    Thank you so much for being honest about this product. I am here after a search for "Problems with Siser Easy Color DTV. I watched many, many videos and everyone had nothing but great things to say about this product. I bought 25 sheets of it and proceeded to make 25 t-shirts to sell in my shop and a couple for my grandkids. My grands loved the shirts, but I noticed that their designs had color runs and were very very faded after just one wash. Blues were purple and reds were pink indicating that there was ink loss. I went back and washed the other t's and yes, they faded well beyond being sellable. I am bummed and my wallet is about $55 lighter. This is not the product I thought it was going to be. Likely no other You Tube channel owners will see this post, but I just want to say to them that they do the public a great disservice by presenting this as a fantastic product when in fact it is not. I take pride in the quality of my shirt designs and what is being touted as great results on these channels won't cut it in public sales. Again thank you for your honesty.

      Thank you for such a sweet comment! You just made my whole day! I really try to be honest and when I say I love something I mean it and when something isn’t amazing I try to be honest about that too. It means a lot that you took the time to share your thoughts and feelings with me. I hope you have a wonderful week!

    I used the StarCraft for a kids shirt years ago. It took quite a awhile before the ink started to fade or crack. the most important thing is to follow the wash instructions from the Siser or StarCraft.

    I don't know what cycle you used or if they were washed inside out or not (I'm guessing not since you said a zipper or button likely scratched it) but I wonder if you wash inside out, gentle cycle, with similar lighter fabrics and hang to dry what the difference might be?! I try to wash like fabrics with like fabrics, so heavy jeans and work pants together, sweatshirts together, and lighter materials like t-shirts and pajamas together. 🤷

      As I note in the video shirts were washed on cold (we only use cold) inside out pretty much every time but my husband sucks and didn’t do it inside out at least twice I know of. Regular cycle and as noted they were line dried except the two time my husband forgot.

    It's nice to know that there is no reason for me to run out and purchase the DTV when I've got a good stock of Starcraft Printable on hand. Thanks for all the time you put into the wash.

    Did you let your Siser DTV rest overnight? I find the colors do not fade or come off as fast if I let the print sit and dry, venting the gases from the ink, overnight or 24 hrs. Also. If it is one design without smaller pieces, heat the item for 5 ,seconds and lay your design down. All the curls relax. Double check for air bubbles and run your finger gently aroung the edge before pressing. Parchment is recommended over butchers paper for matt look. I found following these techniques I get better colors, no curled edges and it does last longer. Hope that helps! I prefer the Siser as it doesn't have that "sticker" feel.

      This sat for at least a week maybe even two before the first wash. I followed all the directions for siser directly and am not as impressed with the product as I hoped to be. It’s fine if you like it. But for me starcraft held up much better colorwise

      Do you mean to let it rest overnight BEFORE it’s ironed on the shirt? Or before it’s washed?

      @cathya9986 yes. The full instructions actually say this for best results.

    Do you have any advice for when they become wrinkled? I have not used Starcraft yet, but I did use Siser DTV. I washed and dried prior to applying, and let it sit for 24hrs after applying and before washing. It was so wrinkly!

      Honestly I don't. You could try putting it in the dryer on Low but my dryer is like the surface of the sun so I can't dry anything or it lifts so I can't even test that out for you. I'm sorry!

    Maybe I missed it, but are you washing these inside out? I'm just wondering how the vinyl would get scratched if it's turned inside out. I wonder if tossing them inside a pillowcase would help?
    Not that I want to have to worry that much about washing a t-shirt for heaven sakes, lol - but for something I truly loved I wouldn't mind doing it. I currently just do a small load of all of my "vinyl stuff" - I just turn everything inside out and hope for the best.
    ***ETA- I guess I should have read the comments first, you do say that you wash these inside out. We really have to stop letting the guys do the laundry though 😂.

      They were dried only twice by accident. That is not why they cracked they just crack by nature

    So you use standard inkjet ink? I did my first transfer with Cricut printable HTV for dark colors and it barely got wet and bled everywhere. What am I doing wrong?

    • @CorinneBlackstone
      @CorinneBlackstone  Год назад

      First mistake is using cricut materials. Their stuff is awful. A lot of times printable htv needs to cure and dry for a little while before you use it. It can help to warm it under the heat press a little bit
