Fujifilm X-T50 | MUCH better than the X100VI?

- Is this new X-T50 a better camera than the Fujifilm X100VI and the X-T5? I kind of fell in love with this camera for its looks but mainly for what's inside and all the new features.

I got my X-T50 today, and I totally agree with you on the EVF! And so far, I’m really enjoying this camera, along with the new 16-50 kit lens. So glad I preordered it!
Awesome! 😃
The reason to not add a 2nd slot or the bigger battery is that part of the unique selling proposition of the X-T50 is that IT IS SMALLEr. I am baffled how many miss this point. I would agree lack of weather sealing is a missed opportunity simply becuase FUji has small weather sealed primes but not a body as small as this.
Ya thought of that of course, but technology wise - they could work it out no?
@@cris_photography No, not necessarily. Heat, space, price. You have to compromise at some point. The camera being bigger is no good. We shot for ages with a single slot and the product positioning isn’t top pro in the line.
The charcoal of this is very beautiful
I agree!
Thanks for this insight. I have an x100v and am debating if I want to trade it in and put down incremental money for the XT50. It looks like the build quality is not quite on par with the x100v but the technology is better.
Hey there! Honestly the built is not that bad and VERY similar to an X100 camera (it’s basically plastic). The only thing is the lens swapping ability that to me makes it a game changer vs the X100V but it all depends on what every one needs
Take care!
Other than the price, which everyone is rightfully upset about, should I give up waiting for my X100VI preorder and just get the X-T50?
Imo the price is more than ok, for an uptodate camera with all the latest tech and the capability to change lenses. I’d go with this and get a 27mm pancake to keep it small almost like an X100VI. Cheers!
Wait for the x100vi and sell it for $$$ then buy the xt50
I would rather pay a little extra to get their bigger brother, the X-T5.
X-T50 & X100VI both are way too overpriced. You could even save some dollars by getting a used X-T5.
IMO, X-T5 is the better choice.
If you are only into the vintage/film camera-like design, just get a Nikon ZFC instead.
Before you buy the X100VI take a look at Samuel Streetlife’s review of it!
It would be interesting to see a size comparison between the x-t50 and an x-100vi. But I appreciate the latter is hard to get hold of.
It would indeed! Lemme get with Fuji real quick… see what I can do 😁😁
Meantime am reviewing the new and old zoom lens on a T5… video coming soon
@@cris_photography I’ll look forward to it.
Would you recommend the Fujifilm - X-T30 || with XF18-55mm Lens Kit or
Fujifilm X-T50 with
XC15-45mmF3.5-5.6
OIS PZ Lens Kit? the X-T30 is priced at $1299 and the X-T50 is priced at $1499
Honestly I’d take the XT50 personally for future-proofness 🤷🏻😉
I shoot professional events with xt30ii ..bring two batteries.. haven't had a failed SD card yet ...as well its small and stays out of the way...I like this XT50 weather dealing please 🥺
Yep, I agree with battery longevity (IF you know how to use it that is) and WR is definitely something I’d love to have/see in this series
Cheers
I wish you can shoot raw and can change the film simulation in the gallery by turning the dial. And save as a jpg.
You can change the film simulation in Lightroom in post when you shoot RAW 😊
@@cris_photography yes I know, but it will be so useful to do it directly in the camera. That’s why Fuji has this function right? 🤷♂️
Eh? I can do that on my XT2.
Of course when shooting RAW you can save as many jpegs as you like, using whichever film simulation you want, using the in-camera RAW converter. It would be nice to use the film simulation dial to do that though. Preview the image, turn the dial to select the film simulation, hit save.
Release the XE5 with weather seal. period.
Not gonna happen but would be great
Got to make sure you have x100vi in the title haha!
It’s the closest camera to compare it to - especially with it’s fame. Also, I personally have a beef with the lack of interchangeability of the lenses so yep 😁
Lack of weather sealing is a shame!
Right????
Arm it with a 27mm pancake and why would anyone buy an X100vi?
Yep… my very thoughts…
weather sealing, more dials and 27 mm is not 23. Arent the files smaller on the 100vi? optical view finder as well.
weather sealing, optical viewfinder, built in ND filter, to name a few.
Vidéo prévue en français ? Merci

@@cris_photography Hey man, thanks for interested! Done, I just sent an email to you!
All they had to do was stick all the modern bells and whistles in an xt20 and they would have had the greatest hobbyist camera of all time. Amazing how Fuji have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. The price was a kick in the balls but whatever, I would've sucked it up. But having to stare at that ridiculous dumdum dial every time I picked it up would have been too much. The most glaring omission is the d-pad which seems to have left with a whimper and very little protest. I wonder why they keep it on all their pro-level cameras? Maybe because it's an absolutely crucial part of a well designed, fully functional camera...
X-T30 doesn't have a d-pad either
I hear ya! Thanks for the feedback
@@jlee104 yup and I didn't buy that either. If you weren't interested in video the xt30 was arguably a step backwards.
I think Fuji are concerned that the xt** line is too powerful and would hinder xt* sales if they don't cripple it in the most ridiculous ways. Releasing the xt50 at basically the same price as the xt5 also implies this.

Do you have access to X-T50 pre-order figures? For all we know it could be the most pre-ordered Fuji after the X100VI.
@JackBurton-qp4hc bam - well said 😂😂 (I have access personally and it’s insane)
Get the xt5 for a couple of hundred dollars more.
The only drawback for some is the size and that’s a difference that can’t be overlooked. But otherwise yes, XT5 is the way to go
@tedormsby
Size and weight is the issue. X-T5 is no good for me.
Fujifilm is good if blurred shots and inaccurate shots are your thing.
You might want to learn to use it?
@@cris_photographybooooom 🎉 hahahaha
For tracking is so bad, for for single point auto focus the only way using this camera😅
@nandysullivan3005 did you see my dogs shots? He didn’t pose for me - he was literally waking and out of 47 shots not a single blurry one (in tracking mode)
Cameras don’t take blurry photos. Photographers do.
