Sam at the beginning saying "in my cancer" is relatable to me. I just had double mastectomy and often tease people around me who bumped into me or something, OH my cancer. You need weird humor to survive the crap of cancer.
Isn't it often said that the 2 ingredients to humour are pain and time? I believe it is theorised that 1 reason we developed humour is to act as a social coping mechanism to move past the pain of an experience, once we are ready to do so. We all know that Sam is an absolute master of comedy, so I think this shows that he is moving through his trauma, rather than getting stuck and bogged down in it, as can also easily happen.
I had a BKA 3 weeks ago. I was in the hospital for about 5 days then went to a rehab center for a week and a half. I was able to crack jokes on day one only because I had a few months to prepare for what was happening.
Humor and comedy are usually better medicine than many of the procedures and medicines we put into our bodies. Dealing with the stress of surgery, cancers and chronic illnesses takes a sharp mind and keen sense of humor to combat at times. Keep up the good fight, you are never alone.
Travis knew right off once Matt started talking, but he sat back to watch as everyone else came to the realization it was Grog. Perfect way for him to allow the others to come into the storyline on their own and not force it...much like Sam did with Marisha during Vilya's reveal. Such great timing and sense of story telling.
I’m so proud of Laudna. After three and a half decades of having to deal with Delilah’s abuse, she finally put her foot down and kicked her fucking ass like we’ve all been waiting for. And now Delilah’s trapped in a rock throwing an Azula tantrum, Laudna and Imogen have reconciled, Pate is back, and Imodna won’t have to miss their little cottage anymore. Our girl has come a long way, but she has triumphed.🖤🖤🖤
The fact Delilah in The Legend of Vox Machina is voiced by the actress who also voiced Azula makes the "Azula tantrum" part of your comment an absolute *chef's kiss* moment. I don't care if this was intentional or coincidental.
It was absolutely intentional. And if Bells Hells gets an animated series, I personally hope Grey DeLisle comes back and channels that energy when it gets to this part of the story.
@@Abyrae I have never been a fan of The Last Airbender, but I love how CR and crew combine various themes of movie-land lore to build a cast and create these connections within their storylines. I enjoy looking at these connections as much as watching their stories.
@@Chaddingway Absolutely. He has his hands on the wheel of his life, his recovery, and his journey. How he's handled all of this has been nothing short of inspirational.
So I've been out of the loop for a while but "you've entrapped your patron" brings me SO much joy to hear because I've been pitching that as an idea since episode 34/35... whenever they brought Laudna back to life.
"In my Cancer!" Reminded me of; "Right there, Sir! Right in the kisser!" And Hamilton's; "Everyone has their eyes on you". Like VM is handing down that moment, they had when they were finally taken seriously and now making sure BH is taken seriously. (I always saw M9 as more The Losers/6 Underground.)
My friend is a cancer survivor and he does the same thing Sam does at the beginning. It's important to be able to move past it and your friends support you in that. Everyone easily could have been like "awww " but instead they laughed too. Can not dwell on things like that.
seeing my bit kick-in was crazyyy lololol
thanks for the plug, TP!
It was the first thing I thought of whilst editing this, Thanks for all your hard work ♥
Well, when the Mighty Nein cartoon airs, if they adapt that part of their story, the head of security has got to be a very hot Minotaur.
Sam going "that's a nice steady hand" while talking about Taliesin was DIABOLICAL.

@@culthosmythos ya comedy is just tragedy plus time

Laura realizing Sam was linking his backstory to Campaign 2 Nott and Jester shenanigans is so damn funny
The look of pure joy on Travis’s face is adorable!!
Bro, between Braius' backstory callback and Grog and Pike. So much nostalgia feels I love how travis reacts to Grog.

I want someone to be excited to see me like Travis was with his big baby boy barbarian
"IN MY CANCER" OMG, I got chills
Imagine using the Titanstone Knuckles to perform crowd control, LOL
*crunch* “Oops…”
Oops sorry -Grand Puba Dadoink of flowers and dis and that

"I draw my weapon."
"EEEAEUGH!"
Best part
6:40 Marisha’s face when she realizes who Matt is talking about and Travis with the biggest happy shit eating grin looking at her.
Loving the Bard Bromance going on with Darian and Braius.
Look only Sam can joke about his cancer and it hits every time LOL. There's power in just laughing about your tragedy.
Being able to laugh at your hardships means you've seized full control of them. It's a great state to be in.

"All of Exandria looks to you" has such "History has its eyes on you" Hamilton vibes, I LOVE IT
so many good one liners in this one!
It's an overused cliche, but Sam is a national treasure
D&Dbay is the best joke they ever made.
it's ep 103 btw
Where do I buy tickets for the Imodna Gun Show?
nono our humour is worse lol
