_Thank you always for your ongoing support. I hope you enjoyed this video. Moon_
So glad to find this. I've seen a lot of clips of the movie and have watched my DVD several times because it seems each time I see something I missed before. Now I have purchased the book. Patricia Highsmith wrote this book during a time when 'homosexuality' was a criminal and deviant affliction. It would have been extremely difficult for two gays to meet each other and almost impossible to live together openly. How many gays were prevented from being with the one they loved because of the narrow mindedness of society? No one should be deprived of loving and being loved. Perhaps this wonderfully done movie, Carol, will give people who think being 'gay' is unacceptable will finally understand that two people who love each other should have the opportunity and right to be together.
Who reads this book? she's perfect.
I guess her name is Laurel Lefkow.
I dislike her voice because there could be more emotion... And I think her voice is very robot-like to me. This is my honest opinion so please don't hate on me because of my true opinion. Some people say I could be a writer, as I do love writing stories and writing in general, so perhaps I could but only time can tell.
@@emilybrooks8808 the voice is very important, not to fast is also important to me maybe because I am French my listening in English is far from perfect.
By the way I liked what you wrote, you seem to have a delicate personality.
Fighting/bon courage for your writing ⚘
Love the little fishes/ peaches analogy- so true. I could never keep more than one on a spoon!
Thank youuuuuuuu Is my Favorite Book :') is a Dream the movie and Cate Blanchett as Carol
What an amazing reading, what a brilliant interpretation. Combined with the crushing narrative -- somehow I'm just fascinated with the petty glamour and oppression of retail stores. How the hardship is always disguised, how the classes clash over the counter. The everyday life is so much more interesting than most fantasy out there. Thank you, amazing stuff.

A million thankyous for uploading this audiobook.
This is a great american novel, and a typically great Highsmith novel and I'm so glad it's finally getting the recognition it deserves.
Carol is a 2015 romantic period drama film directed by Todd Haynes. The screenplay by Phyllis Nagy is based on the 1952 romance novel The Price of Salt by Patricia Highsmith (republished as Carol in 1990).

Oh wow thank you 🙏after being in ore of the film Carol to be able to listen to this phenomenal writer
Thank you for not saying "Terees"! I tried to listen to the audiobook and couldn't stand how the girl said that. I'll be listening to this soon =)
Me too, I couldn't stand it. Every time she says "Terees" , I hear Therese's voice in my head saying “Please don’t ever call me _Thereese_ ”. Thats why I prefer this version.
Enjoy :)
Moon
Haha, I could imagine that. Thanks for it. x
Wonderful! Thank you...
I finished reading the book yesterday and now I don't know what else to read... I feel like anything I start reading will not be as satisfying as The Price Of Salt because I watched the movie before. I will accept any suggestions!

It would be Carol, in a thousand cities, a thousand houses, in foreign lands where they would go together, in heaven and in hell...Carol saw her, seemed to stare at her incredulously a moment while Therese watched the slow smile growing, before her arm lifted suddenly, her hand waved a quick, eager greeting that Therese had never seen before. Therese walked toward her.
Thank you, from Brazil.
: )

4 Extra Debut. New York, 1948. A theatre designer, Therese Belivet, meets a woman who turns her life upside down. Stars Miranda Richardson.
Thank you! This is an exquisite novel. The film is fine - and Rooney Mara is exceptional - but I do not feel it captured the delicate inner life of the characters.
I remember there was a full video of this audiobook here on youtube. I couldn't find it. I think it got deleted. I should have downloaded it.
The falling in love so well expressed within 50’s Manhattan

Thanks for uploading!! Do you have the audio uploaded somewhere? I want to put them in my phone, so I don't have to use any data...Thanks!
download it using the RUclips to Mp3 site.
This scene with the lady from the store is so weird to me. I don’t understand it or the point of it. Anyone has some insight or possible symbolism I’m missing? Why is Therese having like a panic attack. Is she thinking this lady might be her future life if she doesn’t change something?
I think she does see that as a warning/option. In the 1950s if you didn't have a husband or children it was seen as odd or suspicious.
Even if there is no mention of Mrs. Robichek being a lesbian people still would talk if a lady wasn't married with kids.
good to learn English. thanks. kisses.
This was definitely made in the 50s
I am pi 1952 I think
Radio 4 played the radio adaptation in 2014 if anyone can upload it 😊

second time for me,,;))
" her reddish - brown eyes ... " ? ?
Is this the one from audible.com?
No, Hachette Audio.
Is it just my Lesbian mind, or does Terese have a feelings for Mrs Robacheck ?
Just as she described her teacher/ nun when she was a child?
