Meggy is such an underrated accurate character. Every friend group has the down and out older guy who is a mate no matter how much of a sadcase he seems
You're absolutely right on mate..😅 when I was younger we had a mate who was mid 20s and we were like 16-17-18ish.. he was called was Winston.."Winnie" "win" he was a good man he was, he passed away during covid from covid 🙏🏻 he was from Swansea, he was funny and just a gentle soul.
I think we all love this movie and the sequel in general because of 3 main reasons : 1. It is very damn realistic given the setting and the era it is trying to present 2. It’s based on life in the 80s and 90s when friendships and human relations were much more real than today! Particularly people from the working class 3. We all would love to have or have had a group of friends like Shaun and Co. Not all of us have been blessed by this kind of belonging to a group of friends at least permanently! That sense of togetherness through thick and thin! So when we watch it, we kinda become a member of the crew, living it in our imagination with the rest of them! I’m from the early 90s and consider myself lucky to have been from era in which I can totally relate to this movie and understand why it’s so good!
Only just finding these now. Could watch these characters all day. Especially around this era. Stephen Graham is truly amazing. The cinematography is great too.
I love the idea that Shawn and meg met each other before it. I think that would have been cool. Also alternate ending would have been good but I love the shot of Shawn staring down the camera and not knowing if milky was ok until you see the show
I love every single on of these scenes. But I also see the glaring reasons why they needed to be taken out. I don't really see that often in deleted scenes.
I rented this at Blockbuster years ago. It was released as a single film in Canada on dvd. Wasnt aware it was an episodic, ongoing series till years later. Anyways, it used this ending, with him staring into the camera. Was surprised when I watched it again as a series, and it was different. Thought I'd imagined it!
It was always a single film initially. Thats how is was released in well.....England. The following one were made for TV as a series. Interesting they changed the ending abroad though.
The original movie was based on skinhead sub-culture and it showed their inner workings . It was then again re-realeased but not as a movie but as a 4 part series . There are different versions of the series too but personally I'd suggest you watch this is emgland 86 mainly because that is the only spin off which retains the original characters from the movie . Plus its sort of a continuation as its set 3 years later from the movies end . Apart from 2 to 3 characters all the others aren't skinheads anymore but you can say they were like the early versions of chavs and it basically focuses more on mod revival scene sub culture . All in all its a really great watch and hard not to be impressed . The acting is top notch imo but you could decide for yourselves tho .
The entire ‘Long Walk Home’ sequence is beautiful.

Sid Shaun know him before he met the gang
How much older than your friends are you?
@@GoldBawls I wasn't referring to myself, I'm in my twenties

I've had the most over the top irrational crush on Smell for near two decades now...

Now that's interesting. It used the alternative ending in the foreign release? I wonder why.

The alternative ending would have been alright
I love the film, and the episodes. But someone said a rude word.
Love these scenes. Would’ve been nice in the film too but love it the way it is too x
Bye combo should of been left out! Said nobody ever
I cried watching him walk home knowing milky had been battered
3:00 gadget was such a clown back then
anyone know the song for "long walk home" portion? 7:17
It's definitely from Ludovico Einaudi, maybe it's Oltremare but i'm not sure
Divenire I believe
What’s the ending about milky walking away
3:54 what’s the age difference between Shane and smell
2 years.
4, Smell was born in 1967 and Shaun was born in 1971.
in the film Shaun is 12 & Smell has her 16th birthday so depending on Shaun’s birthday they either have a 3 or 4 year age gap

86 was the best series but i do think 88 and 90 are worth the watch too.
