That is probably the most complex underground freeway system in the world. Incredibly impressive! I hear the tolls are expensive though, so may explain why the tunnel system was quite for 8pm in the evening. People sticking to the surface streets to avoid the charges.
Definitely. Nobody wants to pay over $10 for a one way trip when they don't have to! But yeah, from a road/construction geek's perspective, it's amazing what today's engineering can achieve!
