and frogging, it takes me at least 100 hours to make a bag. Those hours are spread over several months.

I wonder... Is that a ring or a medical stuff you have on your left thumb ?
Yazdhena Belyakova Yes it is. It is a silver splint. It prevents my thumb from bending 90 degrees the wrong way.
