I really appreciated how you talked about faulty equipment in the beginning can mess your head up when trying to learn. I think that’s so overlooked in why people give up alot
Used this press for years, still do. Best thing to do is have the rings on the carousel "horizontal" so the springs don't stack on each other. And if you can't get the gate and arm plate to lock in place without movement, then wrap the little plate with some painters tape and you are good to go. One last thing is replace the platen board, i found the original started to sag down after some time causing ink to not go through the screen properly. 👍👍👍
I’m very interested in getting this press. I was thinking electric tape to wrap around the loose arms. I have a platen from ryonet I can use from my one color. What do mean by horizontal with the springs? I’m always afraid of some final destination thing happening with those things lol
My daughter and I are adding screen printing to our list of artistic endeavors. Add more to our product list. Your video was the most informative one out there, especially with the same starter press I just ordered. Keep it up, man!!!! Great work!!!!
Bro-turn the bearings around on the platen arm; have the bearings face forward towards the print station. So that when you lower the screen, the the rectangular metal piece on the print arm engages in between the two bearings. That should help with registration so that you could print multicolor.
Just wanted to tell you, I’m proud of you young man you are handling your business and my prayer is that you prosper as your soul prosperous. God bless.
I bought my press from EBay same as that but darker blue. Minor adjustments were needed to 2 arms and screen mounts needed to be tipped forward by an 1/32 it took around 3 days to get it working great. I now do mainly CMYK prints without much hassle. Worth the time spent
I just watched this whole video and I don't even own a screen press. You sir are making me wanting to get one and really start something up. Thank you. You have gained a follower from corpus Christi TX
This tutorial is fantastic! I love it, I’m building my own pressing business aside from my manicuring business and this was super helpful. Thank you so much for sharing
I had the same press... I tried many times to adjust it and to make it work with halftones but all my attempts failed.. I then took it apart and built a small ( merry go round ) with it for my two little kids. I cut a perfect circle thick wood.. centered it on top of the press after taking the arms off.. built a strong base and my kids were happy ... and so was I :) Nice tutorial my friend... thank you.
You have broken this down so brilliantly, and after 40yrs in the print industry. I use a cheap press with 1 to 2 colour prints and now do a great business at home. It"s all about your technic and what works for you and keep it simple to start out.
Thanks for this video. Thinking of getting into screenprinting and kept looking at this press to get started. From your info, I am definitely going to buy it knowing that it will still produce great work even if it's a bit finicky. Seems like it would still work well for two color jobs where ink isnt close to each other.
U did an absolutely amazing video I seen a print press in Facebook for sale I went to you tube to see what the hell it was ur video came up first and the explanation of the exact item that was for sale. I hope the best for u keep doin what ur doin many pros can't even get videos together. You got out and became somebody A1
Wow your video is so well done! I really appreciate you pointing out the limitations of this machine. Also thank you so.much for the "how to grow your online business" at the end!
Hi i am just starting to look at screen printing love your channel i was wondering i get how you printed off 1 film to do one color but do you have a video that shows how to do the films for the different colours
This is the first video I’ve seen that broke it down and Made it understandable for me. I’m looking to add screen printing 1-2 color jobs to my current business as affordably and with as little space taken as possible
Humongous props for uploading. I have been thinking of buying this press from Amazon. (It has several "brand names" but all of them are the same item.) Currently I only do one-color and two-color prints, so I think it will do for the time being.
What would be the next updated press to buy i looked at this one before i came across this video and the first thing i seen was there was not really a micro registration which i figured would be a headache
You’ll probably never see this since the videos is kind of old *BUT* I can see a lot of people buying shirts that are some what abstract. Like not have the windows line up perfect or have the borders or (in this case) windows of the building be crooked. So you could still use the negative aspects of that press to your advantage. Not everything has to be perfect. Plus, the fact that it’s not intentional would make each shirt a bit different from the last. Keep up the hard work. Just stumbled on your channel while looking for videos on how presses work. 👌🏽
Thanks for the great information. I liked and subscribed. This end of year I want to learn how to produce one color really good work. What set up do you recommend to get down with some great work in one color? I don't want cheap stuff I want the goods. Thanks
Thanks for the sub! I have 2 videos on this topic one. They are called everything tou need to start screen printing. And the second is called - cheap vs expensive screen printing equipment hope they help ..
Thank you! I have been struggling with my ‘blue press’ and getting disheartened. I loved the advice. Simple colours colours- simple designs, and then upgrade! 👍🏼🙌
Hey bro started the same as you I even made a shirt for my self to start as the Sanchez the Entrepreneur haha lol, and I also bought the 4 color press which I only used 2 times with only single color because of the same issue. I love screen printing but due to my working space I only do DTF printing but once I am able to do screen printing I will.
Never seen printing how to videos be so simple. You break things down in ways that make sense. How long would you say the wash life of shirts that are cured using a heat press ?
I also started with that press... it was a waste of money. Put me in a tight spot when I got a job for a 2 color design. Ended up just giving it away and warning the person that it could only do 1 color. Borrowed some money from family and got me a riley 250. It was like night and day. Now I can make CMYK shirts with ease.
love you videos. i'm thinking about getting the "Riley Hopkins 150 1 Color 1 Station Screen Printing Press". Good machine based on your experience with the brand?
Wow just watched this, thanks bro..your video really explained everything I wanted to know abt using that particular blue press and how to build up from there, u just earned a subscriber!👌
Mylo! I love your videos my man. I’m so happy I found this video I was looking into this press machine. Would you recommend it still or do you have an alternative beginners press machine around the same price?
@@dr.scanlan6112 i would a the blue Amazon press, go with micros, yes you can find a good press for less than 1k look for Riley Hopkins 4/1, I have a 6/4 Riley Hopkins but feel limited with amount of colors, currently looking for. 8/6
Question Sir. So are you saying because of the registration these kind of printers can not do a 4 color process? I appreciate the example of the buildings being gray and then the windows being blue. Rather couldnt you just do a CMYK of the whole image giving you a broader spectrum of color theory. So like take the building with the windows example and do a Cyan Layer, then a yellow layer, then black, and Magenta to give you A building that is like the empire state with a new york setting drop. Like a real picture taken by camera then saved as a high res jpeg then translate into the necessary screen percentages? Get it? Let me know please.
Just like you it was Reyes the entrepreneur made me purchase the blue press only to realise doing four colours is impossible But its serving me when doing one and two colours well Hopefully that I will purchase a better press come next year
Nice job I have everything I was excited but i did vinyl stencil and it did not work as i want it to. How much space it should be from the screen to the pallet. Thank you
just shim the one with play in it, get some shim metal and shim it up, taking time when your burn your screens to make sure the registration crosshairs are equidistant from the bottom and side of the screens on all screens will make your life easier. I encourage anyone doing this tow purchase a $20 set of calipers and a $20 digital micrometer. This way you can setup each screen exactly the same location on all color ways. I’m coming from a precision machining background and deal with aligning and bringing machines into true all the time. It’s really about measurements. I see so many screen printers try to visually align their setups and it’s just not practical. That $40 in measurement equipment with save you $40k in time lost trying to do it visually.
I was thinking about buying one of these before I invested alot of money on a God to make sure I could do it. Is it worth the time and money buying this?
I’ve been having the same problem and I can’t seem to figure it out. The image initially comes out light so I try to put another layer on it and as I do that half of the image stays light while apart of the image is kinda thick with rough glop looking
bagus juga alat sablon yang anda punya jadi hemat ruangan dan bagaimana kalau motifnya disyiennya atau di enam warna apakah berbayang atau bagaimana dan berapa harga mesin pres sablon

Do you have any suggestions on alternative platens to use? Or just get replacements of the same platens?
It`s a fine press, you just need to put extra effort to calibrate everything right and be careful.
Hopefully this video help in anyway. feel free to ask for anything about screen printing on the comments. have a beautiful day and God Bless
You really made this simple to understand. Thanks man!
This is actually what I've been looking for in a review of this. I've been looking at it just to do my own single possibly 2 color print shirts.

Good to see your not afraid of showing how you started . Very well done .
HI, Mylo 👋. Do you ever used water base paints?
awesome I got old bluey too to learn on, keep pushing ink!
lets keep pushing
At 8:46, I thought we were going to hear some Reggae music, but I then realised it was the springs creaking. 😁
Do you have to flash dry ink on single color or can you just hang to dry?
depends on what ink your using, water base ink you could let it hand dry. But plastisol you have to heat it up.
What ink would you recommend for printing on a flat black powder coated metal surface that will be kept outside?
Thank you! I have been struggling with my ‘blue press’ and getting disheartened. I loved the advice. Simple colours colours- simple designs, and then upgrade! 👍🏼🙌
How do u like the joy stick registration on the Hopkins press? Most of the new ones have the X/Y. Looking at the Riley 250. U Rock man!! 😊
Anything is better than the joystick to be honest but I got use to it for now ..lolz
@@myloprints Thanks. Real world feedback. Wanted to try it. However with that info ... Probably not. Appreciate it 👍😁

Great information my guy! Definitely love the full explanations of the why's.

How long would you say the wash life of shirts that are cured using a heat press ?
Honestly I really don’t know .. but I have a couple shirts that have a little over 30 washes .. and still holding on pretty well
how do i create screen print designs. what kind of colors / paint do I use?

4:10…. So many times I’ve felt this way, and now with better equipment and experience my prints come out amazing
So what equipment do you use? Can a good press be bought for under $1,000?

I have the same cheap one and I have about an inch of space from the screen and the wood slab. How do I adjust it to fit directly on the wood
Super helpful, thanks!
Shout out to Reyes , Thanks for the Free99 Knowledge Mylo
Always great content! Thanks man!
Great video! Thanks Mylo!!
Maybe add an audio track over videos of the hands on work, with clock transitions. I love your videos tho...
Thanks for the video. I just picked one off of FB marketplace. What is the spray you sprayed on the pallet?
Tack..or glue
What spray adhesive would you recommend?
I would recommended to get the glue. But i will do a short video tomorrow on this. so you could see the scary bottle
I want to print hoodies, would you still cure with a heat press or would it be better with a flash dryer?
Which brand is the machine Vevor? Thank you for this video.

I used one for a few months, it was the first thing I replaced when I expanded my shop. Even the basic Reily Hopkins is 100X better.
i figured that because it 100x the price
What do you recommend for a beginner that is sturdy and has proper registration?
Keep up the videos. Thank you
I love your videos
Great video. Subscribed ❤
Dude I'm getting a screen press. Thanks I'm gonna ask a lot of questions
Go for it … the more questions you ask the more ideas I get to create content 😁🤘❤️
can you print full images with such press or just monochrome stuff?
so i want to get into screen printing can you suggest one to get into i just wanna do single or maybe double no more than that yet.
Which one do you recommend for single color
Dang soo glad I did not purchase one. I really want to layer multiple colors.
Keep up the work! Great videos!
Does it come with the pallet or did you have to buy it separately?
Yes it comes with the pallet 😁🤘
