  • For quite some time, some of you fine folks have asked about the metal fabrication shop and since we're going through some pretty big changes, I thought it'd be a perfect opportunity to share how to choose the right tools for the job, share how we use our EDC at the workshop, and welcome you to ask yourself, do you actually USE your EDC?

    😮 I'm such a giddy school girl for this stuff!! Love the shop. I've worked in several machine shops. Set up, repaired, maintained, and did manufacturing on screw machines, lathes and mills. Still have old tools and the boxes. Found many old tools in old war stamped machines I still have.

    Hi Maurice, am elder but love Bellroy, saw your comparison video, very good, however, the Ventura 9litre bag performs way better than the others. The little nylon mesh pockets are in the front pouch and there are internal dring pockets plus a good zipped inner pocket and thin pocket for cards. The closed system strapping is fantastic and the opening completely opens to the main compartment. I can carry a small pencil case and notebook and my kobo and old lady wallet! Love your work. 🎉

    The bambu has a good feature set and is probably the best value out of the box in that price range, I heard the prusa mk4 is reliable too and has an enclosure kit. I think both have replacement parts available for repairs but the prusa might have less proprietary components if that matters to you.

    Might be too late but my brother owns a Bambu Lab X1-Carbon Combo 3D Printer, and I am very jealous. As someone who has owned and used many brands or printers in the past at home and at work, this is by far the best printer I have worked with. You will be doing more printing and less tinkering with this machine than any I have worked with.

    I do some consulting for an ultralight canoe company. I recommended an X1 Carbon - had zero experience going in. Designed several iterations of a bracket for use on canoes to replace an aluminum. In no time we were printing in nylon/carbon fiber. From about $9 per part to about $1.40 part as well as now print on demand. I had a very positive experience and picked up quickly. Designs done in Fusion 360 transfer over easily. Have even made several custom vac hose adapters - very easy to accomplish.

    We have three bambu lab x1 carbon in our lab for a year now. Probably one of the best FFF printers i worked with. Incredible speed and little maintenance compared to Ultimaker etc. First thing you should do is print a bucket for the garbage the printer poops out (probably my only negative point about this printer)

    I have both the Bambu X1C an the P1S with an AMS on both. I haven't seen a lot of difference between the two in the prints that I do but tend to favor the X1C for prototyping where the more repeated runs are done with P1S.

    Hey man, huge fan of your videos. I rewatch your videos so often because I just love your philosophy. Would you happen to be a photographer? I’ve been dabbling in some photography, however, in line with your philosophy, I want to carry as little as possible while staying practical, especially when travelling. Would you happen to have any suggestions on EDC’ing a camera, or how you would incorporate a camera into your one-bag travel system? Most camera bags I have looked at are whole backpacks themselves 😅

    Have you looked at socket storage racks for queen P. Some of them are exactly like the solution you have with the styrofoam and dowels.

    i have 2 bambu x1c and 1 p1p, and let me tell you... i hate them... LOL... they're nice, but so unnecessary... i have several printers at home... so far, my most used are my neptune 3 max and creality k1 max... and tomorrow i'll pick up a creality k1 at microcenter for my kids... but that said, it really depends on what you want to print... serious things to consider... are you going to do multi color prints...? they're cool, but at work we NEVER do that... never... it's a huge waste of filament, and it's more for like toys and decorations... at home, i paint with my airguns... so black filament all day it is... another question is, are you only going to prototype on it..? because PLA filament would be ideal... but, if you're going to print out in nylon, carbon fiber, or other materials, then i'd get something with a hardened nozzle like the bambulab x1c, or the qidi X-MAX 3... i was close to getting the qidi x mini but i plan to modify the k1, and i scored an open box at microcenter, and i can always buy a hardened nozzle down the road if i need it... the creality K1 MAX would be great for the shop, but you're going to have to invest in some time jailbreaking it to run on a slicer that's not the creality one... it just went open source, so it's dooable, and there are videos out there... you can also just use creality print and not think about any of that stuff... but my money is on the creality machine with a hardened nozzle... save some cash, and they print slightly faster than the bambulabs too... but you'll never print at 600mm/s...

    Vikings/Norsemen/Scandinavians were first and foremost traders, not warriors. Other than that great video ;)

    • @tvheadd
      @tvheadd 4 месяца назад

      What's your point? "So don't include them on a list of warriors because they traded with people?" Yeah, no. Cowboys were cow herders first and foremost, but that doesn't make them any less included on the worlds list of "people that dun fight gewd and are frum history." Vikings were widely known for how well they fought, just like samurai and the zulu, quit being pedantic for no good reason, this dudes patches look dope as hell❤

    • @meisrerboot
      @meisrerboot 4 месяца назад

      @@tvheadd Scandinavians are mostly known for how well they pillaged defenseless priests. They weren't warriors trained from birth. I'm not being pedantic, just sick and tired of people going crazy over "ViKiNg" stuff when they don't know shit.

    I may be in the minority here, but the recent trend(?) in your videos of "heres how to make something make money" is a big turn off for me.
    We live in capitalism, and as a youtuber you want to appeal to your broadest base, so if this is the way, then it is what it is. But if youre looking for feedback, that's definitely mind. I think hustle culture is disgusting.
