American covers of The Breath of Fire series are kind of charming in their own way, i like that american comic-book style.

Totally. In fact, looking online for the PNG I found an actual framed SIGNED picture someone put on their wall. Pretty awesome.
Love The cover art from Elemental Gimmick Gear - (DC) SEGA Dreamcast it's looks like waiting to sit and play and that is it all about you just jump in the gear and play, i can't find even in next gen games some robot gear to sit and just play as a robot like Samus or something.
I heard a lot about EGG. I dont have a Dreamcast, but definetly want to play that one. Both covers of that game look great in my opinion, real cool, thanks for that mention!

18:25 well there are physical versions for MegaMan 9 (not for 10) but they are some kind of hyper collectible intentionally bad designed promo packages.
You should find them online though for two legs and a kidney and upwards...

I like Pixel Arthur, but would like it to signify a special aspect in the video, like highlighting a special segment, or something like this. Currently it becomes a bit repetitive in such a long video. But it's cute.

Logo looks good, reminds me of a remaster of a pixel game logo. If you do a scroll affect on it as it moves from the bottom to the top that’ll seal the deal for me. The character sprite looks solid too. Can’t wait to get more gaming recommendations form you in the future!
I like how the psp version of Breath of Fire 3 learned something, unlike the rest of them.😂 And I would rather have had the Japanese or European version of The Guardian Legend.
Some of this is better poster art, but I wouldn't necessarily say is better boxart. There's a lot that can go into sales with target audiences and cultural norms. Comic book/SatAM cartoon looks are definitely better marketing for parents in the 90s. In more recent years, slapping an anime styling arbitrarily might be better for sales than traditional Western comic book style art.

I like the sprite guy, but I feel he could do with more expressions or maybe more hand movements. Cool video, would like to see a follow up but the other way around.

The german Cover for the second Paper Mario is way better than it's American Counterpart.

I always had a gripe with "The Thousand Year Door" because look at the thing in question. That isn't a door!

Damn, mega man has the most hideous cover arts of all time. Insane. For the last game I actually like the european version the best. There are so many more games to talk about. Sonic the Hedgehog wmhas pretty interesting comparisons with Japan and Europe having really nice covers. Also check out the insane japanese covers for the shinobi games.

Loved that you covered video game box art which I swear is a very underappreciated aspect of games since they can make or break a game especially before we had the internet. Didn't know Guardian Legend had that good of a box art in JP, reminds of SHODAN from System Shock if she didn't want to destroy insects lol.
Can I throw out how terrible Doom (2016)'s box art is... Anything with a guy with a gun and nothing else screams we paid $0.50 to someone who hates art to make it, and of course tops being the most generic box art ever since it could be any FPS/action game or worst yet any CoD game...
New logo looks good just can't decide if its better or not and always love seeing pixel renditions of content creators lol.
Agreed, Doom 2016's cover sucks. I flipped to the alternate cover which looks much better, but thats also not ideal cause the spine doesnt have the PS4 logo, so it looks weird, lol. Glad you enjoyed the new stuff dstreet, thanks for letting me know!
I gotta disagree with DOOM (2016)'s boxart being terrible. The main 2016 art is maybe a bit generic. Unless you know who DOOM guy is then it works perfectly and is kinda obviously the whole point of the art. DOOM is back, checkout the update. Not saying the alternate art isn't better, it is, I just think the original boxart is fine. There's plenty that's worse out there. Most CoD boxart is also fine tbh. It's all same-y, but so are the games. You actually can't just slap the title of any game over DOOM guy, nor could you slap the DOOM title on top of a CoD boxart. DOOM guy is actually iconic. PN03, Vanquish, Metroid, Timesplitters all are pretty much guy with a gun and nothing else, but that kinda explains the game in the most basic sense. They're all also reasonably attention grabbing. There's definitely an element of good boxart helping sales over good shelf-piece/poster art.

There is a PAL A and a PAL B version and PAL B is much nicer and closer to the actual ingame characters.
Its still not perfect but worth mentioning.
