this is great, I've always wondered how to do this. thank you! can't wait for the follow up. how did you go about making the print on the transparent paper?
+Delirium Trigger Great question. I have a local print shop that has a "large format" printer with transparency, and they print these out for me. However, if you can't find a print shop that will do it, you can buy 11x17 transparency paper online in a pack of 100. They work with any laser printer out there.
Ty - this was such a great help to me, i'm actually able to do it now. Struggling with discharge ink a little, the images come out spotty instead of smooth. I've been mixing in 5% per the activators instruction, maybe I should go down to 3%?
Yeah it's weird. I measure out exactly the right amount of activator and ink, subtract the weight of the cup and mix it. But then the image comes through spotty, some areas super white, others almost a dull grey.
@@snaggletoothdecay If you're doing the discharge ALONE (with no pigment added), you may be running into different color qualities of cotton. You can try one of two things: either add a bit MORE discharge (like 7%), or you can buy some white pigment to add in 10% white pigment
@ Appreciate it. Thank you. I recently discovered your page, and I love the content. I’m the vocalist of a band myself and struggle with actually getting things done. Your channel helps a lot

this video has the same energy as an episode of Good Eats and that made me very happy :)
How did I miss this? Good stuff.

Spotty in the discharge phase? The color not fully coming through? Let me know what you mean and I’ll see if I can come up with a solution

@@LordsoftheTrident ok i'll try that. I have only been doing white on black so far ink-wise.
For the screen itself, would cheesecloth be acceptable to use?
Probably not, as it stretches too much
