- A short review of the Sentinel Bogu set and update on the Myrmidon set from Kendo Star.
This is meant to also be a comparison of Made to order and stock bogu for Kendo practice and the possibility of using these sets for shiai, shinsa, and any other kendo events.

4:05 that's actually my observation with the Vanguard bogu. On my Original Vanguard men, I felt the uchiwa was thinner and softer than the uchiwa on my other men. Even though the material makes it easier to clean, the Kendostar uchiwa doesn't hug around my face the way other men do.
that's cool, i'd like to buy another kendostar set, my original bogu as begineer was vanguard, which, it has been awesome, now this new set sounds perfcet esp considering this is good shiai and also regular practice, perfect. Thanks 😀
Thank you I’m glad it helped!
Very happy Myrmidon user here. That kiji do dai looks just fantastic, men! Do you know the exact weight of that do? I haven’t had any issues with my kote yet, but I ordered them just a bit wider, as to accomodate easier an under-kote protector (I do have to be extra careful with my hands and wrists, because of my profession).
It is a great bogu.
You gave me an idea to wear a bogu in a formal occasion 😂
Would love to see that, but don’t blame me if it flops 😂😂😂
1:09 My Myrmidon kote has the exact same problem at the exact same spot, and also on the right kote. Unlike your situation, my Myrmidon kote is slightly looser on my hand than my other kote. And I don't practice as intensely as you, not even close. For me the problem started after about 4 months of use, 1 to 2 keiko a week. I haven't done anything to fix it, because it is not getting worse quickly. How did you end up fixing yours? Sending back to Kendostar?
I’m in Japan so it was a cheap a quick repair you could unstitch the lip and re-attach the palm where it ripped but it will be temporary though. Most likely it will come off at that spot again.
Sorry, tried to watch it, but it is really confusing with the extra, on top voice. I will try to redo the whole video, it is a short video anyway. Thanks for all your nice videos.
I appreciate your feedback. I will try rewatching it with fresh eyes, maybe I went over it so many times that I took some information for granted and put too many things on the screen. I will work on this for my next video!
@@Kendotips we have practiced together in Lima, I know you are a great Kenshin, just this video is not showing who you are.
Thank you for giving us great content. You are a great person.
Another question: do you feel the Myrmidon is still more protective than then Sentinel against hard hits?
Sorry for the late reply: Yes it is. Is not as comfortable but for sure takes hits much better.
