    My TPS was reading 76 and was having issues with it breaking up when I would hammer back on it after shifting. Your video was awesome for walking me though how to adjust and solve my issue.

    • @trailblogger
      @trailblogger  6 лет назад +1

      Could be, but I would start simple first. I would start with just a fresh spark plug and fresh fuel. Check the compression and spark ( make sure top end is not blown she has a steady blue spark ). Completely drain ALL the old rotten fuel outta that tank. Do you hear the fuel pump priming when you turn the key on? Should hear it run for about 15 seconds while it builds fuel pressure when you first turn the key on. Also the service manual has another test for checking the resistance on the TPS when it's off the quad. I would check that as well before you buy a new one.

    Great video! I have a "Stock" 2007 raptor 700R SE that simply will not idle good. Refurbished the top end... New valves and springs (my intake valves were bent). Lapped the new valves...
    Set to .10mm intake and .18mm exhaust. Since then I have bought a bunch of new parts, fuel pump, injector, coil, oil, Chevron 91 octane without ethanol, coolant, fan, almost everything... but I Cannot get this baby to idle without popping, revving up and down and dying. I have a new throttle position sensor ordered from a yamaha parts shop for a crazy $301. It should arrive this week. I wondered if I set the TPS to .68 with engine running or not. This helped me because your quad was not running at the time of your test. Thank you! I'm going to remove mine now and do your screw driver turn test. I hope it is the TPS or I am totally baffled on what to do next other than take it to a yamaha repair shop.

    Hi I have a raptor 700 2006y...today I decided to clean the TPS sensor by wiping some residue off ...before taking it out I tested the voltage and it was around 0.67 and full throttle 4.12
    When installing and setting ...the reading now shows 0.67 after adjusting it although the full throttle is now on 5.3 .....any ideas what changed or went wrong

    • @trailblogger
      @trailblogger  4 года назад +1

      From what I learned when the TPS was going out in my Raptor (which has an '06 throttle body on it) The early TPS are prone to leaking and you may have water or condensation inside which could be causing it to go off even after perfectly adjusted. In my case I replaced the entire TPS. Good luck, I hope you get it figured out. Let me know if that helps.

      @@trailblogger 🤦‍♂️silly me while adjusting the sensor I mistakenly moved it too much to the left and the spring inside the tps sensor had snapped ....the readings on the volt meter are working normal....it is okay if I would still continue riding with it like that ...and yes there is moisture inside of the sensor connectors...I just left it open to air dry abit....the readings on the meter are still between 0.67 and 5.2v although I'll just double check it tomorrow

    It's Alive! T.P.S. sensor? I would've never Guessed it. This is what I enjoy about you tube, The wealth of information available that we can share. Great vid & info. My Dogs give the same look when I'm unpacking something, lol. I see those Bear claws on that 700 & like that look. I'm still on the fence on the Gbc xc master or the Bear claws or the new bear claw Evo that's suppose to be geared for sport riding & lighter rotating mass.

    • @trailblogger
      @trailblogger  6 лет назад +1

      WHAT WHAT WHAT? Bear Claw Evo you say? Hmmmm this I must go see

    • @bansheefever750cc8
      @bansheefever750cc8 6 лет назад +1

      TrailBlogger Ha,Ha! Dude, you really stand behind those Bad boy Bear claws. Yes I did a search on the Kenda Bear claws and I was just clicking random reviews of them and low & behold there was a review that showed the original Kenda bear claw, a new bear claw Evo that was Desighned for performance & lighter weight.it looks pretty Kool also. then they showed the Bear claw r series radial. I know you recommended them to me before for there awsome grip in all conditions. I was hesitant because they seemed more so geared for utility use & I wasn't sure how the handling would be along with or if they would allow me to slide the back end around turns without catching & flipping me over, lol. but they seem to be able to withstand the heavy abuse you put them through and you have nothing but positive things to say about them. Your enthusiasm about those Bear claw evos has got me really thinking now.. It would between those & the Gbc like the ones on your mean, green machine.

    • @trailblogger
      @trailblogger  6 лет назад +1

      you are right the 22" bear claws are more of a heavy tire that gives extreme traction but they can be clumsy cornering compared to a square nob like the GBC XC masters. I have always wanted to run a 20" bear claw but I did not think they offered that size in the past.

    • @bansheefever750cc8
      @bansheefever750cc8 6 лет назад +1

      TrailBlogger choices ,choices. That might be where the Bear claw Evo might come into play & split that difference. We need to find some real world reviews. Tires are a major expense for a family guy like me. So that's why I'm trying to get as much info on the topic. But there's not really much info out there on the new Evo yet. I've seen so many modded banshees get spanked by big bore utilities on short Dirt/mixed drag races because knobbies don't hook as well as a deep lug heavy carcass utility tire and they spin all the way down the track, by the time they hook, the race is over. I want that good hookup off the line but would like the ability to slide the back end around long sweepers at a good clip. The other prob with the traditional bear claws is rotating mass.

    • @trailblogger
      @trailblogger  6 лет назад +1

      agree the kendas are bulky. mega traction but at a cost. that's why I ended up putting the pair we had on the raptor 700. it has no problem turning all that mass with all that low end torque. they 450 had trouble turning them and I would NOT recommend them for a track bike where you actually want to break the tread free and blow up corners. it's more of a trail tire designed to climb just about anything you point it at, mud, rocks snow. the only thing I had which fit that ticket better was the ITP Spider Tracs which are not longer in production. I might have to try the bear claw evo out in a 20 if they make them.

      Ive got a group called "sport quads and atv riders" on FB. You can try posting a video of the code and you trying to start it to see if someone in the group has a solution. Not familiar with that one off the top of my head, sorry
