  • In this 2018 video, we visited an apartment in the development, known for its 'Brutalist’ style of architecture. Golden Mile Complex has just been gazetted as a conserved building for its “exceptional standing as a rare and iconic landmark from Singapore’s initial years of post-war nation building.” Read more: str.sg/3cLa

Very glad that this building will be conserved. This is a triumph for local architectural heritage. Golden Mile Complex, along with other gems like Peoples' Park Complex, were groundbreaking developments full of hope and imagination in an age when Singapore was just beginning to succeed. Every time you demolish a building, you remove all the stories that accumulated within its walls, and you excise part of what makes a place what it is. You can't build a national identity or a social memory if you ruthlessly bulldoze everything the instant it stops becoming profitable.

There was a local docu drama that said that this place is haunted and its a portal to the underworld.

Golden Mile Complex people knows if like I have ideas of on top of rooftops to have toilet that can be tents, like a working move to sleep close to workplace, how to do it? Like people don't care and let an attack carries on, it's been solo life to live this experience more than 10years, if just work anyway is smthg, the colour also looks very knowing-around about s.g I wonder how to just get the promised security pass(3mths n.s then became 2 years then get: s.c.d.f)?

    Asking for 3.5 mil?
Does he even know that a new freehold condo 200m from Orchard Mrt is 3.5mil.
Realistically speaking, he should be asking around 2mil. 2.2mil max.

He asking only aim high then let agent bargain down. If aim at expected price the agent will bargain until below market price.

⚠️ Smart developers will bid for SLA State land closer to Kallang basin ! For one, the billion dollar views will NEVER be blocked !
Old memories can be captured in videos instead of the decision to conserve Golden Mile building ! Not a wise decision based on the greater good of Singapore growing population of 6.9m !
Time to demolish the building to make way for new iconic development ! Recycle the concrete using new technology ! The design & layout of Golden Mile building is NOT well suited for young generation of buyers ! A lot of void wasted spaces for nothing !
⚠️ Potential developer should take into consideration that the billion dollar views will be blocked by future developments nearer to Kallang basin !

Sad. Your love of money is rotting your brains and making it impossible to see the cultural value and inherent worth of pioneer developments like Golden Mile Complex. They were truly groundbreaking structures full of hope and imagination, and it is worth every penny to keep them around as part of our conceptual library. Thankfully, people like you have lost this time around.
