Sort of... NBC was a shareholder in Seven... just like how CBS invested into Ten and how ABC invested into the 9 Network... But how about Fox? Well, they gave Ten the license to make a promo that's similar to the 1990 It's on Fox Campaign, plus, they got to carry some of it's shows. However, they backed out in 1993, so Rupert Murdoch can launch the FoxTel cable/satellite TV service in 1995.

Why these promos would make anyone watch these television station’s is beyond me. But then again my father was all ways channel 7 Melbourne because of football and wide world of sport with Ron Casey back in the 60s and early 70s on a Sunday.

As catchy as the tune is, I agree. Very jarring to go from “Hello Melbourne” to… this.

Didn't Seven aired the Only the Best promo in 3 minutes, just like NBC's 1988 version of "Come Home to The Best" did?

I don't think NBC gave them the 3 minute instrumentals.

the same happened to the 1985 version of "Let's All Be There" when Seven launched it in '86
at least Brazil did get the longer version of the song lol
