Mandi Gabler This is both f**ked up and a kind gesture once you think about it. Not having your religion accepted is honestly something really tough, but Mary had no other choice with Elizabeth.
Mary loved small children. She felt them innocent of sin. She did not like her half-sister that much due to circumstances that their father created. Mary did consider Elizabeth a bastard. There is documentation that during the lives of Jane Seymour, and Catherine Parr, as well as the life of Edward VI, things between the two sisters was cordial. However, once Mary took the throne, and tried to return England to the Catholic fold, this soured. I wouldn't call them close in any fashion. Mary was highly jealous of her younger sister. Mary clearly loved Elizabeth. Elizabeth was bastardised through no fault of her own, and was similarly treated as a disappointment by her father and members of the court. In the message, Boleyn is meant to have profusely apologised to Mary; both for her role in her torment, and potentially for her role in the "annulment." It is unclear whether Mary accepted the apology, as Mary had loathed and rebuked some of the attempts made by Boleyn to "reconcile." However, what is clear is after this apology, Mary took Elizabeth under her wing and genuinely loved and cared for her. Mary also had, for the most part, a warm relationship with Edward. Edward even declared her "his favourite." Mary was particularly hurt by a rather public argument and fight when Edward was king, in which the 13 year old boy demanded her submission to the new reformist agenda. Both parties ended up bursting into tears during the argument. Whether Anne's apology was genuine or a way to try and protect Elizabeth it's hard to say. But it's clear Mary was not the cold hearted tyrant she is often depicted, and clearly loved both Elizabeth and Edward.

I just realised during her reign Elizabeth was the last Tudor left. She really was all alone, never marrying, no children. She only had her cousin, and we all know how that turned out.
I know I'm kinda late but can I just say how much respect I have for Queen Elizabeth I This lady was abused in so many ways as a child, teenager and adult, she started her reign in a sexist and patriotic society. Had to convince everyone that she was worthy the whole of her reign, ruled alone, had no children, put her people before everything. And when her reign ended her people loved her so much they wanted another queen. W H A T ! ? That's insane for that day and age! Now I wish we had a Six sequel... Three (For the last three Tudor monarchs but add Phillip II, Mary Queen of Scots, and others so that it wouldn't be comprised of very few songs.) Anyways love the video! I love Tudor history so it's great to see something like this! Edit: Y'all calm down this is an older comment where I didn't know much about any of Henry's other kids plus I literally wrote for the three Tudor monarchs so I think that implies that it meant the three legitimate children of Henry.
Maybe it would be called The Tudor Children??? Three doesnt have a good ring to it. (While writing this, I thought of a line dialogue) Edward:You've heard of our mothers and father...our mothers got their own musical! But tonight, it's our turn in spotlight! Elizabeth: Well, I already HAD the spotlight. Mary: So did I! Elizabeth: You didnt exactly go down in history as a "good person" though, did you? Mary: Shut it! You're just mad that I locked you up! Edward: Girls...
I love the way she cried for Mary and Edward it shows even if they have different mothers they are still siblings the fact they have disputes they cared for each other deeply as they all went through something hard under their father rule Such lovely emotions she must stay strong for all of them the past queens, her mother her half siblings and for england I love this 💖❤😍😭
I consider myself a history buff, and I’ve always thought Elizabeth was just an amazing figure to read of, from her tragic life before ascending to the throne, to her policies as queen, to the way she absolutely turned the sexist rules of marriage at the time in her favour. She and her grandfather, Henry VII, are my two favourite English monarchs to read about for those reasons. To add to that, I love Elton John, with I’m still standing being my favourite song of his (although Crocodile Rock and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road run close seconds). This song is amazing. To finalize this, that song is an absolutely perfect fit for that historical figure, and the great artwork is chocked full of great historical references shown at moments in the song that perfectly reflect chapters of Elizabeths story. Well done, this is an incredible and I will be showing to my other friends who know history!
The weridest thing that happened? I cried: Why? Because Elton made that song about even if people don’t respect you, You better damn respect yourself and build your life up from hurt, and I was confronted with that before I watched it. Before I paused it, put it down, 10 minutes later, in tears coming back, not remembering what video I was watching, then I came back too this. Thank you, for making this, even if impacts two years later.
I started to tear up at that last part. When I saw all the other queens, I was thinking, "Huh, where's Elizabeth's mom?" When I saw her in front of the throne waiting for her, daughter, though, I got really emotional for a moment. This is really good work. (I also love Annapantsu's work. You chose a good song for this. :) )
Omg the way you drew out her eldest half sister and her cousin looking guilty for not giving her her rightful place on the throne sooner and how Henry’s spirit was black and her mother’s was a very light green was perfect
That was her brother, Edward VI of England, he had just as tragic a life as his siblings, Elizabeth and Mary, while on the throne, being put on at age 9 and was a puppet to his uncles and the government, he died at 15 of tuberculosis and was never ready for the throne, and despite being Henry's only son (which he wanted desperately), he was shoved away as an "Oh, finally!" and never got any real love apart from his mother in the short 2 weeks after his birth. Sorry for the long paragraph, I'm just as much a history nerd as a bunch of other people in the comments section.
PurplePanda yea I realized that but if we’re being real here non of the Aragón,Broylenn or Seymour children had it easy and it was the 15th century didn’t have any medical supplies as we do now in the 21st century or the laws so it’s because of this poor Mary of Aragón and Edward were suffering the most medically physically and emotionally
Vanessa Lugo *cracking knuckles* here we go When Edward was king he wasn’t really in charge but his government of power hungry individuals. One of which was Edward Seymour his uncle. Edward had another uncle Thomas Seymour who sexual abused Elizabeth and was her guardian while he was married Catherine Parr. Thomas tried to kidnap Edward because he was jealous of his brothers power over the king and wanted it for his own. It didn’t end well and he was begrudged. This is important because Elizabeth was thought to be part of the plot and Edwards government interrogated her and her household to see if she was trying to usurp her brother but there was no evidence so she managed to live she would have probably been executed if they had anything that slightly implied she was in a relationship with him (mind you he was 40 and she was *14*) The reason she was imprisoned was because of her sister Mary I when she was queen. She was devout catholic and try to “purify” England by burning and killing Protestants. Elizabeth was one and a princess so many Protestant uprising used her as a figure head and wanted to replace Mary with her. Mary has locked her in the Tower of London in the same place Elizabeth’s mother (Anne Boleyn) had been before he beheading. Mary almost executes her but didn’t in the end sending her away to be under house arrest. She’s distant with her siblings because of what they put her through (wasn’t really Edward but drama) Hope this was helpful :)
Appreciate the detail with Thomas Seymour. Catherine was in love with him but I don't think many people realize that he had been preying after Elizabeth even after Catherine married him
Yes it would be pretty awesome if you did more about them espacially the three Siblings and their relationship and about Mary Stuart! And it hurted a bit when you made the ghosts if Edward and Mary... But still you made Edward so cute and adorable!
Queenspirations: Mary I: Lady Gaga, Amanda Palmer Elizabeth I: Demi Lovato Edward VI: young Michael Jackson maybe Mary, Queen of Scots: Taylor Swift because of her relationship drama

Elizabeth: look you guys put me through shit but I am the one how made our kingdom great I made our blood line great and I ended it and I am the only tutor who ruled with pride
Honestly I always love Elizabeth 1! she had to struggles despite her circumstances and outcomes. At end finally getting recognize and praise from the public’s. Also, securely the throne giving her mother (Anne Boleyn) justice and saving the Tudor family from future harm by putting end to Tudor’s. Also great job on the video and song choice.
Y'all realize the irony of the song because before Elizabeth died she didn't allow herself to rest and kept on standing til she finally collapsed and died, looking like snow white has it's flaws.
Something I find interesting is that Elizabeth's outfit doesn't look much like anyone's, unlike Mary who had an outfit like Catherine of Aragons. She has more of a mix of Anne's and Catherine's, which I think is more representative of her finding a midway for England.
I love ALL of this! I love the Six ghost queens doting on Elizabeth in the beginning and looking so proud of her, I love Elizabeth acknowledging and having complicated feelings about her siblings Edward and Mary, (because wow did their dad screw them up) but still ultimately being sad they were gone (at least that's how I read it). Despite everything everyone did to lock her up and throw away the key, she ends up on the throne, and SHE ends up as famous, or even more so, than her father! And that last ending with her mother is so, so sweet, because Anne died when Elizabeth was so young...
Elizabeth stood for her family, she knew she would always love her siblings, but she couldn't let her sadness at their loss control her life. Her only chance was to continue to try and make things function
It's a testament to how amazing everything else here is that it took me until the fifth watch-through to realize that QE1 is wearing _trunk hose._ Slashed, puffed, typically worn with a codpiece - those things. And yet they match her sleeves, and their volume is a nice callback to Anne Boleyn's full skirt, and by some ineffable magic they don't make her look like an idiot. Trunk hose. How did you _do_ that?

I just realised during her reign Elizabeth was the last Tudor left. She really was all alone, never marrying, no children. She only had her cousin, and we all know how that turned out.

I know I'm kinda late but can I just say how much respect I have for Queen Elizabeth I
This lady was abused in so many ways as a child, teenager and adult, she started her reign in a sexist and patriotic society. Had to convince everyone that she was worthy the whole of her reign, ruled alone, had no children, put her people before everything. And when her reign ended her people loved her so much they wanted another queen. W H A T ! ? That's insane for that day and age!
She's amazing and you can't convince me otherwise
Also, amazing animatic I LOVE it!
Yes!
Didn’t she continue with a plantation that forced hundreds if not thousands out of their homes
She was pretty badass
i respect her but i dont really admire, she may have done lots of things but she also did lots of bad things, but i have a ton of respect for her. Very strong, and a huge historic figure
Elizabeth be like:

*YEAH FRICK YOU DAD*
*YEAH SCREW OFF HENRY*

They should make this an actual musical. BUT CAN WE TALK ABOUT HOW SHE DESIGNED ELIZABETH I LIKE OMG SHES SO PERFECT-
The only flaw here is that Elizabeth should be a red-head. Like having the dye is fine but the brown bit should be reddy-orange like Elizabeth's hair actually was.

Sad truth about Elizabeth after her mother died and Henry died Catherine parr was like a second mother to her however she died in childbirth (kinda like Jane) and Thomas seymour (pars husband after Henry) cheated on her
Poor Catherine and Elizabeth
Catherine Parr you mean? Huh. I always thought the one who took the role of Second Mother was Anne/Anna of Cleves. Heard that Parr was actually a pretty bad stepmother who joined her husband in abusing Elizabeth (though she did stop when it got too far).
@@loserme414 yes Anna was also a good step mother but Catherine parr never hurt Elizabeth and Thomas only really got bad after Catherine's death (as you can see in the back story part of the video holding Elizabeth)
@@Fedski_doodles She didn't really hurt Elizabeth, just held her while she was tickled and her clothes being shredded.
DayDream Fan Dubs Thomas also sexually abused Elizabeth…
ToastyRamen :p yes and i believe catherine knew about the sexual abuse. She stood by which still, being an onlooker and walking by makes you just as bad.
i love the expressions and personality u give elizabeth !!! the way u conveyed how she was successful even with all the hardships and abuse she endured

To be fair, the other wives of Henry after Anne had a really big hand in raising her. Especially Catherine Parr for making sure Elizabeth was highly educated and let her live with her after Henry's passing.
Catherine also let her husband (or her uncle's brother I'm not sure) molest her!
@@gastii6613 Yes but I think that was because she didn't know what was happening at the time her husband molest her, so she just played along. Please correct me if I'm wrong I have very limited knowledge of this--
She made sure for a year. She died in 1548 just a year after Henry
@@yannahealer3617 it’s a bit hit and miss
Catherine Parr tickled and also held down Elizabeth etc whilst her husband stripped Her, including Cutting off her clothes. Elizabeth also complained Seymour had a more sinister motive behind his teasing but was ignored.
Only when Parr once found the pair in a far less ambiguous situation did she put a stop to it and even kicked Elizabeth out of the house later on.
Parr for the most part made a real effort (like Jane Seymour before her) to reconcile the children to both their father and to each other.
Edward referred to her, rather sweetly as his “most dear mother” that from who he had received so many benefits from you that my mind can hardly grasp them."”
Mary and Elizabeth also got on very well with Parr.

Elizabeth was truly the pinnacle of a Renaissance Woman during that time
The moment at the end when she brushes aside Henry and sees Anne really is beautiful. Overcoming the memory of the man who made her life hell and took her mother from her, and being able to see her mother one last time before she truly comes into her own.
WHY DOESN'T THIS HAVE MORE VIEWS??
Seriously, the Queens, Mary and Edward is perfect then Anne at the end its just *chef's kiss*
Now I wanna see a musical of the queens daughters and sons. 😭
@Lauzorry La Zorrita if you need a voice actor, I can do it lol
I could sing annapantsus I'm still standing as Elizabeth!
Now I wish we had a Six sequel...
Three
(For the last three Tudor monarchs but add Phillip II, Mary Queen of Scots, and others so that it wouldn't be comprised of very few songs.)
Anyways love the video!
(While writing this, I thought of a line dialogue)
Edward:You've heard of our mothers and father...our mothers got their own musical!

I love the way she cried for Mary and Edward it shows even if they have different mothers they are still siblings the fact they have disputes they cared for each other deeply as they all went through something hard under their father rule
Such lovely emotions she must stay strong for all of them the past queens, her mother her half siblings and for england I love this 💖❤😍😭
I consider myself a history buff, and I’ve always thought Elizabeth was just an amazing figure to read of, from her tragic life before ascending to the throne, to her policies as queen, to the way she absolutely turned the sexist rules of marriage at the time in her favour.
This is so cool, they should totally do a new stage show with more of the queens of england / wives of kings, that would be so amazing
And then she went on to be the best monarch the world has ever
If I could say anything to the Tudor Kids, I would say ‘You made a difference and touched hearts even after you died. Good job. :)’
Yes well done Mary. Burning all those catholics and Imprisoning your sister! You really touched our hearts with that.
@@sunshinesolace3540 Mary wasn't always that way though. She did care for the people until she went insane.
Can a history buff explain why she was in jail and why her siblings seem so distant??
Vanessa Lugo *cracking knuckles* here we go
When Edward was king he wasn’t really in charge but his government of power hungry individuals. This is important because Elizabeth was thought to be part of the plot and Edwards government interrogated her and her household to see if she was trying to usurp her brother but there was no evidence so she managed to live she would have probably been executed if they had anything that slightly implied she was in a relationship with him (mind you he was 40 and she was *14*)
The reason she was imprisoned was because of her sister Mary I when she was queen.
She’s distant with her siblings because of what they put her through (wasn’t really Edward but drama)
Hope this was helpful :)
Thank you for your time history buff🙏🏽
Vanessa Lugo no problem at all! Love history and lizzy so it was a pleasure!
Arty E Dang they did all that to her and she didn’t even do anything, poor girl :c...
Geez, it sounds like the uncle used and manipulated the hell out of baby Edward.
such iconic queen, history loves her and she deserves it.
Six made me investigate about the Tudor’s and Elizabeth was my favorite
The other queens coming in like her version of the muses
Ikr! I love this
I actually studied a lot of history, and I read that Edward always treated Elizabeth with respect, unlike Mary who imprisoned her.
This should be the next musical about a famous person in history called “Elizabeth#1”
Or "SIX:The Newly Reigns"
A pop/rock musical about Queen Liz? Count me the hell in!
“Legacy of 6”
honestly elizabeth becoming queen is the biggest troll of the century
Appreciate the detail with Thomas Seymour. Catherine was in love with him but I don't think many people realize that he had been preying after Elizabeth even after Catherine married him
Yes it would be pretty awesome if you did more about them espacially the three Siblings and their relationship and about Mary Stuart! And it hurted a bit when you made the ghosts if Edward and Mary... But still you made Edward so cute and adorable!

fun/sad fact, when Elizabeth was dying, instead of laying down on her deathbed, she stood for fifteen hours for she feared that she would never get back up. Until she finally collapsed on the cushions her ladies in waiting laid out for her to collpase in
Anne Boleyn made the absolute right choice when she chose to die for Liz, I wish I could tell them both how proud I am of them

*Anne shows up, proud of her daughter*
hA TOTALLY NOT CRYING RIGHT NOW
Honestly I always love Elizabeth 1! she had to struggles despite her circumstances and outcomes. At end finally getting recognize and praise from the public’s. Also, securely the throne giving her mother (Anne Boleyn) justice and saving the Tudor family from future harm by putting end to Tudor’s. Also great job on the video and song choice.
I love the queens just being proud and supporting
Y'all realize the irony of the song because before Elizabeth died she didn't allow herself to rest and kept on standing til she finally collapsed and died, looking like snow white has it's flaws.
At the end she was like “Look mom, I’m still here!”
Something I find interesting is that Elizabeth's outfit doesn't look much like anyone's, unlike Mary who had an outfit like Catherine of Aragons. She has more of a mix of Anne's and Catherine's, which I think is more representative of her finding a midway for England.
Omg i love Elizabeth and her design
Okay, I cried when she saw her mom. Beautiful video! I love your art style ❤
Now that Elizabeth, Mary, and Edward have their own solo song the 3 should do a trio song
Elizabeth I was literally one of the best queens ever. Her and Anne Boleyn got the last laugh at Henry.
Elizabeth a GIRL became one of the best ruler of the UK.
Henry: *WAIT THATS ILLEGAL!!!!!!*
If Anne Boleyn was still alive at that time, she will be proud😭❤️
Elizabeth stood for her family, she knew she would always love her siblings, but she couldn't let her sadness at their loss control her life. Her only chance was to continue to try and make things function
Can't. Stop. REPLAYING!

tbh a Hamilton-style musical featuring Henry VIII's children would be pretty exciting
