First question why would it come back!? Second, so we should not fix it at all because with your mind set it will squeak again.its like if your hungry don't eat because you will feel hungry again at some point anyway.!
Do you normally get defensive this quickly? Noise could come back because parts of the structure have shifted again or the repair giving way. Nothing is forever.

In this case the structure is 100% fine. It's just a company who built the stairs was cheap enough not to use any glue or adhesive. No it's exactly 2 years since though the stairs are fixed and there's absolutely no noise coming whatsoever.
