  • In this VLOG like video, I am driving my M5 casually in urban traffic, sending the car off to the paint shop.
I enjoy driving this car so much that I think it's about time that I treat it to a nice paint job.

You my friend are in ownership of one of the greatest cars ever made and certainly one of the baddest BMWs ever made. Such a special special car indeed. You are in presence of greatness, best believe that 👌🏿🙏🏿
I had a last year production in Daytona Violet, Nurburgring spec, so has the big brake system and special suspension and with the 3.8Ltr. I sold mine after 17years of ownership on October 2021 to a total bastard(story for another time). That car was sensational, that engine is something to behold with the individual throttle bodies. What a gem, at high rpm wow, car has one of the best engine notes this side of a Maclaren F1 or known to man. It os pure joy. Loved mine despite being simultaneously in ownership of a 993rs tribute. I rate the e34 m5 above all my previous 911’s from an engine perspective ❤️
Research the “Eleckta”Touring e34 m5. They came in Silver and a very Tasty Green. I think that may work for your car as a choice

yes you are right, from an engine point of view the S38 is one of the most charming and soulful engines I have ever owned.
It manages to be smooth and raw at the same time. it has all the right sounds: throaty intake sound - check! hypnotic valve train sound - check! exhaust sound which crescendos near redline - check!
the power delivery is also kind of old school motorsport. you need to use revs to make it pull and sing. modern performance engines have it too easy with their flat torque curves lol.
I tried a e39 M5 recently and it felt soulless compared to the e34. the e39 feels like it can be replaced with an electric drivetrain, but the e34, the engine is the soul of the car.

@@FizzyMotors 💯 % agree, the e34 //m5 is all and totally about that magnificent engine. God forbid you have and fit an eissenmann exhaust system, it will sound better than anything short of a Maclaren F1. I was fortunate to be In presence of one such e34 //m5 in Germany with an eissenmann exhaust set up. You won’t believe your ears(if I had installed it on mine, it’s very likely I’d still have it and gotten rid of the porker instead, simple as), sadly they stopped producing them shortly after before I could purchase one. Great great car, a car that in the manual the manufacturer advises that “after a short stop/ start drive one is advised to drive it at revs of 3k rpm for few miles before parking” 😳 or the fact that it rocks on start up like a true thoroughbred race car, what a machine! I had an e30 m3 Evo at the same time (22years ownership), suffice to say I loved the m5 more. Nuff said. Good luck with your beast 🙏🏿❤️👊🏿

Mine gets repainted as well. 100% original paint. It has a lot of dents. Was owned for 24 years by an older woman. Lived in the city, so its basically bumped everywhere. I bought M-Technic bumpers, M-Aero mirrors, M5 Interior (black leather), oem M5 shift surrounding, M5 door panels, even the M5 pedal support lol, so you know where the journey is going :D Going to keep the paint tho, orientblue, although not a "M5" color. Bought BBS RC035 as well... but still not sure if to put them on or to keep the RH ZW3 18" ...

Sounds like your car has a good clean history.
I like cars owned by old people. Somehow feels more sentimental and collectible. Lol

Which country do you live in brother? and is it too costly to keep a classic like E34?

      Hi bro
      I live in Thailand.
It was quite expensive to get the M5 sorted mechanically. But if you do it right then the car is actually quite reliable.

But how has this car wood package? Individual? I thought all the M5s didnt had it

    • @FizzyMotors
      @FizzyMotors  2 года назад +1

I think the previous owner stuck it on by himself.
I will sort out the interior after the paint.
Normally my work order for restoring old cars will be:
      1) engine / mechanicals/ suspension
      2) exterior/ paint
      3) interior
