    The worst thing that has happened to Australia in my lifetime was Tony being stabbed in the back and ousted by Malcolm Turnbull. Since then the LNP have completely lost their way and are now no better than Labor. Under Turnbull and the weak LNP Prime Ministers who followed him, Australia has suffered through a wasted decade leading to the election of the utterly incompetent Albanese Labor Government. I fear we have seen our last Conservative Government unless we can find a leader like Tony or John Howard to lead the LNP out of the mire they are in. Can't see that happening after the last two generations have been indoctrinated by Marxists to hate everything Australia and the West stands for.

      Yes you are spot on - when they stabbed Abbott in the back, the Coalition effectively committed suicide and withdrew from ever being a viable political force again, making Australia effectively a one-party state. The British conservatives are currently going through the same process to destruction as Australia went through several years earlier.

    “Frankly, it is an unfriendly act on the part of the French not to stamp out the people smuggling trade out of Calais.”
    I can imagine Tony dropping off some smuggled folk back at Calais along with some boxes of Champagne saying “Pardon Monsieur, your borders are leaking.”

    The disappointment of his Prime Ministership is palpable. I suspect that without the ridiculousness of his monarchical obsession losing the focus for middle and working class Australians he could have retained his position in the face of Turnbull and the other turncoats.

      Here in WA we had a very light pandemic and were able to travel to other states if those states were not losers in the pandemic. The loser states were NSW and Vic. When loser states had low covid we could travel there but because they were a bunch of losers that time period was limited.

    At 5 minutes 54 seconds Tony says or claims that there is a Queen of Australia. Can you please prove that Queen Elizabeth II ever had the Title of Queen of Australia. Queen Elizabeth II had the Title of Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britian and Northern Ireland and of her of Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith (the faith being Protestantism) This is a misrepresentation by Tony as no Title exists of the Queen of Australia. And it is really disappointing that your interviewer did not pick up on this.

      Valid points

    • @Xarx3s
      @Xarx3s Год назад +1

      Not true. In 1952, there was a conference of Prime Ministers which did indeed discuss the matter of titles and what she would be called in each of the Commonwealth realms. Australia at the time argued for the United Kingdom to be mentioned in each one of her titles. A compromise was made to list United Kingdom and then the separate Commonwealth realm afterwards. In 1973, the Whitlam government petitioned the crown to drop mention of the United Kingdom from the title in Australia, which received royal ascent later in the year.
      It's up to you which date you take as the creation of the title "Queen of Australia" but as of the 19th of October 1973 the official title in Australia was: Elizabeth the Second, by Grace of God Queen of Australia and Her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth. Which has subsequently passed down to King Charles.

      Only disappointing for Australian 'republicans' who are bitter and twisted that they keep losing the referendums and are therefore a monarchy now and always

    • @donaldgraham6414
      @donaldgraham6414 Год назад

      You are not correct. The Australian Royal Style and Titles Act was amended in 1973 to make her uniquely “Queen of Australia.”
      For further details, see the Wikipedia entry on Monarchy of Australia.
      I believe you are referring to the Queen’s titles as she was (and King Charles now is) addressed in Great Britain. Other protocols apply in the other realms.

  • @nickheath1927

    And the Governor Generals title would also be the Commonwealth of Australia Governor General not Australian Governor General. Oh the lies.

    27:30 MH17 Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 was a passenger flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur that was shot down by Russian-controlled forces on 17 July 2014, while flying over eastern Ukraine. All 283 passengers and 15 crew were killed. In November 2022 a Dutch court found Girkin and two others guilty of murder; the court also ruled that the missile that destroyed the plane had come from Russia and that it had been fired by Russian-led troops in Russian-controlled territory. Tony Abbott recounts his words as actions, Abbott was Prime Minister of Australia at the time. Footage of russian backed rebels looting and plundering the time. Australian and Dutch worked out a military plan to secure the site; then Russia agreed to access to the crash site by police and investigators. Abbot had his famous “Shirt-front conversation” with Putin... “you owe the families of the dead an apology and compensation”... Putin replied with a rant about mother Russia, and Ukraine has no right to exist.
    Later at APEC conference in Beijing, Putin grabbed Abbots elbows, shook him, and told him " you are not a native Australian, but I am a native Russian".
    On reflection, Abbot thinks Putin meant "citizen of a settler society such as Australia has no conception of true blood & soil connection to mystical Russia... Greater Russia, Big Russia, Little Russia white Russia, Ukraine being Little Russia.... Putin sees himself as being on a mission from his God to take back all the lands of greater Russia"
    Ukrainian thing is serious for Europe in general... Baltic states, Georgia , Moldova, Poland.
    Another nasty dictator in North Asia that regards a neighbouring democracy as an annoying rebel province
    **In October 2014, Australia’s prime minister produced blank stares around the globe when he vowed to “shirt-front” President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia over the downing of a Malaysia Airlines plane in Ukraine, in which 28 Australian citizens had been killed.
    Back home, many Australians knew exactly what Tony Abbott, who was then prime minister, was talking about: “Shirt-front” describes charging an opponent in Australian football. But those who didn’t understand had few authoritative sources to consult.
    Until now.
    “Shirt-front” is a new entry in an updated version of the Australian National Dictionary, released Tuesday at a ceremony at the country’s Parliament in Canberra, the capital.

    We can give our political leaders dogs abuse in parliament and still respect our dignified head of state. We have no founding documents to rally around - our system comes down as the accumulation of a 1000 years history and Australia 'won' independence by Act of the Westminster Parliament - but we have a constitutional monarch to embody the sublime beauty of our system. A Republic will be more power to our political class - another ambitious politician on TV every night? No thanks.
