Oh the early, arcade era MKs had the biggest quarter munching, input reading BS AI. Only way to beat the game was by cheesing it.
Still remember in UMK3 and Trilogy on the Saturn I could make it all the way to Shao Kahn but against him I had to switch to Striker because of his crouch (without blocking) would go under most of his attacks.
What did I tell ya? The cpu is playing a different game and had priority over everything. Nonetheless, thanks for listening to my request. See you in MK2. Btw if you think this is bad. MK3 cpu can literally kill you in the middle of the fight using fatality like noob saibot.
Kinda that all of the Mortal Kombat games at max settings for me were all easy to out play and pretty much walk all over 😊
@@nathanalexandre9043 The latter games gets toned down. But the older ones are somehow manageable only if you're using exploits. But having an ai that can interrupt combos with uppercuts and can throw you while ducking is definitely another level of cheating. Good luck trying to play the older ai the regular way.

Fun Fact: Sonya Blade is broken in this game. Why? LEG GRAB! She can infinitely throw you with that move and it does mad damage. You can win just with that

Oh, the SMES port, the Sega kid in me cringes but well done. This is my first game for the Genesis. I leanred the Blood Code and my first fatalities here.

once you know how to exploit the AI on your favor, you can beat the game with one credit on the highest difficulty
Samurai shodown is cheated like this specially the fight with jubei that fighter with two swords stunt me everytime

No wonder why MK serirs is falling. Ed Boon is totally fine with it current way. I wish we could see Tobias vision of MK. He was pushing more deep gameplay for MK while Boon only generating more ideas without knowing how it will work in real game

Use the teleport. It's no reason losing to sub zero that crazy and only ur second opponent. U can totally cheese with only special moves playin with Raiden on mk1.
Dude the snes version has input delay man, trust me I was trying to do the teleport. I even say in the video no matter how many times I try it doesn’t come out.

Why aren't u using throws? No one's stopping u.
You can’t throw the computer in mk1-4. They just end up inexplicably throwing you.
@@christianrapper5 i had 1 n u could throw. It was to be used with extrem caution but it's not impossible. I can't speak to the nintendo factor. As i said i only had the mastersystem version which had only 2 arenas n also no kano at all.
Still i guess the game would still less different from the genesis 16 bit than the snes 16 bit.
I really was hindert mostly by the d pad n 2 buttons. I had to push forward + punch for throws n back + kick for low kicks.
But u also didn't sweep or uppercut sub zero when he cornered u. He jab jails u indeed but u slipped out into a crouch from where his kept on jabbing should b the perfect opening to b punished.
However, part2 indeed is infamous n u will miss how easy going 1 was,lol.
I've seen how actually unfair the arcade mk2 cpu's were. U really got cheated out of ur quarters by those with worse shit than the insta reactions on inputs, like weirdly inactive hitboxes n magic hurtboxes no matter if their sprite is there too.

Arcade version of MK 1 is on Fightcade, it looks a lot nicer than this one.

The snes version is known for its input delay.
The Genesis version doesn't have that issue but it's ugly AF

Just going to catch up with comments here, That was funny! The input reading was crazy! Also only 4 continues? Is that supposed to keep people from playing the game too long or something? Luckily save states always win. This honestly makes me wonder how mk2 ai Is lol. Anyways cant wait for mk2!
So they start you off with 4 continues because you were supposed to put money in the machines to keep playing. But on the console versions you couldn’t so you only had 4 tries.

MK2 is harder all because of that input reaction they used where the enemy immediately counters your input. Maybe they even used it on MK1 because sometimes it sure as shit feels like that in mirror matches, but not to the extent of MK2. They dialed that shit up to 11.
And yet it was easy for me to counter input thier counter 😊

why do you call it an arcade playthrough? i recognized the SNEs graphics immediately.
Soo when I put “arcade playthrough” I’m not exactly referring to the port, but the actual story of the game. Since most modern games refer to the story mode of fighting games as the “arcade”.

Had the mastersystem version with only 3buttons on the controller, even there the inputs certainly ain't keep u from doing sweeps, throws, block projectiles... at least b4 goro, u can do it without cheesing if u use the tools u have instead of ignoribg half of the few things u can do.

Bro, I already knew that.. Regardless of that tho, you’re crazy if you think sindel was stronger than Shao Khan in MK9 lol. Plus, Shao is a 7’2 400 pound demigod, Kitana has fan blades… Mk11’s story was just bad man, it’s okay to admit.
