    Paul I retired from a pool store and I would recommend changing that filter to a small sand filter. Those paper filters are not very effective and most people deal with algae issues when the heat comes. They may work for a small stock tank but a sand filter will save you hundreds of dollars over time. If I may add, please use an oxidizer in the tank to keep it clear. It will eat the skin oils and bacteria in the small body of water and keep it crystal clear. I love the idea of having a stock tank for something to cool off in and I had many customers who did so with great success. You did a great job explaining the process! One more thing! The pump should run one hour for every 10 degrees weather per every 10 thousand gallons
    .

      Awesome info. Any chance you would provide brands/part numbers for these modifications please? Thank you for your input.

      Would you recommend using a pool liner?
      Maybe one you could change out every other year.
      I've heard some are insulated.
      Great idea about the sand filter.

    I remember the original video! glad you got it set back up. We installed an above ground pool in the backyard last year ourselves. Kerri insisted she get some sort of pool since I got a shop, tractor, and mower, hahahah. It was during my phase of not wanting to do any videos after the lightning hit the house and had no computer or anything. We went with a 30' diameter pool that is 2 feet into the ground.

    Have you ever seen where the pool is too thick for the gasket for the incoming water wont go past the air spout to get screwed in? I have a Behlen Country 625 gal Poly Round Stock Tank. I was thinking i will need a different nut that is not so thick or notch out the nut to fit the air spout. Of all the things to run into.

    • @ProjectsWithPaul
      @ProjectsWithPaul  5 месяцев назад

      No I have not. You can get an outlet without the air spout, that might help. Maybe you could use a palm sander on the outside off the pool to evenly bring down the thickness. Good luck and thanks for watching.

    Can you use the drain hole with an adapter to connect to the pool filter instead of drilling two holes?

      It would be difficult to find something that would seal up.you would be better off just hanging hoses over the side. Thanks for watching

    Excellent videos. Would you please post the Intex fittings needed. I have searched eBay and Amazon but the pictures do not look like the threaded intake and exhaust fittings you have. the only show the hose clamp ones. Thank you.

    Thinking about doing this to replace our jacuzzi. This would be better for our needs.
    Wife can’t use the jacuzzi because of the heat.
    Plastic holding up well in the sun?
    Seems everything thing here (SC) made of plastic becomes brittle.
    I’m thinking I will go over the top with piping to eliminate drilling through the side.

    • @ProjectsWithPaul
      @ProjectsWithPaul  Год назад +1

      Yeah holding up good so far. I bought it in 2020 and it's always been outside. I pressure washed it this year and used a little bleach on the stains and it looks as good as when we bought it. Thanks for watching.

    How many hours do you think I should run the Flowclear 58664e with four hoses for a Rubbermaid 300 gal stock tank? Cant find anything on internet or Bestway. Also, how many chlorine tablets do you recommend?
