- Beautiful US Oldtimer cars from another time :-)
We stopped at this place (Glendale Utah) with little expectations.
But we were so wrong.
I had a nice little chat with the owner (around 75 years old , i guess). You can walk around his area and he is visitor friendly. In fact it seems to me that he is very proud of his collection and like to share his thoughts with visitors.
He told me that a lot of the visitors are germans like me, passing through from Bryce Canyon NP to Zion NP on their road trips.
The only thing he is very upset about is that some people steal exteriors from his cars like the mirrors or car signs. Please don't do that if you ever plan to visit this place. He don't deserve this.
He let you walk, free of charge on his property so please be respectful !!!
If I remember it correctly his name is Bill.
Visited: End of May, 2015
Music: Bill Conti Soundtrack of Karate Kid I
Location: Highway 89 between Bryce Canyon NP and Zion NP
Great video. I had the pleasure of touring the yard three years ago. Fantastic collection. The owner is very friendly and allowed to photograph much as I wanted. Thank you for allowing me to relive the adventure.
where is this ?
Is he willing to sell any vehicles?
@@burt66669999 Located in Glendale, UT. Halfway between Zion and Bryce Canyon.
@@dixieboy58 Possibly. Located in Glendale Utah. They're solid cars. I have his contact info.
Really cool old cars! I think about all the lives that have touched them, I know they are inanimate objects now but once they were transportation, for people with hopes, dreams if they could all talk imagine the stories they could tell. For example "I was built in Detroit, shipped to Boise and sold off a lot there, a family of four bought me and drove me until I couldn't get up the hill anymore!
They sold me to a teenager who was always going to fix me up but I only got worse, lost power and was put out to pasture. Now here I sit rusting back into the elements, waiting for someone to like me enough to buy me and fulfill the teenagers dream of making me shine again!"
When you think about it...all these vehicles once were the priced possessions of their proud owners...they were polished -vacuum cleaned....chrome polished....Very gifted photographer...good music !
The music was wisely chosen for this one. It's from the original Karate Kid movie from the scene where Daniel had waxed all old cars from Mr. Miyagi. So credits to Bill Conti for this great soundtrack :)
I love the native American flute music as we watch the crying eyes of the chrome headlight bessels falling from their eye sockets. We are a spoiled people as we are too quick to discard our fine treasures.made from mother earth. ;-(
Actually the famous Bill Conti is playing a japanese pan flute here as the track is from the OST of 1984's Karate Kid but I totally understand what u mean with the native american version of the instrument.
@@Schnizzori thanks for the correction,I believe in giving Credit where credit is due.I thank you for creating this video.I wish I could take my grand children through that yard and show them true classic examples of American Muscle History .
@@williamkirkland7002 Why just wishing and not "doing" ? Would be a blast for them!
this music is perfect for this
I knew the music for this the moment I had taken my first shots there. Didn't have to think twice about it. thx!
Sweet and sad! Sweet old cars; sad to see them rusting away!😁😚
the dirt we were made in. the dirt we will be buried in. it will be as if,we were never even here
great video, I´m going to visit this place in summer. I hope that Bill still is alive and welcomes me
Those were the days when cars had their OWN unique styling and there no cars which looked all alike such as we have today. One rattle trap looks like the next one. Copy copy copy!!
Makes me cry and long for those old times. Thank Bill for being such a public diplomat. He’s a champ and a blessing.
Public diplomat? Sounds interesting. Tell me more if you like. Always wondered what kind of person he is towards his hometown community.
Very few citizens allow people on their property to browse. And to have a treasure trove such as his is a memory lane to DIE for. 😊
@@brianjames4169 Indeed. I wish i could visit his place again soon but unfortunately I decided to hit the university again at the age of 38 :-D So no money for road-trips in the U.S for the next 3 years.
Nothing wrong with going back to school my friend. Life’s a long journey and the learning never stops. My hat’s off to ya.
@@brianjames4169 Thank you for your kind words!
OWNED BY ONE OF THE NICEST MAN EVER BORN. BILLY SPENCER. A TRUE FRIEND.
Glad to hear ! Maybe you can show this to him and let him see how much I loved it there. In a way he encourged me to spread this place because he gave me his card and told me how much he likes friendly visitors and that I should tell anyone I know in germany :-)
Does he sell any of the cars?
Man of my own heart. I just hate to see the old ones go.
What happened? Did he pass away?
Nice photography work done on this video. I'm lucky enough to had road in a lot of those car's and truck's in my life time. I guess that's why I have always been into older car's truck's people would come over and show me there rides and we would go for a Cruz in there car.
Thank you :)
Nice video.good quality
Thank you very much!
With that music I kept expecting to see Kwai Chang Caine strolling through the junkyard.
wish they would have shown more of the 59 wagon
I'm looking for a solid Chev car, like an Impala, or Riveria, Monte Carlo, or classic Buick?
Are these cars still available?
I want a two door fifty seven Chevy!!!!!!!!!
Any Vega's or Monza's?
nice
Karate kid music
Thank you for that video! :)
I love classic car junk yards, I think those places often are the last hope to find a part, or a whole car too!
I hope this yard is still alive?!
I saw in this video some cars or parts what could help m to complete my restoration project... :)
Can you tell me if there is anyone with a eMail adresse or something else to contact the owner of those cars?
Thank you a lot & save the classic car junk yards! ;)
Can u give me your email or something? I'll send you his contact information. he gave me his card when I was there but I don't want to post his contact information here in the public comment section :)
I live in Glendale so I'll be on the hunt for this.
@@dresdenthedragonbee7837 I hope Bill is still doing great?
Is that from karate kid?
The music is indeed from Karate Kid. I mentioned it in the video description. I found that it fits very well to the scenery. But I had no time to wax on wax off ;-) I had to take these pictures, haha
how do you get to this place
+bray „DINO“ hodges I mentioned the location in the video description :) Easy to find with google earth f.e.
Beautiful photography and great work with your photo program. I do classic car photography so I love seeing other people's work. I don't know if this is allowed in a comment section or not, but I'll just put it out there. I did a book titled "There Was A Time", twenty-five photos with twenty-five single page nostalgic stories of days of our youth. (cdmproductions.net) It's a fun trip back for us baby-boomers.
You're welcome :)
Question is will he sell?????????
Wanted 54 o53. Mercury. Flathed moter or something like tha or 49 Ford club coup stock
dream
I want to go there and buy car parts!!
I bin there
Unknown about the web site. I translate it as people who see go wandering about inside the yard unrestricted.
Kung Fu drive's out with the 57 chev
You can get over 90% of parts for a 55--56--57 Chevvy even today as after market spares
A lot of the cars and trucks could easi,y be saved
When I talked to the owner of the place he told me that he regulary sells them to people who are interested in bringing them back to life with some rare exeptions like the one that the Bee Gee's drove back in the day.
57 #ord love it show moreh
very rust free cars...probably because a dry climate
Wanting to find 63
Want a 63 gpcomplete to repair
Busco partes de Buick 1951 roamaster
C'mon.......lets see some Hudson's......
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👎👊👊
To minnie chey more ford and dodge
That aside...ditch the depressing music. The reason why people want these car worldwide, besides their great designs, is that they remind everyone of great happy times. What do we need a video with depressing music? Bring of the Rockabilly or even perhaps some surf....happy misic
