- I've used my Traveler's Notebook every single day for a decade. I typically went to Japan a few times a year for business but after 3 years of not being able to go because of the 'demic, I finally got to go a few weeks ago and of course, my first stop was the best store in Japan. period. The Traveler's Company Notebook flagship store in Tokyo.

Folks always ask me about the double pen clip made of brass and leather. The Superior Labor is a TINY workshop out of Japan so shipments to stockists around the world at few and far between. My recommendation is to search "Superior Labor Pen Clip + *Your Country or City*" and at least find a local retailer that is an authorized dealer. They'll likely be sold out, but at least you can sign up for their email list and be notified as soon as they're back in stock.

By the way, if you're planning a trip to Japan, just a note that their Narita Airport location is on the landside (PRE-SECURITY) in Terminal 1 on the 4th floor. Basically, when leaving Japan, get to Narita airport at least 45 minutes earlier than you would typically, so you have time to browse and shop. Unfortunately, they do not have a location at Haneda airport (yet).
Their flagship store is located just steps from Nakameguro Station: 🔗 goo.gl/maps/4sDdxNSb3cY7gH4H8

My Travelers Notebook is THE most constant item in my everyday carry. I don't think adding a notebook to your EDC makes sense if you won't use it, but at the same time, I think using a notebook is the best way to gain clarity and plan quickly. That bit about feeling like the notebook was ruined when you make a mistake on the first page. I felt that in my soul.
For folks starting out or on a budget, please keep in mind that Amazon has many functional inserts for 10 dollars each. Fancier items can be harder to find admittedly.
I never thought anyone in the world cared as much about notebooks as me.
same
Me too. I love ALL the stuff of the video 😍
What do you even write in them?
You do realise this is an advertisement. He is paid to care as much by the notebook company.
He might be getting paid, his love and obsession is real👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Love seeing your passion for the Traveler’s Notebook! For over 10 years, mine has been a regular sidekick and travel companion. Like yourself, I just can’t leave it go. It brings so many benefits to my life, including keeping my thoughts organized and allowing my creativity to flow!✍️🥰
WOW! I’m so jealous. I love all the options that are available. So much cool stuff, so little money! LOL
As someone who enjoys watching both EDC and journaling videos, and wonders why they don't cross over more often even though they're so incredibly similar, it was really cool seeing this, and hope to see more like it in the future!
Maurice, your content is SUPERB! this is the reason why paying youtube premium for me is so worth it! I consume so much content I come across gems like your channel and it absolutely blows my mind! 🤯🙌 the video quality, the editing, the voice over, the topics, the personality! Stunning creator for sure! 💪
Your videos have inspired me to start using the notebooks I've been accumulating. That fear of making a mistake or crossing stuff out is a mental barrier for me that I gotta get over
I smiled the entire time while watching this. Well done!
I just recently discovered your channel and in a very short period it has become one of my absolute favorites! I was in Narita once, and got the chance to check out the travelers stand/shop. It was very cool. Hard to believe that years later I would find a RUclips creator who loves that exact brand.
Damn! That store looks cool.
I can’t believe how excited I get watching the walkthrough of the store lol. This will absolutely be on my list of places to visit if/when I ever visit Japan. Wonderful content as always Maurice!
love your video quality and the unique premises you bring to the table!!
Always a good time when Maurice makes a video. Thanks for the relaxing time :)
I'm starting grad school this August. I have been looking at these traveler's notebooks since I started watching your channel. I ALWAYS use notebooks. I actually get weird looks from other students as they all type away on their Macbooks. However, as an older student, I'm old school. Writing long form triggers parts of the brain that typing doesn't.
I’ve always gotten weird looks for taking notes on paper in work meetings while everyone is clacking away on their laptops. I have found a paper based system is much faster to use, helps my recall, and helps me pay attention better.
Me too! And I almost always draw out my diagrams on paper before I digitize anything.
@@StevePeterson Same. I have a blank notebook in my travelers notebook dedicated to creating mindmaps for project planning and anything else I need to flesh out before getting it into my system for action.
I literally made a trip to all the TN shops in the Tokyo area last month because of your World’s Best Notebook video 😆
I want everything this man features in his vids! So glad I grabbed a pakt travel backpack just got back from my second trip with it!
My Traveler’s notebook has a special place in my heart as I penned down some of my most memorable moments being a parent. Will definitely get the passport TN for my daughter when she grows up.
Great video. Like you, switching to a Traveler’s Notebook eliminated notebook anxiety I had for decades trying to use “fancier” notebooks. The Midori paper is also fantastic for use with fountain pens.
This the first video of yours I have watched. It was very fun seeing such cool items in the shop, and a beautiful Chris Reeves knife just casually laying there!
Just got back from Japan and ended up at the TC store in Tokyo Station twice. Once at the beginning of the trip to pick up an olive cover for my notebooks and once at the end so my daughter could buy the Japan-only cover for her now jam-packed TC insert scrapbook. She needed the zipper insert too, and I'm already jealous.
Finally you discovered that someone is trying to scam your followers through the comments. Thanks for making this a safe place.
I was one of those guys. Thank you for protecting us
:O I can't believe the pan am stuff! My grandpa was responsible for their marketing and I've got his awards for that ad campaign sitting next to me! Thanks for the video :) You've got great taste haha
My brother worked for Pan Am and was so proud of his job. I got to take a discounted trip to England before they folded, as part of his employee benefits.
FYI, the metal box is by the Japanese company Toyo, great boxes at reasonable prices. Quite a few colors including an olive green. Also available under the Trusco brand name.
I love travelers company. There’s a great store near me in PHL called Omoi Zakka which carries their products and had a Travelers pop up recently. Definitely gonna stock up after feeling inspired by this. Glad you came up on my page!
OMG finally someone made a nice video about the Travelers Factory store!!!! Thank you for sharing this!! I am an avid user of TN journals too!
I saw your "worlds best notebook" video about a month ago and I fell in love instantly. i bought one right away (well after watching every other video on youtube about TNs of course), and It now hardly leaves my side so thank you for the introduction! I bought a Moleskine prior to this and it sits in my desk unused due to my new-notebook anxiety haha.
I was there this week from the UK on your recommendation. Loved it
Sweet, I’m lucky enough to live in Tokyo so I’ll go check out the store!
Love love love your videos - so informative and easy to listen to :-) AND love love love using my Traveller Notebooks too. Thanks for sharing - we too have just returned from visiting Japan, specifically to visit each of the Traveller Factory Stores - four now in total. AND like you I love Swiss Army knives … especially the Classic models. I too bought one plus the leather pouch … BUT someone else is now enjoying this purchase as I misplaced it Journalling somewhere :-) very sad. Thanks for sharing your passion for these things which are so so fun to use in so so many ways.
Wow, love this video, it's great to see different travel ideas.
This is amazing, I'm feeling it while watching this in my studio but I bet you were like a kid in a candy store here!
TN is one of my favorite brands!! The store in Nakameguro was my first stop when I visited Tokyo :) Thanks for the great video!
my wife got me my first set of muji pocket notebooks because i forget everything. good ideas, things to buy at the store, people i need to contact back, and having a tactile way of writing, storing, and then archiving your thoughts through time are super cool. good luck to everyone on the giveaway!
I now have a new stop for my Japan trip next May. The aesthetic is amazing x
I have one planner and about 6 travelers note books.. I delight in having them.! Thank you for sharing.
Travelers has taken over my note taking and I haven’t wanted to return to any other options in years. I have the full size on my desk and carry a passport edc in my bag. I agree that the zipper pocket insert is a must have. The flap pocket holds a pocket knife and flashlight. I would lose my mind in their store. Love them!
So glad the Narita store is open again! They were still closed back in February. The Nakameguro store is a favourite stop too!
Love it! I am a big fan of Traveler's and I REALLY need to visit this store in the future!
I really enjoyed this video. Thank you!
Thank you for the video!
I hesitate to buy a journal, but you have confince me to go with the travelers notebook 🤝
Aw man I literally just got back from Japan with my traveler notebook and I had no idea they had a flagship store! Gonna add this to my list for the next trip!
I love stationary, how lovely to see this great video. Thank you.
what a delightfull video!
Such a cool place with a lot of really nice objects !
Lovely video, thanks for sharing. I was daydreaming while watching that store and thinking how much I would enjoy visiting there. One more reason to visit Japan.
OMGOSH...this was such a fun video. I had no idea the passport-sized journal existed and now I need one in my life. I want to go back to Japan so bad. Once this business launch is done, I might need a few weeks over there myself. Keep the good stuff coming!!!
Hi Maurice ! Nice video like usual, big fan or your content. Love the color combo and the kit !
My fav store and fav notebook.
Great video son! Keep them coming.
Yo! Thank you for turning me onto this shop, I'm planning a trip to Japan next year and one thing I definitely wanted to get for myself, being a daily journalist, was a nice notebook from Japan. Sure I can order one online, but I want to sentimentality of "I got this in Japan".
Will definitely check it out. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I live 25 mins away from the flagship store and I didn't know about it! Guess I'll be visiting the shop this weekend.
Thank you very much.
OMG 😍😍😍 that shop! When I get to Japan its gonna be my first stop. Thank you for sharing it :)
Excelent video👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I was just in Tokyo and missed this. I am bummed!
Finally some edc/security content)) keep it up
What a great store. I would go crazy in there !
So much cool stuff!
i love stationery stores. my sister and i even when small would never go to the toy section, but we'd run to the look at the pens, pencils and pencil cases
love the cute pocket knife!
Really enjoyed your video! I plan on going to Japan hopefully this year and looking forward to going to the travelers factory. Loved your tool charms and someday I’ll find a TSL pen loop.
I appreciate the tidy idea you came up with for the giveaway. No more spammy scammers. Also, this makes me miss Japan so much. I grew up there but haven't been back for over a decade now.
Really nice >>>>>> Thank you .
The TRC shop is on my wishlist too 🙂 One day I'll get there to spend a fortune on all things TN. Great video Maurice, thanks for the give away chance as well. 👍🏻
the stamp is so nice it like your passport stamped in every country ...
Absolutely Love my TN and My LSPens! I am definitely hooked. I use mine for business and as art journals.
I love Traveler's Notebook and covet my olive one (bought from an online pen shop a few years back). Promised myself to use it on my next long-haul international flight (remains in dust cover bag/box) but this was pre-CV. Have opted to use a waxed cotton equivalent in the interim. This inspires me to visit the flagship next time in Japan. Plus your TomToc recommendation was spot on 👌
You are correct, what a fantastic little shop. I would love to find a shop like that here in the US.
great vid. Want to start with this Notebook 🙂
I'm heading to Japan in November! I can't wait to check out these storefronts including the one at Narita airport! Thanks for the video! Cheers!
I followed your advice and before buying a traveler’s notebook just go a single pad. I found the size just wasn’t right for me. I agree with the OCD so when i found the Lochby notebook system it ticked all the boxes. Multiple notebooks, nice paper, durable and rugged look. Love tour videos. Leaving this comment as a sacrifice to the algorithm so others might see your content too.
Today is the first time your video came across my feed. I enjoyed your video very much.! Subscribing.!!! 💖💖
Thanks a lot. Great content.
This is awesome. I stopped by their Narita store a few years ago.
Thanks for the tour. I have travelled to Japan but this was before I knew about Traveler’s Notebooks. I do use TNs daily as my journal. Also, I so want one of those pocket knives 😝
Had the same notebook phobia!😂
For years, I've browsed their shop in Narita T1 but only picked up a couple trinkets. A couple weeks ago, I noticed their setup at the Tokyu Hands in Ginza and ended up going buck wild since the dollar to yen exchange is crazy good for dollar earners right now. I normally carry a larger notebook when traveling and I gotta say your videos have helped me to rethink that approach and consider Travelers. I didn't get a cover since I'm going to make my own, but next time I'm gonna have to swing by Nakameguro to check out their store.
There is a small store in Washington DC, about an hour from where I live, that sells Travelers Notebook products on site. Went there with my wife back in...January? And got kitted out. I use my Travelers notebook as a tool for collecting in the moment game notes, tracking character growth progress, and plotting scenarios for TTRPG game I run for friends of mine once a month (Call of Cthulhu for those curious - I even found a little Cthulhu keychain charm for it!). It's been super helpful for me organization wise, and i'm considering picking up another for different use cases. But I would have never even known about these, if not for your videos. It's so cool that you got to go to the flagship store and share that experience!
where is the store?

Maurice!! I am so happy you got visit and travel to my dream store!! I can’t wait to finally visit!! I’ve been a Midori owner since 2016. Thank you for sharing you amazing experience buying Travelers Company Artifacts!! I was stunned when i first discovered Midori. I must have visited so many sites to finaly obtain the Midori PanAm edition (which I will take me when i visit Japan) Happy Travels! ✈️📔🖋️
Thank you or the well done review.
My camel traveler's has been a companion for over a year now, many more to come!
Great video! While I was watching you talk about all the pocket knifes you bought I was thinking "oh no, didnt he only pack one bag? How's he going to get those through customs?" Then you addressed it. Visiting post offices overseas is actually a great experience in and of itself
haha. I was thinking EXACTLY the same thing. As a fellow "one bag traveler" I always have to practice self control when seeing knives in other locations too.
I went to the Nakameguro store a couple of months ago while visiting Japan but missed several items that you showed, especially the double pen clip. Now I want to go back. I enjoyed this video and will check out your other content.
Oh, man! I'm totally nerding out. I'd travel to Japan just to shop at this store.
Just came back from my first visit to Japan ever. I was looking for a Lawson’s to get food, but stumbled upon the store after finding the McDonald’s in the same area! I saw the Victorinox collab blade and was also doing one bag travel just like you taught on your channel and was pretty sad to know it wouldn’t make it stateside. I will be going back to their flagship store the next time I go to Japan!
I didn't know that they actually have a flagship store in Tokyo! I always make sure to visit their store in Tokyo Station, and would spent an hour in that tiny shop. It's just so therapeutic :)
I found myself agreeing to your third point. When I first got my TN, I babied it too much and got scared whenever there was a little scratch or a stain. But I realised I completely ignored the first word of the Traveler's Notebook-Traveler! It's supposed to get scratched up and have all sorts of spots and stains on it. I still call my TN my little baby but I make sure it experiences most of my travels physically as well :) and also i love metal and wood boxes as well haha
Notebooks are a pretty important part of flows in general, whether it's making lists or tracking the progress of my work (freelance writer and YT content creator) they come in handy and there's something more engaging about the tactile nature of pen and paper instead of tapping on glass. These notebooks look like great quality!
Now I have one more reason to get back to Japan as soon as possible! No worries, any reason is a great reason as far as my lovely Japanese Bride is concerned! Great video and content. Keep up the great work and thanks. Cheers!
Travelers Company passport size TN fits perfectly in my scubs for note taking, vital date documentation, or break time scetching during Hospice work shifts… I’d go nuts in any of the stores…
I am so thrilled I came across this video. Subscribing!
I took your advice in an earlier video and purchased a Lamy fountain pen and the Travelers Notebook. A perfect blend and so easy to really use. I did ended up obtaining a Kaweco Sport fountain pen, as it is easy to carry in my pocket. The Lamy is an extremely fine writer, while the Kaweco is relativity close, however, the compact size was the difference. When I take time to journal, I use both pens, as they have different colored inks...Thanks again.
I just found you channel and became a fan. I typically use molskine products for my daily planner and I’m always on the hunt for something different.
Hey! Mx here. Dreaming of one of these for a long time unfortunately I do not have the money to travel all the way to Japan to get one. I’m a freak for organizing too and writing all of my crazy ideas. I work on a certifying pig farms so one of these would be awesome. Lov your videos keep it up 😉
Travelers notebook factory is also one of my fave shops…I also visited the store that was at Tokyo Station (not sure if it’s still there)…can easily spend a LOT of money there! I use these are my holiday notebooks as I find the size works for all the souvenir pamphlets and plane tickets that I usually pickup. My fave thing is looking at it side on when it’s stuffed full of ticket stubs, business cards and ephemera.
Can't wait for my trip this fall, I plan on stopping at both stores. I'll be transferring in Narita on my way to Bangkok and then stopping in Tokyo again on my way out of Asia
Awesome
Would love your take on more exceptional pens for entries!
Love the leather on the TN. Though I've found that I like to have some ability to move and reposition pages, so a ring system with leather is my go-to.
I'm jealous. There's nothing even remotely as good as this store in my location.
