Cleaning contact lenses using hydrogen peroxide solution is a straightforward process that ensures your lenses remain comfortable and germ-free. To begin, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water, then dry them with a lint-free towel. Remove one lens from your eye and place it in the designated basket of the ClearCare lens case. Fill the case with ClearCare solution up to the line, ensuring the lens is fully submerged, and then tighten the lid securely. Leave the case undisturbed for at least six hours or overnight, allowing the hydrogen peroxide to effectively disinfect and remove any buildup on the lens. After this soak, the solution will neutralize, making it safe to reinsert your lens. This thorough cleaning routine using ClearCare hydrogen peroxide solution helps maintain lens hygiene and ensures a comfortable and clear vision experience.
IMPORTANT: If you ever have a red eye, a painful eye, you think you scratched your eye or experiencing vision loss related to your contacts...REMOVE THE LENSES and call your local eye doctor ASAP.

I’ve been using this product for over a decade! It’s not cheap but I love how clean my contacts are
So do you need to rub them with clear care before putting them in or the solution does all the work?
@@shivangibhardwaj3945 solution does all the work
@@shivangibhardwaj3945the solution does all the work. No need to rub.

My favorite way to clean monthly and other extended-wear contact lenses!
I stopped wearing contacts a long time ago cuz they’d dry out after 2 hours tops. They literally would get dry and pop off of my eyes. Tried different contacts brands with the same result. An optometrist I saw said I might be allergic to the cleaning solutions and to try Clear Care…What a difference!!! I could wear contacts for 8-10 hours comfortably.
Just recently I started using eye drops suited for contact lens wearers, I find them helpful for my dry eyes!
I almost quit wearing contacts because I was starting to suffer from severe dry eyes… i was only able to wear my contacts for maybe 3 to 4 hours then my eyes would become so SO dry… I bought so many different eye drops and nothing worked. I had a sample of this contact lenses cleaning product and decided to try it out.. man… it was a life changer… aside from cleaning your contacts for some reason it adds so much moisture to your contacts…. I can wear my contacts the whole entire day now with out any issues
Important to know: this will only work with the contact lens case designed for this product. Without the catalyst, the hydrogen peroxide won’t get neutralized and will cause pain and burns.
After 6 hours can I put the contacts in my eyes right away or would I need some regular solution to rinse it off
I made that mistake once and never again. That shit burned so bad I was crying. I always rinse my contacts in normal solution after taking them out of that device just to be safe.
I used this back when I wore monthly lenses. So much better than the regular solution. I remember my brother used it once without asking me first and came into my yelling at me about how his eyes were burnin. if he’d asked I would have warned him lol
This product is great for removing proteins from your lenses.
I think so too!
So do you need to rub them with clear care before putting them in or the solution does all the work?
So we can use any hydrogen peroxide to clean any kind of lenses? Would u clarify please
No. Don’t. I just used hydrogen peroxide after letting my contact lenses sit in over night. It doesn’t revert to water after 6 hours. It burns.
I love hydrogen peroxide solution. I've used it for a couple of decades now and it's so much better than multi use solutions.
Works great for soft and RGP lenses as well!
The instructions are a bit different for RGP.
You should rub the lenses with the solution to loosen proteins before soaking.
Have been using this product on my RGP lenses for the last 8 months.
Hydrogen peroxide for RGP. Is it ok? Is it safe?
I didn’t think to rinse them after popping the lenses into their individual wells! Smart.
Its on the instructions....
@@pbufh when I wrote this comment, I was using AOSept hydraglide. It said no extra rinsing was necessary in the instructions.
I've been using this weekly for years-extended lens wearer here. It's awesome! Hard to see the line when my contacts are out tho, so I often get a bit of bubble over through the pressure release hole in the cap lol
so relatable 😂😂
Try filling when you still have one contact in your eye.
YOU HAVE TO USE THE CASE SEEN IN THIS VIDEO THAT COMES WITH THE SOLUTION, YOU ALSO HAVE TO WAIT A MINIMUM OF 6 HOURS FOR THE SOLUTION TO NEUTRALIZE OR IT WILL BURN LIKE HELL!!
Can you use this with 2 week disposable type lenses?
My eye doctor recommended this for my RGP lenses. It gets them so clean!
Clean Care by Alcon can be used for soft and RGP lenses, right?
Yes. It actually strengthens the lenses.
Thank you! I've been wearing contacts for years and a friend, not my doctor, told me that I need to clean my contacts.
I never knew you could do this! Thank you for sharing.
What do you mean? Cleaning contacts?
hi is there any way to make a video call consultation? because i have been suffering from swollen eyelids everytime i exercise too hard😥 been to numerous doctors but none have given any cures!
so far your videos on eyelid massages and warm compresses are doing the best🙏
Any previous injuries. Possible cartilage degeneration? Some injury you had but you might not be feeling pain from? Any swelling or pimples on your body eyelids swell?
do you recommend this for scleral lenses as well?
Is it.for.soft contact lenses?
From where can I get it?
Wow! I'm purchasing this rn! My contacts are giving me so much grief even after cleaning. Thank you!
Is this safe for soft lens
Yes.
My lenses are SO much cleaner after switching to this from multipurpose solution!
Glad to hear that!!!
It is used in place of the multipurpose solution. After 6 hours, the chemical reaction turns the H2O2 into...H2O. It is ready to be put back into your eyes at that point. Clear care instructions don't recommend rinsing with saline, but I think I've seen other brands that do. @@e.salinas6553
How and where can one get this product im from South Africa
I filled to the fill line. Let them sit for 10 hours, pulled them out and they burned my eye. Felt a stinging sensation for the rest of the day. Should you rinse them prior to inserting? He never mentions that.
You can rinse with a sterile saline eye solution.
Does this hydrogen peroxide work with soft contact lenses? Acuvue Oasis?
Yes, that is the exact contacts I wear and this solution is far better than all others I have tried.
Would this affect colored contacts lenses pigment? I wear prescription colored lenses.
is it safe to use this every night with my monthly contacts?
I did
Is it necessary to turn the lens inside out before putting them in the cartridge? I feel like only the outside of the lens are cleaned
No! That can damage you lenses. The cage has flow thru, so the bubbles go thru the cage to clean your lenses!
Can eye lid transplants possible please replay😢😢😢😢😢😢
I waited 36 hours and it still burned the crap out of my eye after taking it out of the well. I was careful NOT to shake it. I wanted to give hydrogen peroxide a shot after being scarred by the burning 15 years ago. It happened again so i guess I'll wait another 15 years.
Rinse with your regular solution after taking them out of the peroxide. Or it's always going to burn!
@@WitchKitty79 I did rinse, but apparently not enough. I washed my hands, put the contact on my hand, squirted ample amounts of my multi purpose solution on the contact, and rubbed like hell. I also put them back in my contacts case with fresh solution and shakes the case. It still burned.
I'm scared to try again. It's like my mental block not allowing me to use peroxide on my lenses.
I find after following instructions after solution has sat 6 hours or more the solution is only half way covering the contact portion of the case. is that appropriate?? This is occurring on a daily basis. I do rinse with another solution before inserting and the lenses seem fine..
Are you filling the solution to the line on the case while it’s empty? Fill the compartment to the line and then insert the lenses portion.
@@GizelleQuant yes I am. Thank you for the support. So sweet of you to respond.
@@kimberlyhudson2106 no problem.
I wonder if that’s just normal for this solution when you use it with soft contacts. 🤔 (I use it with hard scleral lenses)
Hope you get an answer soon.
I have a lot of questions for you doc pls, can i email you ? Answers to this questions will save my life.
Inhave never used this solution, i wanna try it but I'm a bit scared😢
You don’t need to rub them with this one?
No
Correct. The chemical reaction does all the work!
But now a days everyone is supposed to use only daily disposable contact lens only?
Hi Doctor 👋👋,can I request for a
contact lense (color gray) thankyou 🥰😘😍💋🤗💋🤗💋
Im using this product for more than 15 years, love it
구밀 가봐
Only solution i was ever able to tolerate.
Just wear the daily disposable lenses. 0 risk of infection.
Agreed! But not everyone can get those
After this product, it is necessary to put lenses in (daily) normal solution. Wearing a lens immediately after hydrogen peroxide can irritate the eye.
That was my first thought... hmm hydrogen peroxide doesn't seem like it should be on the eye😭
Not accurate. The platinum disc neutralizes the hydrogen peroxide. Literally converts it to water.
As long as it is left for at least 6 hours, the solution will neutralize to sterile water.
YOU HAVE TO USE THE CASE SEEN IN THIS VIDEO THAT COMES WITH THE SOLUTION, YOU ALSO HAVE TO WAIT A MINIMUM OF 6 HOURS FOR THE SOLUTION TO NEUTRALIZE OR IT WILL BURN LIKE HELL!!
I rinse mine with Opti-free pure moist MPS after the 6 hour soak on the Clear Care/AOSEPT Sol because it feels gritty and dry without rinsing prior to wearing.
is this just for hard lenses?
No, it’s for soft lenses
I bought some color contacts from a beauty supply store for $20. I cleaned them with opti free puremoist hydraglyde. I took them out went to sleep and woke up with a big red bump with white stuff in the middle inside my bottom eyelid for a week it became more swollen so i put warm cloth and pressed and it popped. Was it because of the contacts or cleansing? I threw them away but i want to get more contacts from diffrent beauty supply or maybe the solution.
That sounds like it’s definitely the contacts. I can’t believe you bought contacts from a beauty store🤦🏾♂️
Go to an eye doctor (optometrist) for colored contact lenses. They will measure your eye to make sure you get the right size.
Can u just use peroxide then?
No. This solution is made specifically for contacts. It's a saline/peroxide solution. Also, you need the special case for neutralizing the peroxide which comes with every bottle of solution you buy. The neutralizing disk in the case doesn't work indefinitely and will eventually not work to neutralize the peroxide.
@@tcphll thank u
I let it stay for over 6 hours and used as directed and it burned my eye 😵💫
When done, you can rinse with a plain saline rinse. It sound like you either needed fresh solution and the old didn’t react with the disk on the bottom of the cage or the disk was worn down and didnt react with the Hydrogen Peroxide to neutralize the solution. Hope your eyes are better!
Great stuff
Agreed! 👍
I can't use this stuff anymore. Now matter how long I leave it in, it still burns my eyes
I was having the same issue. It might be soap residue, especially from ones that are more fragrant. Rinsing with a saline solution should help and they’re not too expensive either
rinse the lenses with saline after taking them out of the peroxide solution
On top of rinsing with another saline/ multipurpose solution, make sure to replace the case. The platinum disc can wear off with time.
I think they advise changing the case after 3 months since the platinum disk stops working.
Good 👍 to know thanks
how often should you clean the lenses with hydrogen peroxide?
🥰♥️🥰 GOOD TO KNOW 🥰♥️🥰
Purpose of lower wheel in case plzz tell me
It reacts to the Hydrogen Peroxide and together it forms the solution that cleans the lenses. When the reaction/cleaning is done, the solution is neutralized.
Can you use that also on salero hard contacts
I was hoping it would spin them like a mini centrifuge 😢
I definitely took them out early and burned myself before 😂
Do i need to rub the lenses prior to cleaning it? Someone help :(
No. The bubbles do all the cleaning. After the lenses have sat 6 hours, dump the liquid. While the lenses are still in the cage, rinse with simple saline eye solution, then you can put them in your eyes. You only have to do this deep cleaning about once or twice a week. It depends on how fast your eyes make the proteins that cloud your lenses.
And never grab the peroxide by accident when getting ready for work! My eyes were so red! They burned all that day!
True!!! Ouch
@@DoctorEyeHealth how do I get my contacts out with really, really dry eyes? I'm having issues, but a couple of years ago I actually tore my cornea this way. I have been putting drops in for a couple of hours, every little bit. It's not doing much... Just keep trying?
@@WitchKitty79that’s what I’ve been told. Putting cleaning solution in your eyes periodically for a while or moisturizing solution. It might take a while before it’s absorbed. Make sure your first step is to move the contact around your eyeball, if possible, to make sure it has become unstuck. Of course this might not be possible. Good luck.
Ao.sept. In southern hemisphere..
Meibomian gland can transplant please replay ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
PLEASE WAIT FOR THE 6PLUS HOURS
My ptsd was triggered when I saw the container 🤣 👀 the burn
I used it last night and my eyes felt dry for a few hours before they settled
Can you do this for RPG hard lenses?
yeah i accidentally mistook this as my normal contact solution as a kid. hurt like a mf. couldn’t open my eye for a day lmao
I used to do this years ago then I just got daily disposables.
Never recommend to rinse lenses with the hydrogen peroxide.
I've been putting my contacts and that container the wrong way for over 24 years
ive been just laying it on top before i dropped it one day and realized the actual case had to be flipped open 😭😭 still cleaned the lenses well though
Why not just buy the dailies?
Because not every lens type is available in every prescription. Some people can't get their rx in a daily lens because it isn't offered.
@@mrs.siegel It can also be much more expensive. Daily for my prescription is more than double that of monthly for a 6 month supply. Granted I'd save money on solution, but that doesn't cover the extra cost.
WoW 👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍
Thank you! Cheers!
I just want to know what you do if you drop your lenses in the morning after the 6 hours... You can't re-sterilize them!
Just rinse it with solution
I did that a couple times. Re-sterilised my lenses and wore glasses :(
I usually keep both the Clear Care solution and a multipurpose solution. I'll use the multipurpose solution for cases when I can't leave them for 6 hours (like taking a nap or something like that). If you drop your lenses, then no solution will really sterilize them instantly no matter how you kept them the night before. Best to just wear glasses at that point.
👍
What is the difference between this and the Kirkland signature multi purpose disinfecting solution? It's made by biotrue just with costco labeling
Good to know! I bet they are similar.
Multi purpose solution usually has preservatives
@@DoctorEyeHealth But H2O2 solutions aren't multipurpose. I'd think the Kirkland solution is more akin to Biotrue multipurpose, not Clear Care, no?
