Anyone believing he jumped ? no pilots on this channel are buying that. It was evidently accidental, but details would be needed . He did not jump, for sure. No one does that over a busted wheel. It is why we have insurance.
While the pilot may have seen him jump off, through an emergency situation while he managed to land a plane without a wheel, however, it was clearly accidental. Something still doesn't add up. I smell "foul play." The PIC said he "jumped." There were cloud build ups, like before a storm so chance are it was choppy or bumpy which very well could have contributed to the other pilot slipping off the ramp. The PIC would have known that instantly and would instinctively described the tragedy as a "Fall", not a "Jump."
Okay, people, this was a young pilot skydiver. He was in his prime & fearless. He DID NOT JUMP. Inspecting the gear they hit an air pocket & he fell out. It happens. It happened to me once in a C-123. A man like this is living a life few have experienced. Boys will be boys. He simply fell.
Exactly, from what understand they had a hard landing which damaged the right main gear. He, most likely, was inspecting the damage, hit a cloud and fell. The reporting on this story is absurd along with the pilots statements. He may be trying to duck a lawsuit because he was in command of the aircraft during the tragedy.

@hi It's a ramp door. The Casa 212 is made for skydiving. We always look around the side on jump run to line up the aircraft just before we jump. In the summer we hardly ever close the door. The ground called & told them they lost a wheel, he simply went back to see if there was a fix for it (both pilots were also jumpers). No doubt hit an air pocket & knocked him out.
