    Great tutorial! I do love the look and feel of moss stitch, so worth the effort of paying attention and switching it up every stitch.

    Hi love your tutorials i cant find one that teaches decrease and increase moss stich, would love if you could show us please.

      Hi Joyce, yes, there's a dilemma with shaping in moss stitch. You basically have to either decrease two stitches at once, so do a k3tog for example, or very close together, so that the pattern is less jumbled. Oo you can do it and appreciate the quirkiness of the pattern until it corrects itself the next time you decrease on increase nearby.
      I also have chosen to only use moss stitch if I'm not shaping at all, or if I'm shaping at the edges, then it's not noticed when it's finished.
      I don't have a video on this yet, it's such a complex issue with so many flawed solutions.

    I have tried this several times but kept adding stitches. So if you start your first row with a purl then the next row would start with a knit stitch and so on? Is that correct? Thanks

      @KnitWithHannah  2 года назад

      Hi Angharad, the row sequence will depend on the number of stitches. Make sure you're moving the yarn backwards and forwards the front and behind the needles between stitches - that can be the problem with moss stitch adding stitches. Happy knitting 🧶

      @@KnitWithHannah Hi Hannah yes i was doing that moving back and forth but i don’t know where i was going wrong. So the project i am doing now. I have decided to just purl. Thanks for the reply.

    I thought it was an uneven number

      Hi Sally, it can be even or odd number of stitches. The written pattern will be different, but will create the same stitch result. Happy knitting! 🧶

    if you could do all of that but 100x slower that would be great.

    So far my favorite stitch but I'm having the hardest time figuring out how to change yarn colors with the moss stitch

    • @KnitWithHannah
      @KnitWithHannah  6 лет назад

      It's a lovely texture isn't it?... yes you're right, the one problem is changing colour. I've decided to either embrace the awkward change, and then it's best to do it a lot so it seems to be intentional OR stick with one colour and make moss stitch the star of the show.

      Hi Shirley, I'm not showing the specific stitches of knit and purl stitches once you get to this level of knitting. So I'd suggest going back to practice more of the stitches separately before picking up these more complex stitch pattern. Happy knitting 🧶
