How did you know the resistance values for min and max temperature readings? Would this procedure be the same for the interior ambient temperature sensor that controls the auto climate control? Lastly, how come no dielectric grease when connecting the new sensor to the harness?
I have the shop manual for this truck which is where I get my values for electronic testing and torque specs. I always have manuals for my tutorial videos so I can provide accurate info. A lot of this stuff is application specific so generic values can't be used here. The interior sensor is most likely a different setup and is integrated with a module. I don't use dielectric grease as it's non-conductive and can sometimes cause problems. If I were to use something to protect the terminals, DeoxIt would be my go to then.

Voltage tests at just under 5 and my ohms test well. So it appears the wiring and sensor are working properly yet I'm still reading -40 in the cab.

My sensor has been working very well by being off by 1°f, but most of the times its been very accurate

i am reading 5.035 volts on the harness, is that still within tolerance. if not how can i do fix this issue?

Just shows ambient air temperature. Not a drivetrain sensor.

The digital tempurature gage is accurate but the check engine code says ambient air tempurature sensor
