She's ready for wings for Marie... This was awesome! Thanks you guys
Wings for Marie is a must
I agree. It has to be done.
No one is ready for wings for Marie
I cry every time.
That opening song!
The transition between disposition and reflection is such a treat, thank you for not pausing it !
A+ job for using Spotify on these. Hearing the smooth transitions done right is kinda the point on these.
Audio quality is sooo much better too!
The album reaction should be done with Spotify as well.
I think reflection is the single greatest tool track. Both musically and lyrically.
Some of the most beautiful lyrics ever. Pure poetry.
Agreed! I could listen to Reflection on repeat for the rest of my life and it would be a blast!
I agree
absolutely agree
Descending still takes the #1 spot for me, but Reflection and The Grudge are the next 2 in my ranking.
What I really love about Tool, besides the great writing and them being geniuses at their crafts is the fact that Tool has a special sound. You hear the first few notes of a song and you instantly know it's Tool.
Disposition is related to Schism in that I think it's about communication. "Mention" is a yearning request for the other to provide information (this/something/anything), and "The Weather" is the mood of openness/connection/understanding built and achieved through the sharing. "Please talk to me so I can become less cold to you."
These are the kinds of songs you just let play through uninterrupted with authentic reactions. Then once done you reflect on your disposition throughout the triad.
Please dive into Maynard's other bands. Puscifer and A Perfect Circle both have amazing discographies!
Reflection is such a good song. I will randomly get Triad's guitar parts stuck in my head and I love it
Disposition is my favorite of these because it's so laid back, you basically just melt into your chair listening to the music and Maynard's voice. Soothing.
Stoned?
@@alpo6668yes 😂
@@Gideonite only way to deeply listen to Tool
Absolute wizards of the sonic landscape, just unmatched in my opinion! Really enjoyed this one y'all!
Lots of beautiful sounds on Disposition actually come from the bass guitar. This is true for many TOOL songs.
Justin is a legend ❤
@@Gideonite Paul too
I don't have a favorite Tool song.. it's impossible. But if i could only listen to one song for the rest of my life, I choose Reflection.
Every time they said pieces, my brain was like, “I KNOW THE PIECES FIT!”.
lol I had the same thought while editing 😂
Awww yeah, The Holy Trinity. Dis gonna be good
I'm not completely sure, but I always thought the lyrics for dispositions are "mention something mention anything, mention this to me AND watch the weather change."
Not that it's definitive but to me it is clear that's the meaning. Even if there is no actual AND he does mean that. The weather changing is his/their mood. That is a common expression 'weather changes moods' (also used in a Nirvana song)
Yesss I know Val is gonna love this before I even watch it : ) Some of my favorite Maynard lyrics. I'm saving this 45-minute session for this evening when I can curl up on my couch with headphones and a glass of wine!
She’s gonna hate Ticks and Leeches 😂 that’s probably their heaviest song
I think she will get the irony 😂
I think Rosetta Stoned would like a word 😆
the grudge says hold my beer @@patriciahofer8704
The Holy Trinity ❤
Also, check out 10,000 days/ Wings for Marie together.
I'm curious to see if Val cries after listening ??
✌️❤️
Isn't there some track sequence to build up to Wings? Jimmy? Judith from APC?
@@heyskipj Jimmy, Judith, etc
I ve always considerated the holy trinity like this: 1) disposition: the preparation, put your self in the right state to descend in the middle of urself, slow down; 2) Reflection: reflect on yourself, at the very middle of your body...the voice of maynard seems to come from your belly, from your chest and soul; 3) triad: the ascent to the everyday life, the come back to "reality" and the mess and chaotic life surrending us
So disposition to me is essentially saying ...break the ice of conversation, communication....the weather tends to be a topic amongst adults when we are a bit lost for words or subject matter...while also being a metaphor for our own changes in life....and the moon is the reflection of the sun.....such as we all are just reflections of our upbringing and surroundings so know that we depend on others while also enjoying individual experiences....but we all need eachother for the bigger picture in many different scenarios
Triad - the engine room of the universe
The perfect description as I feel my energy and testosterone shoot all the way up whenever I’m working out to Triad !
Danny reprises the Reflection beat in Fear Innoculum after the first chorus
Tool is above all other bands. Masters
Reflection is a masterpiece
No one makes an album like TOOL or FLOYD!
Think you could put Radiohead in their as well
This light is not my own and… A million light reflections… Pass over me…
When this album first came out, I was going through some shit. When I first heard Refliction it changed my life really. The lyrics are so profound, and the music is like a mantra. It will always hold a special place in my heart. Great job as always guys ❤
These 3 are near the top of my road trip playlist for sure. When your stuck on the freeway they make driving at that moment a little morey bearable.
Reflection brought me back to life
I really hope you guys explore Puscifer. The song that played on the intro of yours reminds me of a Puscifer song
Val x Corina needs to happen
You two are awesome. Even your music is growing on me :D
As said in the video - we need to hear the whole album in order :D Can't wait for that one :D
Reflection resonates with Taoist poems about moodlight and moonlight. These are related to different states of consciousness as the midbrain of a practitioner is evolving from a primarily alpha and beta wave processor to a theta wave processor. "Zen-Brain Reflections" by James H. Austin MD is a real eye-opener.
You guys have the best Tool reactions on RUclips.. Spiral out. Keep going.
I love that you close your eyes. Best way to listen to Tool
Reflection is a big favorite of mine!!!
This might be the most underrated tool song
Tool's mixing gets better each album
As these songs are all from the album 10.000 days, an album dedicated to his mom who had died after years of paralysis due to a stroke, I always pictured these songs as the various stages of grief surrounding the situation of his mom. Disposition sounds like a boy needing answers from his mom, though unable to receive them.
Excuse me, they are from Lateralus.... there goes my theory 😂
Oof
It's okay man. Tool fans are quick to correct. Just keep on listening. That's all that matters
I would love to see your reaction to the next and last track on this album, it is a true trip. But yeah, awesome reaction. I love going with people on their TOOL joumey
Triad is tough for me to get through just on some weird vibrational level in my own brain, but I love the other two so dearly.
Bro, that is the Samara icon on your shirt.
By the way, this triple is fantastic.
As a secondary note, Disposition got me through Marine Bootcamp. I would sing this during hikes.
It's totally new for me. I buy all cd's from tool, because i play it with my Gibson over my headthones.
Do an updated reaction video to Schism PLZ!!!! That would be so fun to watch!
So, initially the 3 tracks were written as 1 composition (or song) at over 20+ minutes... they were later indexed down to 3 tracks for the album's release.
Such as the same situation with Parabol/Parabola were initially written as 1 composition.
She got me hooked on old soul
I take the lyrics to Disposition as letting the time pass (Watch the weather changr) and spending time with someone (Mention this to me, mention anything) He says nothing else but I get the feeling like this is all OK with him.
Reflection is just a beautiful poem
Very cerebrally satisfying
This is Justin Chancellor proving he is an amazing bass player… that intro was 1 bass guitar. Adam comes in later, but that beautiful work was Justin. How you write something like that… I have no idea…
You'll know the pieces fit.
DRT is the kind of music that is transcendent, not only within Tool's catalogue, but music as a whole. Its a timeless masterpiece of sonic expression that encompasses so much of the human narrative of existence whether its 5000 years ago, in the present , or 5000 years in the future. In the theater of my mind, Disposition floats you out of the atmosphere where you've been laying on the ground watching the weather, then Reflection drives you through the solar system into deep space, and it becomes questionable whether its exterior reality or internal consciousness in the most primal way, and Triad is the journey through a black hole singularity of absolute raw energy that inverts back into the very beginning of all things, perhaps the moment of the birth of consciousness. Might I also suggest, the name of your band + listening to the whole album start to finish ;^D
Gotta go back and do Third Eye soon! and Flood!
You are now ready for Wings for Marie young padawan... also, tons of textures and layering throughout the Puscifer catalog
Love this band
I haven’t even watched the reaction yet. I’m about to. I just stopped in to say I love it!!!! You two are awesome!!!!
Hooray for no stop for Reflection! My favorite song of all time, sans The Grudge. WOW 9:52 spot on for saying “a feeling of no control” cuz what follows is surrender
I think that I hear a freaking Didgeridoo! ✌️
Whenever life has gotten difficult the Holy Trinity has been my companion to provide me a healthy escape and let me know its all gonna be all right.
Remember buying this album at Midnight at my local record store, still to this day the biggest Midnight album release Ive ever seen attended. Over 250 people in line to buy this album.
🤘🏻🌀
About Disposition’s lyrics, I always imagined Maynard saying this to his mom, who was paralysed and passed away not long after the album was released. Near the end she had nothing to do but watch the weather change and repeatedly mention the same things over and over again (as moms tend to do)… but it’s like the narrator is realising that even though it’s not much, for him it’s everything. So it’s as if he’s: saying “please just keep watching the weather and mentioning the same things to me, don’t go away”. Or maybe that’s just me overthinking
You sleep into nothing.
Algo Love ❤
Would love to see her reaction to Jambi
Puscifer - Personal Prometheus (live) from the global probing live album
Does TOOL inspire you two to want to make music, or encourage you to approach your music in another direction/ perspective 🤔 It seems you really absorb their Genius. Another great reaction, thanks for sharing with us 🙏
Cool cool

I dont wanna be down here, swimming in my ______________, so crucify the ego before it's far to _____. We will come to find, that we are all one _____. Imagine it all conceivable. To let the light touch you and let the words spill through and let them pass right through bringing out our hope and reason. Before we pine away, before we hide away. And also the moon told this dude a secret as well
When this album came out, I loved it but I kind of bounced off this part. I don't know why. I didn't hate it, it was just kind of "there."
Then, my friend and I went and saw them live on the second half of the tour, so they had Meshuggah opening. So we went expecting a typical rock/metal show. Obviously that's not how Tool works, and I was completely blown away by the entire experience. Then they get to this part of the album and it was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. Disposition and Reflection were otherworldly. The shift in vibe and tone of the entire venue was unreal. Then, while Reflection is fading out, Meshuggah's drummer and two other band members come out on stage with standing drums and they proceed to end the show with a jammed-out, insane, 4 drummer version of Triad with Maynard also playing a second guitar. It was absolute madness. In the best way possible.
I believe there is great footage of this show titled "Lateralus Tour Final Show" 2002.
I recommend watching 😁
@@blakejohnson6923 Man, that's a much smaller stage/setup than the show I saw. Kind of surprised since it's not only a grand finale, but a homecoming as well. I haven't watched the whole thing yet, but it's pretty good quality so far, and I'll definitely finish it because the setlist is top-tier. Just wish all these camera guys wouldn't focus so hard on trying to see the band in darkness when there's amazing shit going on all over the place....
In Disposition I take it as how someone’s disposition or attitude can change when you mention something to them. How the “weather” changes when you mention something. I always picture it getting stormy or pissing someone off just because you mention the wrong thing.
Wings for Marie 1 & 2 next sadly beautiful
I started the video , walked away to make some coffee, came back, and both of you had your eyes closed listening to the music. Congratulations, you understood the assignment. 👏 😊
please i wanna se your thoughts about tesseract of matter live in studio or the album version!! pretty please!!
If you could sum up the entirety of Tools work into one song, Reflection would be the one.
If you do Wings and 10,000 Days, which I know you will eventually, maybe listen to Jimmy first. 😉
This is not 10 thousand days
I think that Maynard was pissed off on Disposition, but tried to keep it cool to match the song feel.
"Mention this to me, and watch the weather change." 😡
Lyrics are wrong at the end reflection. And let them pass right through.
If you want to go back to Schism how about reacting to the music video
Not good stuff.
Finally … The Holy Trinity as been tripped! As all Tool Songs the magic is that anyone can see their own meaning and feeling to them, even if or ever is a single one…is it? Or not…. Who knows…🪬🧿🌀
Finally!
You should watch/listen to Puscifer's Vagina Mine from the V Is For Versatile mix
