Wasn't Jenny always moving between cities, though? Nurse Joy and the Shopkeepers are always in a building with something to offer. Shopkeepers offer deadly weaponry, destructive explosives, and life-saving ropes. Nurse Joy('s) offer a healing service, computers to cram your Pokemon into, and a place to trade your Pokemon. I personally see more a resemblance between Nurse Joy and the Shopkeeper.
Hey NL, I don't know if anyone has told you this before, but if you exit the level that you found the pickaxe on, it will then have unlimited use. It can't break. Hope this helps :) Also great videos, keep em coming. Thumbs up so NL can see.
Alright Ryan, it's time you learned another way to deal with arrow traps. Notice when you crawl over an edge you flip over and hang from it? If you do that on an arrow trap it will fire without hitting you. No more backtracking to get something to throw at any trap you can stand on.
NL, i recently look up how to go to hell and beat the other boss and i realized that it is going to take at least 50 more episodes for you to be good enough to do that considering your progress right now.
Expendables 3: Shopkeeper Shotgun. Wow, that one shopkeeper helped you out against Grandfather Frog. Then the Black Market...it was total warfare. Shame this version was not on PC.
Northernlion buy a lot of items from the shop early on. Buying the climbing gloves will allow you to get a lot more gold and will pay for its self. Spike shoes allow you to kill large enemies and get their gems. Think about that northernlion.
I'm a PS3 & PC Gamer and yes I used to play Minecraft but I also play Mirrors Edge (PC), Left 4 Dead (PC), The Binding Of Isaac (PC), Portal & Portal 2 (PC). So Don't suspect that all we are are Minecraft players.

NL, relax, you are still rushing like a madman. You need to take to time to think. Also, never forget that you are going to die MOST of the time, it's just how Spelunky works. If you let it get to you then the game is going to get old really fast. None of us want that to happen because we love watching you play.
Generally, I approach shops by buying legally until reaching the black market, then robbing them blind there. That way you can position yourself well at the beginning to take them out before angering them, and if you rob the whole market, you have SO much good stuff. XD
I have to ask, and maybe I've missed it in a previous video, but have you experimented with using the ghost to make gems on the levels into diamonds? It's a really easy way to rack up money.
People forget, I always instantly make my videos fullscreen and after it's finished I move on to the next vid so I forget to like some videos, seriously man, not everyone can remember.
Northernlion, you always seem overcautious about piranhas. In some situations it's almost necessary to bomb out the pool they're in, but you can also jump into the water and whip/shoot them as they swim at you.

I think you are on the verge of a breakthrough sooner or later (I'm assuming later since you will be going to PAX soon :P) You may not be the best Let's Player in terms of skill, but you definitely rank as one of the best when it comes to commentary. After doing my own crappy Let's Plays I really don't know how you manage to make every video interesting even though we've seen you die to shopkeepers 30+ times now lol
i think you mean the remastered version as the pc one is the full version just with bad graphics and to ansew the question most likely not for a long time if at all
I totally agree. I do play the game, and it can be frustrating, but something good to do, is every couple runs, or when you start to rage, just play one where you do something fun and not be so serious. Like for instance, he could mess with shopkeepers or try new item combos like the Web Gun + Spring Shoes. Just my two cents.
NL gonna be posting this whenever I remember to until you admit you know this/have tried this in a video. But have you ever tried holding up while pushing attack? Or use, or whatever you want to call it. I know for a fact that on the PC version if you hold up while pushing that button (or the bomb button) you throw up in an angle. Also you can hold up and use..while over a chest or crate..to open it without attacking or throwing what you are holding.
That first run had so much potential and then NL made every bad decision possible; he forgot about the mattock, wasted a bomb, didnt get monty and then tried to take on like 6 frickin bees with one health!? You're trolling yourself NL.

I don't really give a shit how the videos go as long as he's having fun with it. As for the rage, it's pretty typical, this game can be frustrating.

NL, you should try going for the "Public enemy" achievement. I think its where you have to take down fourteen shopkeepers in one playthrough.
