Hi John That component you are calling a Resistor must be a Diode. Resistors are not polarity sensitive. Great Video. You have been much help in the past. Thank You
Ok, so I just did this conversion last weekend, and one big issue that threw me is after the internal conversion I had to reverse the loop direction on the impulse pickup for it to work, that is to say I had to cut the little plastic thing and make the loop the other direction, sort of the same as changing the polarity of the leads like I saw you do in your other video about the same task, that is what made me look at it to begin with. Any idea why that is? I mean I think I know why, the ground was reversed and there is direction to the movement, so make a bit of sense, but you never mentioned it in the video so am I the only one?
I am about to do this however my tachometer only has one tag by the resistor not the two. There is a smaller tag inside,so should I solder one end of the resistor to earth. The live from the terminal further in?

Your videos always get better!

Hi ..where can I buy an new induction loop and bridge ?
John, will this be the same process for my "63 Jag E-Type tach?
My apology John, that IS a resistor you are moving one end of.
I should have viewed Full Screen before.
LOL talk about the summer party didn't say when it was.
interesting
:)
Made in Britain by Smiths instruments not Texas instruments!!!! It say it on the front.....
It may be rebadged.
So green is ground in America. And black is ground in the rest of the world. Sounds logical.
