They talked about it on Saving Progress, I dont remember what they said exactly, but it was either that they were hoping it would, or that it was coming but not until later.
your best bet for progressing is probably to get the kapala. you get it when you place 2 damsels on sacrificial altars in one run, and lets you replenish health from the blood drops that come out of enemies. you can get a lot of health from it
You do know you can push the grey blocks, right? In the spot on the spider level around 8 minutes or so where you're trying to figure out how to get by the arrow trap, I'm pretty sure you could have pushed the grey block off the edge to trigger the trap.
Spelunky is from the PC. This is just an updated version for Consoles.

Love your all your vids Northernlion, and I just wanted to say. You can actually fall a good distance from a ledge hang. It is one of those things that you just have to get used to seeing. With practice you can tell what will hurt you and what wont. You just need to experiment.

The audio is still messed up NL. Look at the description. He tried to fix it but it's still messed up.
The developers of Fez and Spelunky should make a collaboration game. Think of the possibilities. I get 10% of the profit and NL gets the other 90%.
I just have this image in my head of NorthernLion getting so close to the top of this insurmountable mountain, celebrating his victory, then Derek Yu shoves him off, pins him to the ground, and Buttercups him.
northerlion you should always get the royel jelly ! getting so much health is good and here are some tips on killing the bee queen 1)get her stuck in a 1 block hole so she cant get to you but you can whip her 2) make her go under you and throw a bomb so it hits her 3) when u have the spikey shoes u can jump on her easyly 4)any kind of wepon works like crysknife boomerang the lazer gun and the black knights shield or right u dont have them cuz u dont do the secret levels

Always carry a rock or key in this case for the mines as it is a much better weapon than the whip. The rock is good for offense and helps trigger arrow traps. Is good for offwnse until a better weapon comes along.
Sacrificing two damsels to the alter is ALWAYS worth it.
try putting two dogs on altars in the course of one run. You'll get an item that lets you regain HP when you collect enough blood (which comes out of every enemy when you kill them / whip them)
Your offers to Kali add up for a whole run. The more you sacrifice the more/better items you get

i love these videos thanks northernlion for uploading them they have insane humor (i hate to say it but in my opinion more than isaac videos) and i respect that everyone else loves isaac and i do too but i just like this more (my opinion)

Worth it? Probably not.
I feel like this has been said at least twice an episode, each time I both laugh and wonder why it doesn't occur to you not to do that again. Then I remember how short your memory lasts and laugh again.
Does the voice recording seem a little off to anybody else? It seems like a quarter of a second late. Not the whole audio, just the mic.
Did anyone tell what the deal with the keys were yet?
There's a locked chest on the same Mines level as the key. You unlock it with the key.
The key has no other use, other than as a thrown item, IIRC.

Super meat boy with the jet pack, I could've not ask for a better start for this [...] I got the climbing gloves as well, so I can climb on everything we possibly come across.....BOOM! - This is cruel but that was the BEST part of this let's play so far. haha

NL, the backswing extends behind and slightly above your character, a fact which can be exploited and is also the reason that you died at 3:55. Look at kayinnaski's and eguee's Spelunky Techniques videos, they have a lot of hard to figure out stuff like that in them.
Be aware that the tip about dropping onto spikes from a low height is out of date and no longer works. The rest is solid.

Then if you throw rocks at their corpses they release even more, allowing for almost infinite health (I've only done this on the pc version).
This game has the feeling of classic super mario bros, zelda, castlevania, and pitfall all in one.
NL maybe you dont check your videos after uploading them - but this one (probably the first one) is a little bit asynchronous
Which of all the deaths do you mean?
Sacrifice two damsels and get the the best item in the whole game. A skull that collects ALL blood that you get from killing stuff and after killing about 3-4 things it will be full and you will get an heart (this works unlimited untill you die)
damsels on the altar do pay off. after 2, the Kapala is really nice (get health from blood drops), and 3 damsels = 99 bombs!
It still seems out of sync, like when he almost falls on the spikes, 5 seconds later he finally says "OHHHH"

I grew up to mombo #5 but it was NEVER in an Arby's commercial....... or was it
8:40. Instead of throwing a bomb, I would have pushed the gray block to activate the dart trap. I would have also used a rope instead, since at that point, I wouldn't really be needing them anymore.
I'm starting to feel like getting the key is more of a co-op suited thing.
Actually you can't unlock anything when playing co-op.
It is, however, possible, albeit difficult to take the key to the end of the ice caves in single player, and it involves use of a hired hand to carry your key for you.

I was having one of the most amazing runs ever yesterday, with almost every shop upgrade and a shotgun, like 8 health and TONS of bombs, and even unlocked a new character on the 3rd level of the Ice Caves. But when I got to 3-4, the new character instantly threw a rock (or something, it happened too fast to tell) and I flew off the cliff into the abyss. :'(
I like to think of this delay as if he has a really bad reaction time.
Sorry, this has to wait until tomorrow.

oh and after the 99 bombs prize, you get 4 - 8 health per damsel
you probably have to wear jump boots when you wear a jet pack, but jump boots are bad ass, so you would not want to wear them

I work at Canada's Wonderland Northernlion and they play mambo number 5 all the time, it made me laugh when you talked about it. Also because you live in Canada.

I wonder why people put so much pressure on NL to perform better (if still). I tried Spelunky and have come to appreciate his level of playing. Yes there are frustrating moments for sure when I'm watching, but overall defeat is part of fun in this LP, as with all the other games that NL plays.
Still works on the XBLA version.
I chose jetpack over woman. There's millions of women in the world. I've never seen a functional jetpack.

hey NL ik its a stupid question and many people may have asked it before but do you still play dota2 ? i loved the videos and ik that thee r other games out but if you are still into it mybe we will see some fotage in the future.....if you dont want to do it its still ok.... :P
It is on PC, but not like this, the PC version is more of retro-ish game. This XBLA version contains added things and new graphics.
