I think that was very in character for Grog. Matt plays their characters pretty well. Another example is Matt's Pike with the very long "I-i-iiii..." when she started her sentence, which is a thing Ashley does a lot.
It's one of those, "Tell me you know your friends extremely well, without telling me you know them extremely well" *proceeds to play as your friends' previous d&d characters perfectly*
I absolutely adore the subtle joke Matt made about the Croissant shape and only Marisha laughed at first. The only person to understand his humor right away was his wife, its adorable
Oh God Braius said 12 because of Sam's bit about how Braius has 3 fingers on each hand so he counts in things divisible by 6. Or I'm overthinking this. Either way, glorious.
the way matt-as-pike does ashley mannerisms SO WELL brings such joy to my heart. the way he says "...you went to. the. moon?" with the facial expression and the shoulder and the pitch-up was literally perfect, i adore how obvious it is that he adores them and their characters with these cameos+call-backs
It's so beautiful when Brius mentions arm wrestle in front of Grog, Travis visibly gets excited almost like he is in character at the same time Matt delivers perfectly that excitement in game. See 7:21 for that perfect moment.
Kinda sad when you realize that the next time they’re seeing Pike it’s when FCG is dead 🥺 I believe last time they met Pike was when they were reviving Laudna
I’d say maybe a little of both? Sam is currently recovering being treated for a form of throat cancer, and he said he essentially had to relearn how to speak.
