There are more sides to it.
Over-exposure to the internet for young people = bad.
And, the internet is not universally good for everyone, for some, it makes them hurt, feel how actually people are so far away, and all that bad stuff gathered together and sensionalized.
The internet's main effect is *connection* , be it of goodness or of bad.
In a place where everything gathers, darkness is part of it too.

This song is amazing. I have been suffering from depression ever since my only sibling and best friend passed away 3 and 2 years ago. The contrasts and crescendos fill up a part of my soul that has been empty for a while. This is the first comment I have ever written on RUclips, and I just want to give my sincere and heartfelt thanks to Eric Whitacre for the beauty he brings to the world. I had the privilege of singing Water Night with my high school choir, and I will never forget how it made me feel so alive. Thank you so much, Mr. Whitacre.

Man, I wish I had access to this many singers. Seriously, half of what makes this sound so awesome is the sheer mass numbers of singers. Every tiny influction of every singer just adds this chilling effect. It doesn't matter if you are perfectly in tune. Heck, it's what makes orchestras have such a great sound when you have more strings. All it takes is 8000 singers and you have one of the most magical sounds that we could produce.
    Now imagine this live...

And all I want to do is

Wow, it has been some time since I have listened to this. Thanks to all who have taken time to be so kind and jot down your positive comments. I discovered Eric Whitacre while just casually surfing the Internet for new songs for my voice students, right after his first Virtual Choir piece. The word was out and videos for a new piece called “Sleep” were being accepted. Who knew these would be so powerfully amazing. After participating in a few of these and introducing students and recording their videos for submission, I submitted an audition to sing in a production of Mr. WHITACRE’S at Carnegie Hall in the spring of 2013 and was accepted. “Fly to Paradise” videos were to be submitted that year and I auditioned for one of the short solos and much to my surprise was chosen to to sing those two words, “just fly” and at 3:26 I felt like I could have flown. It meant so much as I had met so many in New York that I had sung virtually with in previous productions. During the COVID Lockdown, we all came together, separately once again and did “Sing Gently,” the largest VC yet. Music has such a remarkable ability to accomplishment much in a person’s life. If you have the opportunity to participate in one of these productions, do it, everyone’s video is accepted and you will be forever glad you did it.🎶

Wow, this is so beautiful. I'm in a marching band, and our show for this year is entitled: "The Call." It's a tribute to the men and women who were attacked in the events of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. On our closer, we play this masterpiece about halfway through the closer, and it blows me away every time I hear it. I absolutely can't wait till our band goes to Hawaii and perform this to the surviving veterans from WWII. God bless you to all those who served, or who are are currently serving. :)

This is definitely something that's inspired me to try something far more ambitious -- a choir of 10000 in all varieties of voices ... single-handedly. I've not yet gone over 60 but did so at a rate that would have allowed around 500 in a day.
