Yes they do, Although I don't have it happen often when the layout of my tanks

So, maybe a bare bottom tank would not be so good for mushroom coral?

I don't think it would be a problem because they would just stick to the bottom, if they came into contact with it. It's good to have a substrate anyway, though, because it acts as a biofilter
