I miss Tony in politics. He was an excellent health minister and in retrospect a much better PM than we thought. I was an ALP voter when he came to the PM role. I became an Abbot conservative during his time as PM.
We, along with so called western allies are doing our best in Ukraine to expand the horizons and ferocity of the war. I'm surprised all the emphasis is on the bad behaviour of Putin and not that of NATO and the US Military Industrial complex.
I think how the situation transpired between Ukraine and Russia is more complex than what Mr Abbott has explained here. It goes back to the collapse of the USSR and the vulnerability of Russia that was evident under Boris Yeltsin. Then, we have massive money going through and from Ukraine involving the American Democrat Party. These are components of this situation that cannot be pushed aside. Australia has enough on its plate in the Pacific arena and goodness know what may transpire in the United States in their own domestic sphere.
