    I just realised how hilarious this must've been from the perspective of the characters. Chet takes the blade, casts grim psychometry, vomits, gives the blade back, goes back to sleep and refuses to elaborate.

    the real question is, did delilah just straight up lie when she said it was sentient? that'd be the first outright lie she'd been caught in then.

      It could be sentient but just not willing to speak. Which is interesting in itself. A blade that is witness to the actions of its wielder but unable to voice its thoughts.

    There is a thing about this that is a little off. If you looked at the record of any sword, it would be a blood soaked path. That is the nature of swords. Sure, some of the uses were clearly evil but not all of them. Since the sword isn't actually cursed, it's the weirder that makes the difference.

    • @redfinale
      @redfinale 3 месяца назад +25

      Cursed or not, evil intentions or not, it's still that bloody path that makes the sword a terrifying item. Fiction always has that one weapon that, on its own is practically harmless, but because it was used how it was, it suddenly becomes this mythical item that supposedly bares a half dozen curses and has the power to slay gods and demons with but a word, when in reality, it's just a basic bitch broadsword you looted off a kobold at level 3 and just never stopped using it because it "looked cool".

    • @Blasted2Oblivion
      @Blasted2Oblivion 3 месяца назад +5

      @@redfinale That is a fair point. It's more about the weapon's prestige than the weapon itself.

      @@redfinale I love that the developers of Genshin Impact took that "trope" and turned it on its head. Instead of applying that to weapon used by evil, they applied to a weapon used by good. It was a moment of, "It's not the sword that makes me that good. I am just that good."
