It's important to know that ALL matcha products are good from a health viewpoint.
The ratings 'better' or 'best' are about artistic values --taste, fragrance, appearance.
I like to stir honey in with the matcha powder creating a paste. This will address clumping of the matcha especially when you do not have a bamboo stirring tool. The matcha will completely solidify when hot water is added, also creating a smooth creamy body of tea.

I always like to pour a little bit in at 1st of the hot water just enough to barely soak it so I can blend it in better and I'll start to in the whisking all start getting the foam Which is called the froth and then I'll start continuing to use the whisk after I get the desired amount of water to keep the froth going It works wonders

I was told that it is ideal to keep the matcha in a freezer by the matcha love company representative but you said do not put it in a freezer. Which information is correct?
The best way to keep matcha fresh after opening is in the fridge or in an air-tight container in a cupboard with other teas (just keep it away from light and moisture). If you bought a large amount of matcha in a well-sealed container and are not planning to use it often, you can freeze it. The problem with freezing is that it won't work for everyday use. After taking matcha from the freezer, in order to use it, you need to wait until your matcha will have the room temperature. If your container is not tight, you might risk getting extra moisture inside which will damage your matcha. Make sure not to keep matcha longer than 1.5-2 years even with freezing: it will lose its best qualities and taste. One year is the average amount for storing the best matchas. Curious why you are saying not to put it on the freezer? It's the driest, darkest place. The refrigerator has much more humidity. I've kept a bag of Matcha fresh for years in the freezer and I've even traveled all over the world with this matcha. I have one that has been in a dark airtight tin but kept at room temperature and has oxidized, lost it's flavor. Probably lost a lot of its nutrients too but it was expensive so I'm still using it. Also non dairy milks are just as good as water. It is the casein in dairy milk reduces the nutrients in Matcha. Btw, Matcha makes me sleepy due to l-theannine so I have to drink it at night.

Good point I got mine from GNC because I simply can't afford those on line . Because I'm a true tea drinkers . It just won't last in my cabinet lol . So far the brand I got from there is really good it's from sunfood, organic powder matcha tea .

Does placing the matcha in the refrigerator change its texture? Meaning- making it more clumpy?
Not really, mine is only “thicker” (for a lack of a better word) for a second or two after I take it out. It won’t really clump unless you get moisture contamination. So just keep it air tight & it’ll be fine. As long as it sealed air tight freezing, refrigerating, or leaving it out won’t affect how it is once you’ve heated it into drinkable tea. Matcha is fiberless green tea basically.

How am I supposed to know what the matcha looks like when I buy it. It is in a closed container that I can't through.
Great question, Wendy! If you buy matcha tea in a store, look at the tea origin. The best matcha teas are from Japan and regions Kyoto or Nishio. Good, organic matcha is never cheap since it takes time to harvest and produce it properly (unless it's a big Costco promotion). Look for the USDA and JAS certification of the vendor that confirm the quality. If you buy matcha online, some vendors post photos and videos of their products. And of course, there is always a risk. You need to try some options before you find your favorite. We hope, that you will check out Zekko Matcha green tea as well and give it a try.
Wendy Dann I was wondering the same thing. If I buy it online, how am I supposed to know? When I receive it, it may look like a bright green to me, but how do I know it is supposed to be brighter than the one I have if I have no other matcha to compare it to?

Would you say matcha is best consumed raw (cold water) or boiled ?
Some people say that when matcha is consumed raw with cold water it brings more umami (pleasant taste). Excessive heat (steaming hot) kills beneficial nutrients in this powdered green tea. I like it warm with the ideal water temperature 175F / 80C. This way matcha is pleasant to drink and it still keeps its nutritional value. You can still consume it raw if you add it to matcha smoothie bowls or green smoothies.
I have always been a green tea drinker for many years but just started to try matcha, the taste is very profound and It does make me feel slightly nauseous.
It is almost like a hemp and kale taste.
I was thinking of buying vegetable tablets and filling them with the powder, would I still absorb the nutrients necessary? Or have you got any good smoothie recipes perhaps ?
does matcha powder expired? i have the matcha powder for years now and i wanted to use it yesterday but im afraid. it was in air tight jar but not friged or freezed. it still smell good tho, but im not planning to drink it, but is it still useable for baking?
Usually, all matcha powders keep their vitamins, nutrients, and good overall quality, including taste, for about a year. After 12-15 months take a closer look at your tea: if there was some extra moisture, I wouldn't recommend using the powder. If it looks and smells ok, you can taste a bit of it. Normally, matcha loses it's good taste after a year and can be a bit bitter. It might be still safe to try it, but at your own discretion. Plus be careful not to get an allergic reaction.
Yosia Lianto I've had a tightly sealed foil bag in the freezer for over 5 years, it is still vibrant and delicious. I have another one that is in an airtight dark tin, kept at room temp and it's changed color and lost flavor but it was expensive so I'm still using it. It has definitely not gone bad it just doesn't have much flavor.
