for a trustee to show up in a t-shirt and camo pants is entirely inappropriate apparel. anyone who does that is a clown, and it's no wonder the joint is fucked up when it's run by people without the slightest bit of decorum. this isn't a damn flea market, you're *expected* to do better. you're expected to present a certain image of professionalism, it shouldn't even have to be said. if you can't be bothered to put on a halfway decent outfit, or at least a township shirt and slacks, you probably shouldn't be trusted to make important decisions affected 180K lives.
you're a public figure, you can't blow your stack all willy-nilly. losing your shit has to be strategic, even then in the heat of passion you still have to mind what you say.
and, you're expected to have the kind of personality that speaks up when you need to. elected officials shouldn't have the luxury of fearing for their job when it's all temporary anyway. the apology was good to hear (would have been better if she didn't have to read it, that's always disingenuous), hopefully she backs that up with actions, but the basic problem here is she's not right for the seat if she has to apologize for failure to have enough of a voice. people don't vote for benchwarmers, they want the varsity team -- especially for what they're getting paid!
