    Too much focus on the bhp drop, but not enough on the entire concept. This bike is meant for the street and it's in the sweetspot for that now. If you want a naked track monster go for the V4 honestly.

      @@hallmountfilms Yes and in case you didn't watch the full vid, video, I said the same thing. I bet this bike is going to be great. Ducati never let me down. But for me, I prefer a bigger more powerful bike like my streetfighter V4S and now Diavel V4.

      @SarinEA 2 месяца назад +1

      Disagree. It's taking two ends, the V2 panigale and the Supersport 950s. By meeting in the middle it feels like it loses the best from both. I want an adjustable windscreen, higher handlebars, and a single sided swingarm. I'm now stuck with just the RS660 until Triumph comes out with a full fairing Street Triple. It sucks.

      @@hallmountfilms replacing the 950s means the new V2 will still be more aggressive. Its the wrong direction I want as a rider. They're eliminating the 950s.

    I think Ducati is actually being smart here. First off, in 2027, new MotoGP dispacement restrictions come into play, 850 cc , max bore 75 mm . What wins on Sundays sells on Monday. The other problem is that the manufacturers can produce decent 800-900 cc machines for $12,000 to $15,000. Panagale V4's going for $30 k. And BMW M1000 RR for $25 _28 k. This is simply beyond the reach of most motorcycle enthusiasts. So you have very limited market. Look at the Japanese and KTM all the 800 to 947cc parallel twins and triples. They sell the hell out of these bike ranges. To be honest, for just pure riding pleasure in the sports segment , give me a twistie road and a nimble, less than a 400 lbs fueled bike.. for touring and such larger displacement, heavier machines just work better. So, the new V2 scheme to me is an effort to serve this market. It's all about putting up numbers or your sales based upon selling V4's will fall off. Plus, these less expensive machines create tomorrow's demand for the V4 machines within your brand. If you attract entry riders in, and you give them a pleasant experience, they will come back for more. For me, it is KTM , I got my first one in 2014 , and I'm five deep after 10 years with two in my stable as of this post. A 2020 , 1290 SAS, and a 2022 1290 SDR EVO. SO kudos to Ducati. You need a pipeline.

    I have the Monster 937 which I love, but was thinking of going to the SFV2 within the next year. Wanted the bump in HP and the SS swing arm. Unfortunately now I will just keep my Monster or have to find the older model which will prob be scarce by then.

    • @DucatiDiaries
      @DucatiDiaries  2 месяца назад +1

      The Streetfighter V4 is a great upgrade from the Monster. But I've been missing my Monster since I sold it. :o| But if you're on the bigger side (I'm 6'1" and about 215 lbs), the SF V4 would be good.

    • @Daves_Man_Cave
      @Daves_Man_Cave 2 месяца назад

      The SS swingarm is overrated. Hanging onto it when a better one is available, is putting form over function... People keep going on about the peak power, so clearly performance is their primary desire, but then they are willing to put the look of the single sided swingarm over the newer better performing one?

    Just replaced my Multistrada V2S engine (937cc) with this new engine, the torque curve and weight reduction will make it great for the road and it’ll handle like a dream.

  • @WhiskeyDuc
    @WhiskeyDuc 2 месяца назад

    Always good content. Ducati builds bikes to win races. The DSSA is for track feedback. Weight loss is always better than power gain for track handling. Brakes win on track. The faster you can shed speed and set your line, the faster you can get back on the throttle. The new Panigale is really a great bike for the street. It will be the biggest competition for the new R9. My only curiosity is what will set the street fighter apart from a monster SP besides styling. I own a 21 monster and absolutely love everything about it.

    Ditching the single side swingarm.... not sure about that ... that gave the bike really good look and enough performance wise for 99.9999% of riders... the same they did with the monster few years back, dropping the frame... and I think the monster did not do so well, actually the secondary market, of used monsters is up a lot since then....I think the 2024 and under Streetfighers will keep the value better than in the past, it is a unique Ducati look the single side swingarm

    "some enthusiast loving updated aggressive appearance, others missing single sided swingarm" - dude, you shallowed it down. Most of ducatistis are in the middle. This bike is just plain ugly. Abundance of black plastic panels, silhouette of a dachshund and overdesigned everything. Even the SSS would not save this design.

      @@GranatNaKolach Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But I can confidently say this bike is nowhere near ugly. Compared to many other bikes on the market, this bike is beautiful (in my opinion).
