The Honey thing blew my mind 🤯 but it’s in the name!! How did we miss it!! They said the quiet part OUT LOUD!!
I don't know how I ended up a Subbie here but I love it here❤❤I'm a black woman living in Sweden which means I don't get to enjoy make up the way everyone else does: 1. Our product choices are limited in Sweden period 2. The choices are even MORE limited for dark skin black women but I will watch Jen religiously and live vicariously through all my fellow American subbies❤😂😂
whoa very cool! how’d you end up in Sweden?? 😅 (just a curious fellow Black woman who somehow ended up here on Jenn’s channel despite zero previous involvement in the beauty community. LOL 😂)
@blackzimchic4738 I live in Sweden too and the makeup brand choices are limited to say the least and the brands that do exist are EXPENSIVE. I don't have the same issues finding correct shades the way I know some of my friends have, but i do have problems finding products with a correct undertone because few brands have a range of undertones, but the pricing is crazy. And if you were to look online for other, cheaper brands, the shipping fees are just as expensive, it's honestly really hard finding good, inclusive and not insanely expensive makeup/brands here
Especially since ordering from outside EU is ridiculously expensive. Also Swedish and every time I find something in the UK I curse brexit 😂 ETA: The online selection is pretty decent though. Stores usually bring in whatever brands are selling in US/UK/ASIA/AUSTRALIA in makeup and skincare
5:30 I appreciate this chart sooo much as a super pale girlie who isn’t 100% sure about her undertone. Love that they narrowed down the shades to try. The ube birthday cake shade might not be for me but I gotta get my hands on some actual ube birthday cake because that sounds amazing lol
Huda has always been particularly good at using unsponsored content for promotion but this is particularly smart - a video she knows will go viral as people try to recreate it and the good PR of reacting positively and promising the creators free product. Which encourages even more people to recreate her video in hopes of Huda reacting & sending them product.
I’m still flabbergasted that Tati’s ex partner spent all this money to sue her over and over again just to end up owning the whole company, pushing Tati out, then litterally selling it right away. This man is the definition of a narcissist. Hopefully the amount he sold Halo for isn’t even close to the amount he spent in court 😂😂😂
I was thoroughly entertained by the tutorial at the end, with your live reactions!!! Can totally relate to, "I should probably throw this away, but it works for me" .... literally my entire makeup collection
Thank you so much for the clear explanation of Huda’s ube powder! I’ve watched a couple of reviews of it here on RUclips from people that didn’t seem to understand it or didn’t seem to take the time to listen/ read her explanation. They don’t realize maybe that the product isn’t for them. So thank you for putting it so clearly that there are people who this product is for, and it is not meant to be for everyone. And thanks for sharing the joy of including and celebrating different cultures in the beauty space.
In the Reddit post Jen linked people in the comments were saying the 250 points is still available as an in-store birthday reward, and people were saying they called the store and had them redeem it in-store but over the phone so they didn't need to travel so that's a last ditch option for anyone that can't get to a physical store and doesn't want to pay for extra stuff online.
I’m a straight cis female and have dated men who wore makeup, men who wore skirts ect. Makeup or no they were masculine to me if that’s what to exuded. You don’t have to try. Just do you, and never apologize.
My first thought was the old j⭐️ lipstick pics, not sure if it’s still the advert pics they use. But why would a company want to align-even by accident- with a company / creator that has such a messy past?
I saw a creator try it and didn’t love it more than other Huda powders saying, it wasn’t as brightening ON THEM. I think it was so important that Jen mentioned Huda saying that these are for specific skin tones & not a universal product. That was actually news to me.
Jen, I really appreciate that when you show us how you apply your makeup, you also show us your trial and errors instead of just cutting them out. It's so relatable and gave me a laugh. 😃
The Sephora Birthday gift is a complete joke for me in my area (and I’m in a major city with many Sephora stores). I have a December birthday and I have only gotten a birthday gift once in the last 10 years. They’re always “sold out” by December so my only option for years has been points. 👎😠 it’s really annoying! How do they run out…. Just add something. Ulta always has my back though. 😆😁
Your Sephora sucks. When I worked there I would just offer the next year’s gift - they are always shipped by late November. But I did hate that those with December birthdays would get screwed. I’d usually throw in a bunch of samples too (if we had them).
You should make a new account just for the birthday freebie and mark your birthday to be in January 🤭 A birthday freebie is guaranteed, they don't check IDs and it's honestly close enough. It just means you either get it a little later or extremely early depending on how you see it
@@raev87 that’s awesome. You probably really brighten people’s day with that move! I live near the Mall of America in MN so not only is there that store but many around it and no one has ever offered anything but “sorry, we’re out. You can have points instead.” Just my luck I guess. 🤷♀️
Also! Got to the part where you said about your fast reflexes... I noticed that since I had my son I am so much faster with my reflexes.. Maybe that is why! You are used to your kids throwing or dropping things when they were little and you are a pro now!
Mum's are really superheroes, I think keeping a kid alive especially at the young toddler age needs fast reflexes, fast thinking and in the words of my Mum " eyes in the back of your head".
As a light olive I always struggle we with matches. The olives offered are always yellow and I have to try to add blue I feel like I need to take a class😂
I'm so disappointed the points option is gone! I always took that one from the day they started it! I guess they intended it as "Don't like our offers? Get yourself 2 deluxe samples" then quickly figured out many like me would save it up and trade for the $100 credit!
Hi Jen! Long time watcher but now getting more into lip products and very much into skin care. I do appreciate very much your takes on the whole "clean" concept, like yesterdays video. I was thinking of the swatches for certain lip products and I did find it hard to find the shade thats better for me from the new NYX Lip IV Hydrating Gloss Serum. I found them at a tiny display at target, and the shade 02 is perfect for me, but yes, online, as the models with darker skin try some of the more neutral shades, all the colors seem to be the same. Im not sure if the NYX lip IV was mentioned before but id does work! Its a gloss but when the glossy part fades/wears out, the tint left behind is super cute. Talking about the Sephora bday gifts, I always pick up mine, and it doesn't disappoint. The one that's hard to find for me, in my area at least, is the Ulta one. Last year I missed it because they were out at the 4 locations I went to even in a different state and after the month had passed I just gave up.
With the Halo beauty photo, as someone with jaw problems, that *hurts* just looking at it. They could have done something really cute with a different pose, but you can just tell that the photo was almost certainly uncomfortable to take for the model
I don’t allow myself to get excited by the Sephora birthday gifts, my birthday is in November and by the time I can get a birthday gift a bunch are sold out / unavailable so I don’t get an option a lot of the time
I HATE when brands do that jump... And the jump only happens in the darker end. Some of those lighter shades are super close, but on the darker end a bunch of people get excluded. Do it right or not at all, it's lazy and insulting.
I absolutely love the new little "fun snippets" beginning! My most favourite creator of all time, Sophdoeslife, does this sometime, and it is just such a lovely fun way to begin a video!!
Single shadows are most definitely coming back with a vengeance. I work at an ulta and more consumers are buying one or two single shadows as opposed to a full palette. It's an easier entry level for most people financially and artistic wise. With the clean beauty trend too, it makes sense for just a sparkle across the lid. I'm really hoping for a resurgence in byop or magnetic singles
@@tdsollogwhich ones? I pulled out my ND palettes and couldn’t find dupes. That being said, I certainly don’t own all of her palettes, so I could have missed them.
I like the idea of face palettes but I never like the color combos. I love a monochrome look, so I want a face palette with a cool pink blush, a cool white (maybe slightly pinky) highlight, a cool gray contour, and maybe another cool pink blush but darker.

I’m loving 🥰 Jen’s attitude and energy in this video! I love ❤️ it! I loved the different intro I didn’t love that Honey has been scamming content creators! I’ve heard you mention them for years! Bye ✌️ Bye Honey!! I don’t know if you can tell how much money they took from you but wow that blew my mind! I’m so sorry for what they have done to you and so many others! It’s so great that Huda is back as CEO and Creative Director for Huda Beauty! She is a marketing genius and since she’s been back I’m impressed with the commercials, the posts, interactions and oh my goodness Ube birthday cake is so freaking good and I’m not even a fan of coconut but the coconut flakes that are traditionally put on top ohhh so yummy! I lobe the powder chart so it’s helpful to get the correct shade that best matches your skin tone and undertone! Very smart! I’m over Clark Swanson and Halo Beauty to be honest with everyone. He fought and sued Tati in what 3 or 4 different States then Tati lets it all go and he sells the company? Talk about a greedy narcissist! I have always really loved the Sephora collection single eyeshadows and I agree “First Light” looks so beautiful! I love single eyeshadows, eyeshadow sticks, eyeshadow palettes. I’m a fan! Speaking of mascara Jen! I was watching Angie Nyqvist video today and she used the new mascara by Gourmand Girls and wow I was so impressed! It looked so beautiful on her! I love mascara and I typically don’t like a mascara right when I first use it I like for it to sit for a few days but wow it was impressive! The new Tarte lights camera action platinum mascara wand looks really nice! I really like the original! Angie also compared the old Benefit micro filling pen and the new version is way more pigmented and it looked great on her! I had the old version and it was so flimsy and lacked pigmentation badly! Also, I was catching up on Robert Welch’s videos that I’ve missed. He was saying using a setting spray before you apply your foundation or concealer if that’s what you use as foundation is a really great technique to make it last longer and give more coverage. I tried it for the first time yesterday and I absolutely noticed a difference in the way my concealer wore and how the products I used afterwards turned out! I’m a fan! Definitely interested in the new Setting Spray from Colourpop. I love your look and the Frozen Kiss palette is so pretty! The Indi brands are just killing it! Dose of Colors! I miss that brand I’m still waiting for their beautiful liquid eyeshadow to come back in stock if ever lol! I know you don’t really review makeup and haven’t but I love how you have been including your get ready process in your videos lately! Wonderful episode Jen! I’m really looking forward to part two of your video on the Ordinary ❤
Jen Phelps reviewed the new NARS lip oil and Mario lip gloss; she got the darkest shades, and they still barely showed up on her. (she has light skin.) it’s fine to come out with a sheer lip gloss, but if it’s that sheer, why even release that many different colors? the new Colourpop balms at least all have different scents.
Love face pallets! Never stopped. Makes it easy. Also, Boring is ok, if it works, it works. The boring colors usually flatter. Not everyone wants a large pallet. Looks like tarte took the most used or popular shades, put them in a bite size pallet and little more affordable. Their shades are easy to work with and always so flattering. I’m intrigued. 😊
I feel like a brand that does various eyeshadow palettes really well is Pacifica. I feel like they're kind of slept on honestly. (their brown stellar gaze mascara is AMAZING)
34:08 I absolutely love the Ciate blushes! Mine are cracking and falling apart, some faster than others. This is definitely your color way! You look stunning! From our angle, most of the lip looks you didn't prefer looked great on you!🎉❤
That lipstick mouth model photo whatever, that POSE is used all the time. There's heaps of brand advertisement with product in mouth. Like, yeah it's not appealing but it's not new
I want single shadows to come back. You ever run out of your fav color out of a whole ass pallet? 😂 I just need a few neutrals and 1 or 2 fun ones. As for the face palettes, as a bw, I only use the Beauty Bakerie one every day. I use 3 out of 4 colors. The four color is used occasionally. That's pretty good.
Talking about ciate, do we know what's up with them? Are they closing down in US? It's no longer on Sephora and their US site as I'm looking today seems to have all products sold out...
Jen Phelps did a video on the new Mario lip oils or whatever they are and there was barely any color at all. It was sad. She was really disappointed. I’m like, why have that many “shades” when there are no shades?
I kind of think you're a little biased with Halo because while that advertisement wouldn't sell me the lipstick, it also wouldn't deter me. It reminds me of an Nyx or Fenty ad which I think they've done before. The only thing I think is bad about it is that it doesn't have any indication of what the product they're selling is nor even a link I think. They just seem to be posting cryptic things on the IG to keep it alive while nothing seems to moving forward.
I love the Huda powder in Cherry Blossom. There are very few foundations that don't look orange/yellow on my pink skin. It is perfect to make me look alive instead of jaundice😅
Im only an insider at Sephora. During Covid, i was able to receive my birthday gift sent free, but since 2022, they said it had to be with a purchase. I wasnt able to get to a store so ive just missed out since. And Ulta said no from the git
jen phelps just tried the new huda powder and blush and enjoyed them both. she also tried the new MBM gloss and found it to have little to no pigment. and the same with the nars lip oils; she found even less pigment than the MBM. EDIT: the maybelline lifter stix isn’t a contour-specific product. it’s a fenty match stix sort of thing. so it’s a foundation stick and can be used as contour and bronzer too.
Enjoy your channel!! Jen I guess I am very boring but I love neutral eyeshadows!! That is really all I wear!! I don’t even know Wh i bother with a new palette but I feel crazy trying to find the perfect neutral shades!! I had never gotten Natasha Denona until recently and I don’t even need any of others!! They blend themselves but do not turn muddy and keep their true colors and no fallout at all!!! I am a complexión junkie though!! The search for the perfect foundation shade and formula!! I am olive toned so my color is a different in winter to summer even with a lot of sunscreen!! As much conflicted discussion of Patrick Ta, his foundation is so so good!! Better than luminous silk!! Great coverage but so light!! Feel like a tint but has great coverage that looks like skin!! He has a lot of good shades!!
But like how many more variations of palettes can even be possible? Honestly i almost always prefer single shadows because im buying exactly what i want and can build a palette thats perfect. Im super cool toned and theres a lot of colors that just end up being wasted because i would never use them. I also loved buying color specific palettes, like those mini huda 9 pans. I buy the jewel toned stuff and its great.
25:00 did it oxidize to green like Maybeline’s version of that? I bought Maybeline’s & tested it on the back of my hand. In a very short time the brow pen went green or olive green. 🤦🏼♀️
To get your birthday gift online you have to have a minimum purchase of 25. My birthday is in December the birthday gifts are slim pickings….usual only 1 type left (the one nobody wanted)
You can definitely use purple eye shadow to tint your setting powder purple. I’ve been doing it for years without issues. Since very few brands make a purple setting powder and that’s my preferred color since it’s super brightening on my skin tone. The pink ones always made me look weird. Almost like a doll so purple is much more subtle. I actually can’t believe it’s taken Huda this long to come out with a purple shade. I’m not going to buy it because it’s still overpriced but I’m glad it finally exists for people who like that one.
I am about to finish my second smash box contour palette lol I got the regular one first and then the Cali contour and I didn't expect to use them all but 2 pans are completely empty and I've hit pan on 2 others and I know I will finish them all except maybe the one I started using last
Great layout for the video highlighting trends in the releases. I feel like singles are coming back. We all have the basics, now we want the special shadows. Personally I’m looking for a perfect glaze powder or putty single to wear alone or to make a look pop. I’m all for more Korean inspired beauty looks.
I got the Youth to the People for my bday and momma got the Moroccan oil hair kit cause were both December babies and we love beauty products :D hee hee
20:50 that tarte palette on the right is a smaller version of something i got like nine years ago 😭 as i’ve been saying for a while now… tarte… more like farte
22:25 oh hey i have first light!! it was an impulse purchase when there was a sephora down the street from my hotel the morning of a wedding and let me tell you its GORGEOUS. love it as an inner corner highlight or just a pop on the very middle of the lid and it also works as a regular highlighter for me since i’m super pale lol

Just started watching, but the comment on Honey had me HOWLING !! XDD Much love yall! Hope everyone stays safe and healthy as best they can !! ^^
Love the Poppins of you applying the product as you're talking about them
Love face pallets! 😊
great show Jen thank you for the makeup reviews they fill my soul with so much joy :D xoxoxo best of 2025
I am loving the new intro!!!
Ok so I hear you and I get it BUT!!!! That mini 5 pan IN A Natasha Denona matte formula is EVERYTHING for me…. JS ☺️
4:35 as a Filipina who absolutely swears by Huda Beauty when it came here...I feel seen?!! thank YOU
I agree the new Natasha Denona mini palette looks like MbM BUT it being a small 5 pan makes it so nice for travel.
I was just introduced to Ube while watching the show, Is it Cake 🎂 It looks so pretty!
Ube is related to sweet potato (yams). They’re purple and delicious. I’ve eaten plenty of ube pancakes. Yum.
ohhhh the valentino packaging is stunning!! I love their OG packaging but this look elevated!
I want single eyeshadows, and I want them without the pots! Bring back magnetic pans!!!
Great video as always😊 I LOVE makeup reviews and miss them ❤
I got the new huda powder and it looks so pretty i cannot wait to try it!
it's not for my skin tone but im still gonna try it lol
Talking about ciate, do we know what's up with them? Are they closing down in US? It's no longer on Sephora and their US site as I'm looking today seems to have all products sold out...
The Lipstick ad looks 80's ad
The Tarte palettes look the same because they are the same lol
Those are also minis of already released palettes.
Oh thanks for the reminder for honey, we spoke about it my friends and i just saturday and i was supposed to uninstall it
21:44 Looks like an E.L.F. palette to me😂
Anybody else actually hold Jen's hands through the screen??? No?? Just me?? Mmm'kay. 😂
Luv this content xxxxxx
The Sephora single shadows aren’t new. I had First Light years ago. It is a great shade.
I agree with you on most eye shadow palettes. So boring. I 😘 be watching ALL of your content. Thank you so much. Love you.
8:01 this is a pretty common advertising trope. It's just not well rendered.
I love the tutorials at the end
Love the new editing format, Jen!
I love the Huda powder in Cherry Blossom. There are very few foundations that don't look orange/yellow on my pink skin. It is perfect to make me look alive instead of jaundice😅
You're so knowledgeable and I love it
I love the look! You look gorgeous 💜
That zit concealer worked great!! I want it!
17:32 oh I sure hope so! I love a good plushie lip!
Beautiful look 🤗💜👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Im only an insider at Sephora. During Covid, i was able to receive my birthday gift sent free, but since 2022, they said it had to be with a purchase. I wasnt able to get to a store so ive just missed out since. And Ulta said no from the git
Oh, and the one in target, well "we're small and just don't do that"
Liking the new intros!
jen phelps just tried the new huda powder and blush and enjoyed them both.
she also tried the new MBM gloss and found it to have little to no pigment.
and the same with the nars lip oils; she found even less pigment than the MBM.
Have to say over the last decade, it's mostly been a good ride with huda beauty (and for me kayali perfumes)
I recently bought the Valentino Born in Roma Coral Fantasy. I like it a lot. Floral and clean but not too floral or too clean
20:17 i love the face palettes from OFRA cosmetics, they only contain bronze, contour and highlight! *chefs kiss*
I mean if the halo beauty ad had put toothpaste instead of lipstick it would have been a killer Colgate×halo collab
25:00 did it oxidize to green like Maybeline’s version of that? I bought Maybeline’s & tested it on the back of my hand. In a very short time the brow pen went green or olive green. 🤦🏼♀️
Great video thank you 💜🌻✌🏻
To get your birthday gift online you have to have a minimum purchase of 25.
Jen love tried the darkest shade in the new MUBM & it barely shows up. Do with that what you will.
Have a wonderful week. Mad love ❌️⭕️
I really liked your eye look today. ❤
Halo beauty is giving Tyra on ANTM: WE WERE ROOTING FOR YOU! WE WERE ALL ROOTING FOR YOU!
