I've been using roller sets for nearly 20 years. They're seriously a godsend, as I really just have to plug in my rollers as soon as I wake up, put them in my hair right before I leave for work, and take them out in my car before I go into the office. They're seriously so quick and easy.
Another use for roller sets: The large ones can be used to straighten curly hair with no heat while maintaining the bounce/volume curly hair naturally has! Love this (and you!)! I have thin fine hair, and tho I'm in the granny category, I'm no frump. Hot rollers are my hair savers par excellence and have been since they came out in I think '68! I use the velvet Conairs 1 1/4" and Paul Mitchell root lift. Works beautifully and I get a smooth, body-full style with no extensive time--30 min max. Section almost completely dry hair, mist roots with root lift, roll, do your make up, get dressed, remove rollers and spritz with a flexible hold hairspray. Boom! Out the door! Keep up with your fun and funny vids, and your great practical tips. ❤️
For those of you who don't really want to hear Brad talk about his product for 6 minutes and then do a basic rough blow dry (I dunno why you wouldn't, but whatever) Curlers start at 6:31.
You aware 400$ hairdryer and regular hairdryer does the same thing right? Expensive dryers have more power and weight less, they make a pros life better cause they need to do 10+ blowouts a day, not because they give better result.

I decided to go back and watch your older videos because my mom has been a huge fan of your work and videos for years now. Your channel is so nice; I love your tutorials and I'm also very passionate about rollers/ rollersets. I was a dummy and let my parents convince me to go to university where I spent five years getting a damn English degree when I wanted to do hair. After I eventually graduated I got sick and then the pandemic hit and since I have an autoimmune disorder I'm mostly stuck at home waiting for my health to improve so I can go to cosmetology school. In the meantime I sell custom dyed/styled wigs so your videos have helped me learn a lot. Thank you for your amazing content. You're a true entrepreneur and an artist and very much an inspiration to me and many others. 💖-Dahlia
Thank you for making things more simple for me to understand. I have tried rollers before and failed, but now I know what to do. Also, I watched another video of yours on how to curl hair with a straight iron. Now I know exactly what to do(other videos made things too complicated). Also, you seem kind, genuine and fun. I am subscribing.
Stettafire you can set your screens so they have like a slightly yellowish tone to them, standard screens emit a lot of blue light which is super harsh on the eyes so it’s good for you to have it on that setting particularly before bed! :)
@@Stettafire there's an app I use called Twilight with gives the screen a red tint, you can turn it on and off, and it helps with sleeping because blue light keeps you awake. I understand it as something like this (please take what I'm saying here with a grain of salt, it's just how I explain it, I'm not a scientist, nor have I researched this) : The sky is blue during the day and your mind thinks it's day, and if you have blue light coming out of your phone it tricks your mind into it being day. Also blue light is just harsher or stronger.
Men are more likely to be color blind( runs in my family). My dad was shopping for a lunch box for work and me and my siblings had to convince him the one he liked was in fact purple and not blue
It was until I was an adult that I realized my grandma knew her stuff, using rollers and pin curls before bed adds much needed volume to my hair as well as curls for my shorter hair to frame my face! My hair doesn't get as oily as fast and once you sleep with rollers regularly your hair begins to just naturally begins to adopt and get accustomed to the curls and volume! You can brush your curls out and not worry about losing your curls like with heated curling rods. It's much more worth it to be patient and just learn how to sleep with the rollers and pins and get a silk or satin bonnet 😊
@@renosenpai it depends on the rollers, I definitely don't do the hard plastic ones and now that I've cut my hair I do pin curls instead which is more comfortable since it doesn't pull at the scalp as much and more comfortable while sleeping since the curls lie flat while in the pins, so you might have better luck with pins instead of rollers! Rag tie curls also are very comfy (also cheap to do since you just need strips of fabric)
Oh yeah fr!! I've learned so much already from random lil comments he makes about curly hair, imagine if he made a whole informational video? Hell yeah
I've been using hot rollers for years. I always wrap a towel around my head so the curls will stay heated longer. Besides I do my makeup while my hair curls. After I take out the rollers I flip my head over and just use my hands to comb through it. Spay a little hair spray on it. Then when I flip my head back up I style it with my fingers and do another little spray of hair spray and I'm good to go. I don't like fussing with it to much because I have very long hair and I do the shampoo and let air dry daily. Besides the products weigh my hair down. It's 2020 now when I first seen this and as soon as I can start going out again I'm going to bleach my hair again and get me some glitterati. 😊👍
Avoid products that have glycerin in them! Glycerin and other humectants attract moisture from the air, which causes your hair to be over-hydrated and creates more frizz :)
Honestly my hair doesn’t hold aaaany kind of hairstyle! Like I get that beautiful volume but 5 minutes later everything is flat again. It’s so annoying
Vaness Apparaît Try leaving the rollers in for as long as possible. Like 2 hours or something. It might help? Also try blasting it with cold air whilst it’s setting?
I have corse waist length hair & have been using hot rollers since the 7th grade. Plug the rollers in & let them get HOT, I plug in before I take a shower so they are heating while I shower & blow dry my hair. Use the all plastic ones not the ones with felt around the middle. Try to leave one roller on the set when your done & leave the rollers in your hair until the one you left is completely cool & so are the metal rods that hold the rollers, I usually do my makeup while the rollers are sitting. Don’t brush out your hair! Let the gravity pull it down naturally. This is my advice if your hair doesn’t hold the curl well.
Oh God same. I can curl my hair for 45 minutes, enjoy the full, fluffy, bounciness for 5 minutes and then.... BLAH. Flat as a pancake. I have to use a ton of hair spray now.
I haven't used rollers since high school and I picked up a set of medium-expensive large rollers (Babyliss) after watching this tutorial and it's my go-to styling technique now. I wash my hair after dinner and let it air dry/sleep. Take my shower in the morning, put in some product, put in my rollers, do my makeup, and by the time my curlers are cool, I'm good to go. So much volume for my fine hair!!! Add a little dry shampoo and some spray after brushing it out and I'm good for a few days.

Guess what Mom gave me just a couple of weeks ago? Literally the same brand, same rollers and everything! One of the few things that mom and I agree on, though, is that those metal clippies suck. We both have super fine thick hair, so she bought a bunch of big plastic clips to go with them that work much better! I did your roller pattern and it looks amazing! Thank you Brad! Love your videos 😘😘
Girl yes. Rollers are so awesome. I use them all the time. I have super short hair (like above my chin) and its the only way I can get curly hair. To me, it works better than a curling iron and takes less time. Plus you can let it sit while doing your makeup. Its a win/win!
Yesss I always rough dry and use rollers and it's become my favorite way to style my hair, since it's very straight and fine otherwise. I look kinds funny with all the rollers in but looks good and the volume lasts days so worth it!

if yall actually think that they're for grannies... all i have to say is what the fuck 😂 the only reason rags and rollers went outta 'style' is cause straighteners, curling wands etc were invented.
Awww this makes me so reminiscent. My Mimi loved her rollers she had obscenely kinky curls and she would roll her hair then straighten it and my Pappy used to call them her Christmas decorations
Brad, thank you for bringing the rollers back. I used to get up at 4:30am back in high school just so I could use the rollers, apply makeup and dress for the day. I just love rollers so much! They make you feel so glamorous!

I would need 5 of those roller sets for all of my hair!
Mine is so long.. I wish I could get it all up in rollers.
Shahalis Wilson they have rollers in very different sizes, big ones are great for long hair!
I’m the opposite I probably only need 5 rollers for all of my head
Now I want rollers. 😥
Yeah- I use two sets
For those of you who don't really want to hear Brad talk about his product for 6 minutes and then do a basic rough blow dry (I dunno why you wouldn't, but whatever) Curlers start at 6:31.
“I wanted to show you guys you don’t have to use expensive tools to get a good look.” *You just used a $400 hairdryer.* 🤣
I mean
Just about any hairdryer will do the trick 🤷♀️
An affordable hairdryer does the same exact thing.
You aware 400$ hairdryer and regular hairdryer does the same thing right? Expensive dryers have more power and weight less, they make a pros life better cause they need to do 10+ blowouts a day, not because they give better result.
They have $15 hair dryers
@@taritangeo4948 idk my dyson blows away my crappy old conair
I'm a 90's girl & I would use rollers all the time! ... on occasion I will still use mine :)
Oh and P.S....the color is absolutely beautiful!!!
“It’s giving me that beautiful body I’m looking for.” Does anyone else find this funnily ironic since she’s just a head? No? Okay.
LOL 😂
When I was in cosmetology school I always had my mannequin heads in my car so when we can me and my girlfriend are going out to the bar and these guys were kind of following that we roll the window down and reset hey do you guys want some head and they said yeah so we showed them the two mannequin heads in the car and we are all cracking up
@@bethlovett7612 oh my gosh!!? That's funny!! Fun!!!🤣😁
My mom was a beauty queen in high school and to this day rollers are still her go-to.
Roller are a boys best friend too, but I do a wet set. Sleep in them, and wake up looking amazing. It just take so long cause I'm rolling them myself!
great idea!
How do you get the back? I literally always just wear a ponytail bc I can't do ANYTHING to the back of my hair.
@@SshhhTrouble do the front first, and you should have a decent feel for how to do them. Then it is just up to the length of your arms. My hair is slightly too long for me to comfortably do rollers by myself, I have tried.
The fact that the client is always looking for the viewfinder is very

HAHAHA YES!!

Your literally stealing my spotlight and it’s rude😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
Hey I subbed
Thank you for making things more simple for me to understand. I have tried rollers before and failed, but now I know what to do. Also, I watched another video of yours on how to curl hair with a straight iron. Now I know exactly what to do(other videos made things too complicated). Also, you seem kind, genuine and fun. I am subscribing.
Me: I like to keep my screens warm tone so they’re easier on the eyes
Brads shirt: *exists*
My retinas: (🔥) (🔥)
Screens warm so they are easier on the eyes, what?
Stettafire you can set your screens so they have like a slightly yellowish tone to them, standard screens emit a lot of blue light which is super harsh on the eyes so it’s good for you to have it on that setting particularly before bed! :)
Stettafire I think it’s literally called night time mode or something
@@Stettafire there's an app I use called Twilight with gives the screen a red tint, you can turn it on and off, and it helps with sleeping because blue light keeps you awake.
I understand it as something like this (please take what I'm saying here with a grain of salt, it's just how I explain it, I'm not a scientist, nor have I researched this) : The sky is blue during the day and your mind thinks it's day, and if you have blue light coming out of your phone it tricks your mind into it being day. Also blue light is just harsher or stronger.
Yeah, warm colour I understand. But warm screens? Made it sound like when you used to have to wait for an old CRT to heat up:P
Why do i find Brad doing hair so relaxing? No joke i would fall asleep if he played with my hair 😍

Omg he called her simply nailogical instead of snailogical, yay
Edit: thanks so much for the likes ☺️
probably because we all commented about how irritating and disrespectful he was. I would have liked a comment or apology from him.

Alana Becker probably because simply starts with an S & nailogical, but just a guess. I don’t really watch him so I wouldn’t know.

9:54 he says the rollers are blue. Anyone else think they're purple? Or am I color blind?
briana jo althoff they are purple
they are purple!!! i have the same roller set that ive been using for years💜
Fun fact, women and men actually see the color blue differently. But you’re so right, they are definitely purple! Lol
Men are more likely to be color blind( runs in my family). My dad was shopping for a lunch box for work and me and my siblings had to convince him the one he liked was in fact purple and not blue
Kaitlyn Davis but I’m a boy and I see purple too?!!🤔
Who else thinks the "product placements" of him talking about Glitteratti are pretty cute? He's so excited❤

I have 3b
What the hell is "curly hair type"? Is this something some people need to feel special?
It was until I was an adult that I realized my grandma knew her stuff, using rollers and pin curls before bed adds much needed volume to my hair as well as curls for my shorter hair to frame my face! My hair doesn't get as oily as fast and once you sleep with rollers regularly your hair begins to just naturally begins to adopt and get accustomed to the curls and volume! You can brush your curls out and not worry about losing your curls like with heated curling rods. It's much more worth it to be patient and just learn how to sleep with the rollers and pins and get a silk or satin bonnet 😊
But doesn't sleeping with rollers hurts the scalp??💔💔💔
@@renosenpai it depends on the rollers, I definitely don't do the hard plastic ones and now that I've cut my hair I do pin curls instead which is more comfortable since it doesn't pull at the scalp as much and more comfortable while sleeping since the curls lie flat while in the pins, so you might have better luck with pins instead of rollers! Rag tie curls also are very comfy (also cheap to do since you just need strips of fabric)
Hi Brad! Can you do a video about curls/curly hair only? Just a informative video about styling it, maintenance and such. 🤟
Yessssssss and explain the different types of curls

Brad... you’re always happy when you talk about hair (unless that is bad hair decisions).
Literally Stopped In The Middle Of One Of Your Other Videos To Watch This One 😂💛
Can you please do anti-frizz tips for curly girls who live in high humidity?! ♥
Yo that would be a great idea! Florida humidity does not love my hair so knowing more tips would be so very awsome!
I just discovered Marc Jacob's curl creme and it's amazing against curly frizz! It's cheap too, I got it on Amazon

Vaness Apparaît
Try leaving the rollers in for as long as possible.
Have you tried curling the hair then clipping it up and hair spraying onve they're all clipped up and let it sit for a couple minutes or a wet set
Same it's so annoying !
Me: buy’s hot rollers bc I work at sally’s and they were on clearance
Brad: does 3 looks with cheap rollers
Me: HE READ MY MINDDDDDDDD 😭😍
i got a $25 set of hot rollers at walmart and i can never go back to a curling iron
*Is talking to a box*
You're stealing my spotlight and its rude.
Thanks for mentioning what not to do with super curly hair! I'd love to see some curly hair tutorials 💕
i have my moms old ass curlers from like 2000 and they work really good tbh
I got some at my parents place from my grandmother which still work, I am totes picking them up next time I'm around!
Me to 😂😂lol
I have had the same roller set for nearly twenty years. They still work great.
2000 is not old ass wth is wrong with y'all fetuses😭 Those were my teens and I'm 30. Old ass is like 40 years ago when it's about products. not merely 15. This isn't an iPhone.

@@ria_molly Shiiiiiiiiiit. I'm bitin the bullet. I'm officially sold.
Girl yes. Rollers are so awesome. I use them all the time. I have super short hair (like above my chin) and its the only way I can get curly hair. To me, it works better than a curling iron and takes less time. Plus you can let it sit while doing your makeup. Its a win/win!
I’ve been WAITING for this video!! Time to pull my rollers out! 💖
Yesss I always rough dry and use rollers and it's become my favorite way to style my hair, since it's very straight and fine otherwise. I look kinds funny with all the rollers in but looks good and the volume lasts days so worth it!

if yall actually think that they're for grannies... all i have to say is
what the fuck 😂
the only reason rags and rollers went outta 'style' is cause straighteners, curling wands etc were invented.
Lol when all the girls at school were straightening their hair to death, my mom was putting old school hot curlers in my hair.
Rollers are my whole life because curling iron terrifies me lol
I don’t even use hot rollers I just sleep in them then blow dry over it in the morning so awesome
The younger people are, the more they think everything has just been invented or improved. Sometimes it’s true, but not always.
Awww this makes me so reminiscent. My Mimi loved her rollers she had obscenely kinky curls and she would roll her hair then straighten it and my Pappy used to call them her Christmas decorations
