  • Hello my beautiful people! A few weeks ago in my knitting plans for 2022 I mentioned that I wanted to learn how to make socks. And I already learned it! Omg, I'm so obsessed with socks now and have already finished two pairs. So in today's video I wanted to simply chat with you while knitting up a cute pair of socks. Don't forget to leave some q & a questions for next week and as always let me know what project you are working on. Much love, Lisa

    I also recently picked up sock knitting last year and am also obssessed! I love them because they are so easy to take around with me on the go especially since once you get the hang of them they are pretty dang simple to make without a specific pattern. I have a goal to knit a pair a month in 2022!

    • @lisasknitclub

    I can totally understand the obsession. I started knitting socks a few months ago before I stopped because I got bored, but I picked it up again a few months ago and I already have like five pairs done. Four of them have cables.

    On Ravelry, you automatically follow someone if you add them to your friends list. Then you can customize if you want to just see your friends' projects in your feed, or also the stuff they're adding to their queues or favorites list. For the Q+A, what is your absolute favorite yarn (all-purpose, sweater, sock, or however you want to answer)?

    Hi there. Oh my gosh the exact same thing happened to me. This year was my goal to learn to knit socks. I finished myself a pair, now I'm making hubby a pair. I too am so hooked on sock making. It is addicting. All my other projects are suffering from neglect. Just can't put down the knitted socks. So I can totally relate.

    I really relate to the college/university stuff. I’m in my last semester of college after having to take two extra semesters because summer of 2020 was awful for me and I failed half my classes. I’ve really appreciated the lighter workload, I think it makes me a better student and designer being able to put more time and thought into my projects instead of always worrying about how much I have on my plate. I’m interning for a really cool nonprofit that I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to work for if I had graduated “on time” and it’s given me more of an idea of what direction I want to take my life in. Silver linings I guess. Still very excited to finally finish my degree in a few months 😊

    I also had to take an extra year for my BA due to Covid slam tackling my mental health 💛Thank you for talking about your own experience -- It makes me feel so much less alone. I'm also excited because taking an extra year means I get to go abroad again! I was supposed to go to London and Edinburg, but Covid meant that trip got cancelled. Now I'm planning on going back to Germany for a second time!
    Would you ever consider bringing your experience with journalism to your channel? Maybe something like iGirl's Trashion series but for textile arts? Especially if you get to go abroad, it would be so interesting to hear about people's projects and stories behind why they knit/crochet 💛

    • @lisasknitclub
      @lisasknitclub  2 года назад

      Yes I think many students have experienced this, it's really difficult to perform in the same way in university when there is Covid haha. But so cool that you are going abroad, have fun!
      I would love to make a combination between journalism and fiber arts, it's definitely something I have been thinking about! And of course I can't wait to take my knitting and crochet journey abroad, would be so cool. Thank you for the inspiration 🥰

    For learning the continental purl, try the Norwegian purl. It is way easier in my opinion than the normal continental purl. Arne and Carlos has a good tutorial on it

    have you considered trying the magic loop method? you use circular needles with a really long cable and i find it so much easier to knit socks with that method than with the small circulars because you don't have to switch to dpn's. magic loop is a perfect method to avoid dpns at all cost (which is what i do hahah) 🥰

    • @lisasknitclub
      @lisasknitclub  2 года назад

    I am not sure if this is mentioned in the comments, but you all should try knitting a pair of socks at the same time on the round needles! It's actually really easy and fast, since you knit just two sides with two needles back and forth. I learned it and lemme tell yall, I'm never going back to knitting with four needles anymore! 😇
