Hey Rey I just stumbled across your channel. I graduated high school about a year and I’ve been working construction and man I’m tired of breaking my back and am considering starting a Rad program. Man when I dream of my future I wanna do what you do man. Thanks for making this content really helpful I can’t say enough. Thank you
Respect to you man! I was actually gonna do plumbing before i finally got accepted in the program so i can relate in a way. It’s never too late. Make sure you’re career is something you have a passion for.
I started as a limited tech now doing the rad tech program, but when i 1st started i was scared of messing up, then you get better, ended up having my own student and that student ended up doing great. Years later i was able to get a job because she put in a good word in for me. Now im trying to get her to do the rad tech program with me
Nice channel! I have an X-ray and CT license and used to teach radiology part time at two community colleges in Los Angeles. Radiology is a great field to get into. I’m thinking of getting my masters in healthcare administration. The sky is the limit.
Hey man, im currently in my 2nd semester of a PTA program but im heavily considering switching to radiography. The reason i want to switch is because the PTA job market id dying, and I heard that there are so much opportunities in radiography, and plus I can still do something fulfilling and helping out others!
I would recommend shadowing first to see if it's something you'll enjoy. But if it is, welcome to the family! There are several different avenues in radiology. Best of luck to you
I did great in clinical...but class work I struggled. I had my clinical experience in Owensboro all over the city and surrounding cities. My favorite place to work would've been an outpatient clinic and I enjoyed every moment of my experience there. I moved to Lexington where I work at a large hospital for night shift and the transition was eh but now I love it with 9 months of experience!
Hello! I am currently 21 and I will be applying for the radiology program in december at different hospitals! I am planning to become a radiology doctor, just wanting to know how I would get there ? By the way, I love your videos! You keep it so real, LOVE IT!

Hi! I’m an X-ray tech however I continued my education after the program it’s been two years since I have done clinicals I have an interview coming up for an X-ray position I was wondering if you could give some ideas on typical X-ray tech job interview question do they ask positioning and technique questions? Thanks love your videos!
Tbh i had 3 interviews out of the program and none asked any. They’re more so character and situational questions. Just like any other job but pertains to radiology.
It’s an exciting time for you lol Just don’t think too much. You have all the tools and knowledge IF you did your very best in the program. I got a 91. We used correct tech, practice exams on ASRT, and that yellow Lange prep q&a.

Didn't immediately get into the program last time I applied and did another program to get more money and quicker because the other program was shorter. But I'm going to reapply to the program this upcoming season. Deadline is Dec. I want this more than ever now. 😎
This is super helpful! I have a few random questions lol. What shifts do you work? Full time, park time? Did you have to start with shitty shifts when you got your job?
I usually work during day. 0800-1630 M-F. But sometimes I may be asked to work a graveyard 0000-0830 or something during the evening 1200-2030. Or maybe do a 12 if we are short staffed for whatever reason. And i work FT. And yes lol that’s typically what happens with being a new hire/grad.
Highly considering this field. I am part math nerd and not ready for retirement. Have considered teaching but, why review what I already know when I can learn something new?
Hey man this video has been super thorough and helpful for me. My biggest concern is getting hired with visible tattoos. You’re from California like me and I see you have tattoos so that’s a good sign lol. Have you heard of anyone having trouble with their tattoos while trying to get hired as an x-ray tech? Maybe bigger hospitals like Kaiser won’t allow them and smaller clinics do allow them? Thanks for the great content, subbed!🙏🏻
Someth8ng else to take in to consideration is the state. Depending on the state will depend on the needs, California in particular is a really good state for pay, where as Texas is great at hiring lots of people.
Will be finishing my last prerequisite class this fall 2021. There’s a program I’d like to join but it requires at least 8 hours of shadowing before I can apply. I’m currently having trouble finding a place to shadow at, I also reside in northern cali

Thanks keep up the good work I did subscribe to your channel I’m just wondering all the landmarks that are on your cue card. Are they also in your videos? Thanks again keep up the good work. Good luck to you be safe.
Hey man, great channel! How could I, as a foreigner, with a radiographer / rad tech education (3 year / bachelor / scandinavia) move to California and get work there as a rad tech? How common is it for foreign radiographers to get hired in the US? Any way to achieve this? Possibly even greencard after some time... Cheers mate, keep up the vids!
I appreciate you! Man.. i wish i could give you an answer but i have absolutely no knowledge of that. Although, I have worked with several techs who have moved from out of country. I’m sure there is information out there on the web. If you still are stumped I can ask my managers or one of the techs i work with next time I see him.

Hey I’m a high school junior and I was wondering if I should get an associates in a related major to cover all my prereqs, and then shadow a rad tech, then apply for a rad tech program in community college after 2-3 years? This is my first research regarding this career and thank God for youtuve and all the information we can obtain here and for people like you as well that like to share their success and are not selfish like most when they reach success. I am not sure if this career is only pursued by college or if there's maybe programs or can even be a way by hospitals programs etc... please hope you read my message/comment and maybe enlightened me a bit to what could possibly be my options. Thank you in advance and blessings👍👍 and wish you the best of luck in your future!
ty for your time and the feedback! So what I did was go to my allied health councilor at school and talk to them about the credits I needed in order to pursue radiology. I also made sure this is what I wanted to do by going to my local hospital and asking to shadow the radiology department.
@@XRAYREY appreciate the advice 🙏👍👍 I will definitely look into that. Since I been researching on my options regarding MRI technologist I am not sure how Tru is it that some hospitals offer programs where thousands can become certified tech ,with class room work and ton of hands on practice. How sure is that? Do you know if that's accurate? Or is there programs I could take for this career? Without having to go through college? My next step is going to my community College and speaking with an advisor or counselor but I am hesitant because I am not sure if they will only push me towards the college way and leave out any other roads that can lead me to this career. 🤔 my main point is I want to do this the fastest way possible without having to take all this extra time in college in clases or things that I won't need for this Career. I have a family already and me going back to school as it is is really going to set me back regarding money as I am the only source of income ATM so for that reason I am looking at my options for the fastest and efficient way. Well i believe it has to do with you transitioning from a student to a tech. Give it some time, but at the same time make sure you’re progressing. You must believe in your time you put in as a student and know that you earned that RT(R) title by your name and you belong there.
X-ray Rey ... Thank you so much, I will definitely do that. It’s been two weeks since I made this comment and I believe I’ve made some significant progress.
Unfortunately I’m not allowed to say where i went on here and I do not have any information on that school. I would just recommend that they are JRCERT accredited
Yo if you decide to go to their program let me know how it goes I was accepted into their pre-radiation program but i ended up in another school that i got in the program straight away.
It’s an exciting time for you lol Just don’t think too much. You have all the tools and knowledge IF you did your very best in the program. I got a 91. We used correct tech, practice exams on ASRT, and that yellow Lange prep q&a. When you’re studying make sure you know ‘how to get the answer’. Don’t just study the questions and answers word for word. The wording in the questions were very different from what i studied. Luckily i understood concepts and definitions in detail. So when the questions were worded different, i just had to think from a different angle. I hope that makes sense.

Ayyeeee!! Congrats brotha! Super stoked for you. Welcome to the family Nick RT(R) 🎉
Congrats! Mine is next month :)
I just graduated X-ray school and start my new job tomorrow. The anxiety hadn’t kicked in until now haha! I’m so nervoussss
It’s natural to be nervous when started anything new. But embrace it and I hope all is well!
Update? Lol
Thank you for making a video about rad tech ❤️ I’m so close to getting into the program!!! I’ve officially taken all my prerequisites. I just need to pass the TEAs test I took it once already and unfortunately didn’t pass but I’m taking it again in a couple of months and I have faith I will pass!!
Ashley Cardona You should definitely get the Pocket Prep app for TEAS!!
You are very welcome! I’m confident you will pass this time. You know what to expect now. Good luck!!!
The work books were a must. I used two types. YOU GOT THIS!!!
Thanks Rey! This was really inspirational for me as I'm newly graduated and looking to start my career.
Danielle! Good luck with everything. You got this!
I am in my 2nd semester 1st year student. I love your videos. You have helped me a great deal at just staying positive and learning positioning better. Thank you!
X-ray Rey I figured out the Air Force has a Rad tech program how sick is that? Free education
I started as a limited tech now doing the rad tech program, but when i 1st started i was scared of messing up, then you get better, ended up having my own student and that student ended up doing great. Years later i was able to get a job because she put in a good word in for me. Now im trying to get her to do the rad tech program with me
Im a limited tech who will get into the full tech program soon. Great to see you tubers about this type of stuff
Awesome! Good luck with everything !
@@XRAYREY thanks bro
Nice channel! I have an X-ray and CT license and used to teach radiology part time at two community colleges in Los Angeles. Radiology is a great field to get into. I’m thinking of getting my masters in healthcare administration. The sky is the limit.
Thanks for sharing!
Great video! I graduated last month and passed my registry the other day. Can't wait to start looking for jobs
Congrats brotha! Welcome to the fam. Wishing you the best in making your decision.
I love your videos! You are an amazing motivational speaker! I start school in January. I’m so excited! 🤓
I appreciate that! Just doing my part to help the future generations. Good luck with everything! Super excited for you as well!
Thank you!! 😊
Best of luck to you
@@XRAYREY thank you brother!
You were the first video I saw when I was just learning about what X-Ray techs do. I took all your tips and I got in 🥳 I start this fall!!!
Just started the program. Wish you would do more. Love the info you impart and the quality of the videos
Finishing up several videos! They'll be uploaded next month
Loving these videos! I just got out the service and starting at square one. But these videos have helped me make my decision.
I appreciate you for your service ✊🏽 Good luck with everything !
You are awesome!!! I needed this am hopefully applying for the program next year :3
Still doing my prerequisite for the Radiology program at my college, but your videos made me more sure of my decision in becoming an RT. Thank you!
yes ma'am! Glad I can help. Lets goooo
Great video as always !👍🏽
Thank you so much!
You keep it so real, LOVE IT!
im going into my first year clinicals and im just so glad to hear what your saying in this video. thank you brother, also im proud that you are pinoy and are representing the right way lol.
@@XRAYREY Oh okay thanks I appreciate it!
My program starts next week🤘🏻thank the lord I found this channel first
I love your content and hearing your story! I take my ARRT boards next and I am so anxious.... How did your boards go? How did you study!?
It’s an exciting time for you lol Just don’t think too much. You have all the tools and knowledge IF you did your very best in the program. I got a 91. We used correct tech, practice exams on ASRT, and that yellow Lange prep q&a.
Hey Rey... Keep these videos coming! Great production value on your vids - would love to chat with you about some collaboration sometime.
Did a brief browse of your channel. Would love to! Very valuable information there. Just been really busy lately at the hospital. I’ll need to find time. Shoot me and email xrayreyc@gmail.com
@@XRAYREY Will do!
another great video!! thanks again for the helpful information.
Still love the intro
Haha appreciate it!
Thank god he is giving us the behind the scene experience, everything he is saying is true regarding improving yourself if u want to be the best u gota be the best thanks for the info Im finishing prerecs
You are very welcome! Good luck with everything!
If you don’t mind, I’ll be sharing your RUclips channel with Facebook groups. TSRT and NTRTS! Thank you and keep it up! Keep promoting 🤗
You should add me to your group! I could really use the daily motivation aha
So you’re the one lol Well I definitely appreciate you! It’s just difficult lately to reply back to everyone. It’s gotten really busy lately at work 😩
Thanks for the motivation! I'm about to start clinic!!!
Didn't immediately get into the program last time I applied and did another program to get more money and quicker because the other program was shorter. But I'm going to reapply to the program this upcoming season. Deadline is Dec. I want this more than ever now. 😎
Make it happen!
What’s up Rey! Love watching your videos man. I’m here in sac as well and wanted to know which school you went to for you program. Much appreciated!
Someth8ng else to take in to consideration is the state. Depending on the state will depend on the needs, California in particular is a really good state for pay, where as Texas is great at hiring lots of people.
Great info! I'd like to get into MR or PET, but you have to go through X-ray for a 2 year associates degree.
Will be finishing my last prerequisite class this fall 2021. There’s a program I’d like to join but it requires at least 8 hours of shadowing before I can apply. I’m currently having trouble finding a place to shadow at, I also reside in northern cali
yea... I could see how it's tough given the worlds situation. Just have to keep searching! I'm sure there has to be some out there
How much class room training, and how much clinicals did you do during your two year journey on getting certified? What should I expect?
i’m a surgical tech for about 16 years working at two facilities over here in the East Bay just got into X-ray school fall 2023 ultimate goal is to go to the IR. Any suggestions?
Give us more x ray positions! Thanks for everything Rey :D
Hey Rey my goal is to be an MRI tech one day but was told to start somewhere with Xray or something. Should I start with Xray tech or Rad tech?
whats up friend, love your work. very informative. Could you show and explain fluoro exams such as Esophagram, Upper GI, BE? It can be stressful at times, especially if you don't see it everyday. Thanks for your help my guy
Noted!
Hi, I'm from Libya
I work for general hospital and they pay me 200$ a month,
And I work for private clinic and they pay me 100$ a month,
So the total is 300$ a month, that's why I want to leave my country.
Sounds like you have a reason, determination, and a passion. Keep you mind on the goal. You got this! Wishing you the best.
Nice videos bro I just graduated the program and waiting for boards appointment.
Congrats! Good luck on the exam. Try not to think too much. You got it!
I just scheduled my exam. Its about to get real! hit me up on IG 'radassma' we can study together :)
Loving the videos my guy. An I peak that kings sign in the back. Sac town needs to invest in that team man but them trading buddy was a no go for me.
Do you have a plan to be in the academe? Your content is informative and it focuses in X-ray/Radiologic Technology.
I'm JM from the Philippines.
Registered Radiologic Technologists,
Now working as Assistant Professor
I appreciate it! I’m not too sure what you mean by academe?
Thank you! It is a really helpful vedio. I m in my first semester of x ray school. still don’t have confidence on what I m doing and also I would really appreciate if you can make vedio on how to develop good relationship with patient. Thanks
That's a great recommendation. Def. will! In the mean time, if you'd like some immediate advice email me!
@@XRAYREY thanks i will
im a more of a handson person so during online school is very nerve wreacking. im a freshman
Hello, I am looking into x-ray technologist programs online and was wondering if there was a good online program that partners with a local hospital etc. so that I can still do clinical. I currently work a ft unfulfilling job and found your video inspiring. Thank you.
Facts Homie there are no good techs looking for a job haha Socal right now we can"t find anyone that needs a job we have like 3 per diem positons open at the hospital
wow... thanks for the info.
I'm too late but welcome to the team my Rey
Hey I’m a high school junior and I was wondering if I should get an associates in a related major to cover all my prereqs, and then shadow a rad tech, then apply for a rad tech program in community college after 2-3 years? I have a good interest in this field but I don’t know if I ever NEED to attend university, or if it’s good because of the educational background (in radiology). I live in Southern California
I’m changing careers rn now and going back to school to get a Bach in Rad Tech. How much do you make in the NorCal or the Bay? I’m looking into getting into Kaiser
How did you know rad tech was for you. i know you said it was calling but How
How long would it take you or is it possible to make your associates to a bachelors degree is it an extra year or two? And love your helpful videos! Keep it real bro! Respect ✊
2!
Great vid bro !!!
TY!
Is medical radiography the same thing? Currently in 1st year of the program in Canada... I’m finding it very hard, so much school work, not to mention 9 classes are online and 3 in person with full PPE.. do you have any tips??
... Hi Rey, first year tech here. If a doctor requests for a single digit xray, is it necessary to do the whole hand.?
Is Radiography Tech the same? Thats the course I'm enrolled in but I can't find much with that title.
About to enroll myself in BS RT wish me luck in my college life👌.
Wishing you all the luck! You got this
Did you go the Merced College? I saw it in one of you other videos and I am considering doing the program.
I didn't say that, you did. Made an agreement with my alumni not to say.
New Subbie here! Hi X-ray Rey I’m a rad tech in progress!
Welcome aboard! GL w everything
What’s the difference between a radiation therapist and a radiologic technologist
therapist deals with chemo and all that, rad techs take images of bones
Do you have any advice for petite small women in this field? will there be a lot of lifting the patients? please comment! :)
Really enjoyed the vid, I am looking fwd to a career in this very direction and would love to beacome a registered MIR technologist and put my grain of sand and help people, and do what I love most.. I would like to ask for some advice/thoughts on which are the first steps to take regarding this career and the diff ways I can go about it.
What would you recommend?
@@XRAYREY really appreciate you taking the time off your busy schedule and writing back. I really appreciate it. This times where we most need help and hope we had a friend to go to specially a friend that's working in the same thing you want to accomplish. It's gold. Thank you. May God bless you n your fam and continue to give you favor. 👍👍
Is it a good idea to go to community college for this?
That’s what I’m currently doing
Hi! If you don't mind me asking, how much do you make per hour? And what city do you work on?
Great videos man!! What is your IG?! Have a couple questions
Email me xrayreyc@gmai.com
Did you work while you was in school
My wife is looking to start school for rad tech and we also live in NorCal Vacaville to be exact. We were looking to find an associates program that is two years. Is there a campus that you recommend?
Delta college in Stockton, Merced College, Kaiser (campus in Richmond), are places my coworkers have graduated from
X-ray Rey awesome thank you!
... This the kind of video I needed, I just started working and I think I might have imposter syndrome. I’m not confident with my work, always second guessing. How do I get over this, is it like a phase coz I’m really always anxious. The video did help a lot though, thank you.
What school did you go to? Also would you recommend the program at CSU Northridge?
Unfortunately I’m not allowed to say where i went on here and I do not have any information on that school. I would just recommend that they are JRCERT accredited
Yo if you decide to go to their program let me know how it goes I was accepted into their pre-radiation program but i ended up in another school that i got in the program straight away.
How old were you when you kicked off the program? i'm deciding in between Rad Tech vs RN
26-27
@@XRAYREY 27 here. Thanks buddy
How did you prepare for your registry and how was it? I take mines in June and I’m nervous
@@XRAYREY This is the post I was looking for!!! Thank you.
If you want a study partner... send me a message on IG 'radassma'
Can you use radiologic technology degree for radiology therapist
I love your YHWH tattoo I’m a radiation therapist myself so this is a cool similar career😇
Do you need an associates to work in the hospital field?
I start clinicals Monday. I am so so nervous
you got this!
