Top tips, from a hairdresser 🥰
    1. Dampen the hair and you will find it easier as the hair will be less fly-away and will "stick" to the rollers better.
    2. Always lift the hair in the opposite direction from where the roller is going to sit. As you were doing at the front and over-directing to the front, you need to lift up at the sides and back. This adds maximum volume and allows the hair to sit on itself and not getting in the way of the roller beneath it.
    3. Measure your sections by the size of the roller. You don't want the hair overlapping the edges of the roller.
Top job for a first-timer, looked good.

You might need to either wet your hair or add some product to help develop the curls. Love the vid!

Yeah you can dampen your hair before however damp bleached hair is very fragile so I think dry would be the best option for hair like mine

I heat up the hair in the roller with my dryer on high heat until really hot, then I hit that with cold until it's _completely_ cool.

When my hair was longer I used to wash it dry it and use Velcro rollers and leave them in a couple of hours they gave lots of volume I think your hair looks really nice and I’m now wishing I hadn’t thrown mine away. I didn’t think they would work on shoulder length hair

I used velcro curlers on my hair a few years ago, I personally couldn't get on with them and I had some hair rip out on the side, it said to use a spray water bottle to dampen the hair slightly. Mine never came with those clips yours came with, I did try long Bobby pins, but they weren't having any of it 😆

I grew up using rollers. The average person didn't have curling irons yet. we rolled our hair and slept in it overnight or sat under the dryer hood. Always rolled up wet hair. Sometimes we used a product called Dippety Doo, which was a setting gel, prior to rolling. I still have my grandma's plastic roller set but they are small since she had short hair. hahahaa I knew that would happen in front. You needed to roll that one the other direction. you have a lot of volume though.

I meant rolled the front one forward instead of back

Long live Dippety Doo! It was basic, but worked like magic :) Ditto to sleeping in brush rollers overnight!

I haven’t thought about Dippity Doo for years😂. I loved it!

My grandma used Dippity Doo every Sunday after she washed her hair; I still remember the smell. One of my aunts would set her hair in a combo of pink plastic rollers with pink plastic clips that went over the rollers, and mesh-y type rollers with plastic “sticks” that came with the rollers (also called “curlers”). Grandma slept in the curlers.

Yup Dippity Doo and Aqua Net…..mom always had that and her plastic pink curlers.

Velcro rollers are great and work best to “hold a curl” roller set like - obviously you can use them just like you did without having the heat but they were great as sort of a stepping stone is that the right word so while the curl after the curling iron is released set that with the Velcro roller for just a short time while you’re doing your make up by the time you take them out that curl will be set from the heat which will have cooled.

it's actually really pretty, it looks so effortless when you messed with it abit😍 you should of put a roller on each side of your fringe instead of one in the middle

Your hair looked better to the side.
When you are taking them out, hold on to the hair near the scalp and slowly rolled them out.
Also a slight touch of hair spray will help keep the volume.

If your hair is damp it will stick better. The clips are for sectioning your hair as the velcro should stay in place, especially if you have a hair net of scarf wrapped around like grandma.

My hair is exactly like yours I am trying to find a product other than hairspray to spray on to help with the hold also I have to keep the rollers in for at least two hours I have a portable hooded hairdryer which is quite a gentle heat which helps set the rollers but it the rollers gave your hair volume your makeup is nice makes you look completely different x

if you're going to use heat you might aswell just curl your hair with a curling wand lol, rollers are a substitute to using heat

    • @sophiehannah_
      @sophiehannah_  2 года назад +1
