There’s the disc version and the digital version, the disc version comes with the disc drive and the digital version comes without it. For the new slim version you can later add a disc drive to the digital version by buying it separately. The disc version comes with the disc drive included. It supports both disc and digital games.
The fan is normal, it doesn't sound like a jet. It's job is to keep the hardware cool whilst you game. The sound is exaggerated because of the proximity of the microphone. It will come on and off whenever you game, whenever needed. If it sounds extremely loud and it feels very hot, it's probably because it's dirty and needs its ventilation cleaned - OR it's been a few hours of nonstop gaming and the console requires a break to avoid overheating and powering off improperly. Maybe your console isn't getting enough airflow which will cause the fan to get louder. And xbox is an awful console you should try and enjoy your ps5 more
