    Looks good, always try to do the back wall first, that
    way the side walls will aid in keeping the water out when they are
    installed against the rear wall. also, you don't have to be "Dead on" when
    cutting the back wall tiles.

  • @Methodical2
    @Methodical2 5 месяцев назад +2

    2 Tips: Tip 1: For the bottom row of tile scribe cuts. Take the tile and place it on the wall with spacer between tub and tile, then flip the tile over (upside down) then trace the cut line on the back of the tile and make the cut. No need to take any measurements. Tip 2: tile back wall 1st all the way to both sides (leave small expansion gap) and tile side walls to the back wall. This will hide the grout line and if you have to make any custom cuts because of bad wall you can hide it.

    Im getting ready to do my shower. I decided on 12 x 24 as well. Issue here is tile company recommended 3/16 grout lines but I don’t like that. What size lines are those? I’m a bit worried if I got 1/16 and something comes off 😂 I’ll be using the self leveling system as well and it’s non rectified. 🤷🏽‍♂️

    Hi,
    I have been wondering if it looks OK to install 12" x 24" in a 33"x34" shower. It seems yours is lf similar dimensions. I had the impression the tiles were too large for a small shower room, but they look good in your video. What do you think?

  • @sandracohen8481
    @sandracohen8481 5 месяцев назад

    What are the dimensions of the shower. Can you put these 12 by 24 in a shower that has a measurement of 47 in on the back wall and 31 on the short walls

    Very decent job slow and fiddly but far better than any so called pros would do... Usually they're just fast and furious but result is absolutely awful.

    Is the tile porcelain? How thick is the tile? I am getting ready to tile my shower wall. I need ideas.

    • @zackcrafted
      @zackcrafted  5 месяцев назад

      This was porcelain, if I remember correctly, and it was 3/8” thick I believe.

      @@zackcrafted i already have my tile. Its 12 x 24" porcelain. I wanted to cut it down some so it would be easier to work with. This tile is very hard to cut. You really did a great job on your shower.

  • @oldhippie8774
    @oldhippie8774 11 месяцев назад

    Ask! If 1 tile is slightly lower than the next and you use the leveling system, you raise one tile to level it, if so don't you lose contact with the tile adhesive???

    • @zackcrafted
      @zackcrafted  11 месяцев назад +1

      Good question! There is lots of suction, so while the tile will lose some contact, correcting the tile and making it even with another tile, within reason, shouldn’t cause complete loss of contact. There’s enough suction from the adhesive to pull some of the adhesive up with the tile, bridging any gaps. Then, once it’s dry, it’s good to go

    • @oldhippie8774
      @oldhippie8774 11 месяцев назад

      @@zackcrafted Thank you for your explanation, does this also apply to floor tiles? Or is that point weaker than the rest of the tile?

    • @zackcrafted
      @zackcrafted  11 месяцев назад

      I would think that it would technically be weaker then not having self levelling clips.
      But the manufactures stand by their products so they must work well! @@oldhippie8774

    Question : What is the depth of your edging trim?

    • @zackcrafted
      @zackcrafted  Месяц назад +1

      hey great question, I can't remember what the tile thickness was for this job, best bet is to match up the tile edging with the tile at the store. I personally like using something thats 1/8th bigger, this allows for thinnest behind the tile where the trim metal flange is.

      Ya you can, doesn’t really matter, I switch it up depending on layout, sometimes I like having an extra 1/4 of play on my short walls, knowing that the back wall tile will cover up that gap
