Many years ago, I had the opportunity to listen in Mexico City the interpretations of the Chilean Claudio Arrau, but not even they have moved me as much as Kate Liu.
Si esta jovencita llegara a grabar toda la obra de Chopin, me apresuraría a contar con ella. Creo sinceramente que esta gran pianista está más cerca del espíritu de Chopin que colegas suyos que gozan de mayor fama.
Evidentemente, la mazurka era el género con el que Chopin se sentía más a gusto. Y hay que reconocer que Kate Liu es una excelente intérprete de estas danzas tan características del compositor de alma eslava y latina.

I have often found Arrau's performances to be technically polished but rather shallow emotionally. Liu's performance is anything but.
