    I recently had the J&J Odyssey Toric lenses inserted into both eyes. It's been a life-altering decision!! I’m a 49-year-old male and have been pushing off cataract surgery for years. Everything Dr. Wong is saying is 100% accurate. I'm nine weeks in since the first lens was inserted. My reading vision is getting better by the day. Anything closer than 6 inches starts to get fuzzy. My Dr. said I was 20/20 at
    my last appointment! Distance and clarity are exceptional. I see the halos around LED lighting, but I think I always did, so I don't feel discomfort.

    I had pre-op last week and I'm on the schedule next week for cataract surgery with these odyssey lens implants with dr. wong. (too nearsighted for the clear view 3) I've been wearing glasses/contacts for 60 years and I'm so looking forward to life after cataracts.

    Fantastic information, a very helpful video, it’s a shame you’re located so far away….here in the UK 🇬🇧 I’m about to proceed with surgery using the NEW J&J Tecnis PureSee EDOF lens because I don’t really want halos at night and hoping I’m not going to be too disappointed with the reading quality 🤓🤩😃

    I think the best way to choose the right lens is to use multifocal / monofocal contact lens and see if we tolerate what we see then decide to get yhem inside the eye 👁️ thanks dr wong for all the information 🙏❤

    I have been using your videos to get an understanding of the different options for IOL and the surgical process involved. I would like to see content focused on EDOF options. I have never had binocular vision having been born with severe strabismus that was corrected at 16. My prescriptions have always reflected my monocular vision and when I got LASIK we continued mono vision. I am about to start the cataract process and discussions of best IOL options. Based on what I have learned and what has worked for me in the past multifocal seems to be an overkill for a 73 old (old dog new trick) and that EDOF might be the best option. BTW highly motivated to reduce dependence on glasses. Thanks and keep the information coming.

      He does have some videos on that. Any video discussing Vivity, Symfony Optiblue, or the Light adjustable lens (LAL) are all regarding EDOFs. Caution with Symfony as it is a multifocal, but is classified as an EDOF because of its reduced range. It will have more halos/glare than Vivity or LAL, but less than Odyssey or Panoptix.

    Hi, dr. Wong. Nice comparison en clear overview sheats. Would be nice to get a little more insight in the reasons for explant/dissatisfaction per lens type. The percentages between the types for these 2 points are not that different, but are the reasons also rather alike. Or to they differ significantly per lenstype?
    Could you give us some more clarification on this?

    Congratulations once again for the excellence of your clarifications and topics covered in your videos. Could you make a video about the results of the clearview 3, because this lens seems to be so revolutionary, no problems with halos. What would be the vision results for near, medium and far range?

    Dr. Wong, what do you know about the Johnson and Johnson PureSee IOL? Also, when do you think it will come to America? I am getting lens replacement in my left eye with a Clearview 3 in 2 months and then a month later Odyssey lens in my right eye. Just curious if PureSee would be a better choice for right eye. Also wanted to add astigmatism in left eye is 0.67 and my right eye is 1.23. My left eye is my dominant eye. Opthamolgist does not suggest LRI to fix the right eye astigmatism so that eye can get the Clearview 3. Thoughts on all of this? Thank you for your time.

    Dear Sir, thank you for your wonderfull explanation. I am from the Netherlands so appologies for my poor English language. Thank you!

    I had one cataract done in May 2024- right eye- toric lens, resulting in negative disphotopsia. It was very bad at first for the has diminished somewhat, although not completely gone. I will be having my left eye down next year and I’m reluctant to have the same type of lens implanted. What would you suggest? I have even considered going to a different surgeon since this was not explained to me prior to my first cataract surgery, I feel that I was not, fully informed. Thank you for any information you can give me.

    Why do you use the term “medical optometrists?” There aren’t, to my knowledge, “medical” optometry schools. An optometrist is an optometrist. They are not medical doctors, as in: MDs.

    • @tonycharron73
      @tonycharron73 6 дней назад

      The difference between an Opthamologist and an Optometrist is the level of education. Opthamologists perform surgeries and provide medical care. Ophthalmologists have at least 12 years of training, including a medical degree (MD) and a three-year residency in ophthalmology.
