    when it comes to the processor used I guarantee if you put one of Samsung's phones with an Exynos chip in front of someone complaining about them and told them it had a Snapdragon chip in it they wouldn't even know the difference in performance. I think people just love to complain about things.

      @Hhhh22222-w 18 дней назад +17

      Not the perception of performance but perception of value, why are you paying extra for a device with a weaker chip even if the difference is not noticeable? At least with iPhones, all Apple devices have a flagship chip regardless of the device, what's stopping Samsung from putting a Snapdragon chip in a midrange or budget device? And why reserve it for their flagship devices?
      Same questions to Google.

    The main problem with this phone is pricing. In December 2023 you could buy an S23 for $700, an S23 FE for $399 or an A54 for $340. In December 2024 street price on the S24 is $720, the S24 FE is $650 and the A35 is $325. So last year’s FE was only $60 more than an A series while this year’s FE is only $70 less than an S. The S23 FE was a bit of a bargain while the S24 FE is overpriced and most people should just spend the extra $70 on the S24.

    • @imgettingold9407

    The only few differences that keep the s24fe a good option is it's camera. You can see Iqoo 13 having SD Elite chip or vivo v40pro being camera focussed with larger battery but their cameras are jittery, and can't capture smooth videos with good stabilisation. That's where this phones comes in (BTW in India the 256 gb variant currently costs 608$ close to it's real competitors) it has good performance with Samsung ai features, better pictures much better videos with Samsung ui. so though compromising on battery and screen quality a bit, it's easily covered by it's camera specially for light - medium users.

    11:40 ?? Excuse me, "many of the others"?? Mate what are you yapping about? What others? Xiaomi crammed a 4600 mah battery in the small Xiaomi 14 when Samsung only managed a 4000 mah battery on the S23. And this year most have shifted to SiC batteries allowing for huge battery sizes in tiny bodies - Vivo X200 Mini is packing a whopping 5600 mah cell while the Xiaomi 15 is packing 5400 mah. Phones that are the size of the S24 FE from other brands usually pack 5000 mah batteries at the "minimum". And bdw they come with fast chargers out of the box and usually charge up in 30 mins.

    • @TechDaily
      @TechDaily  11 дней назад +1

      Look, I told you all I do is yap 😅 But let me be more specific: Samsung & Apple have seemingly given up on putting bigger batteries inside their phones with faster charging speeds. Here in the U.S., we don't have Xiaomi or Vivo or OPPO as competitors - and Samsung knows this - so it doesn't matter to them. Perhaps I should've said "as a U.S. customer, etc. etc." since the FE is probably more marketed in the U.S. based on this level (or lack thereof) of competition.

    It's a good phone that Samsung didn't need to release. The price is too high. £/$/€650 for 128GB is not competitive at all. I got mine for £390 here in the UK on ebay. At this price is not bad. Samsung needs to drop the 128GB base model on any phone without MicroSD card and sell the 256GB at a lower price.
    It also needs to release a lot less phones. Great review and analysis.

    You're missing the big part that not all people buy their phones outright. My mother just got this phone on contract for free. In my area you can't get that with any other S series or most A series now.

    • @TechDaily
      @TechDaily  11 дней назад

      I could make a whole video on contract deals, monthly discounts etc. - but the bottom line with that is you still pay for the phone over time, and you very rarely actually own the phone in the end. I'm a big proponent of buying something outright and then selling it a year or two later - or buying a 1 or 2 year old device second-hand. I get the idea of spending $5-$40/month, it's definitely appealing, but the lack of flexibility and the overall cost I think are overtly negatives.

    • @chm985
      @chm985 11 дней назад +1

      @TechDaily Yes but this was an outright own after 2 years. No money down and no monthly payments. Most decent phones are over $15 a month plus your plan(in my region) I think this phone is now $11/m. S24 is $20/month from the provider.

It still has a lot of features the main phones has without the cost. I don't need a 100x zoom to spy on people. It has fingerprint and face recognition, and the battery will last. As for charging, Samsung, Google, and Apple have agreed to use PD charging as the standard rather than proprietary charging as Chinese OEMs use. The EU advised this as it is less confusing for customers and less e-waste. That means that Samsung has to rely on the effectiveness of PD charging, and at the moment, 45 watts is the max, which is not sustainable, meaning 25 watts is not much slower. It is not Samsung's fault until we get the latest improved battery tech that charges cooler.

    • @2K-Tan
      @2K-Tan 10 дней назад +1

      I honestly think that Chinese faster charging stuff is somewhat overrated. Firstly it's all proprietary like you said, until something better than Lithium Ion isn't the standard anymore than I don't really want anything above 25 - 45 W anyway because while faster charging is always convenient in a pinch, I really can't imagine it's that good for battery longevity if you used it frequently instead of charging slower.
      To me that's where 25 - 45W "Fast Charging" is the sweetspot honestly. Much faster than a standard charger, but not so fast that it sucks all the longevity out of your battery, but this is just my opinion. I know those Chinese phones claim to have adaptive technologies to help that, but I don't know how much they could really help when some of them are pushing 80 - 90+W through the dang thing.

    For me what samsung would do is to push the upgrades to their A55's series, their high-end midrange phones. Because a lot of midrange phones from other brands are on top of their game. The S24 FE aslo good but as a more higher midranger close to flagship, it's quite expensive. I'm leaning towards to their high-end A series as it is more valuable and make sense to buy that an FE. And that micro SD card slot is also a huge plus from the A series, than just stuck with the maximum 256gb. I really wish Samsung push their high-end A series to the next level of performance.

    I'm p certain that the prices of both last year's and this year's FEs will sink so low they'll be fierce competitors to all the A Series out there, regardless of old and new lol no need to panick 😅
    Everyone knows either variant of S23FE is faster than whatever they put inside A55 so it's a quite reasonable tactic to skip that in some markets. And now we have S24FE that has the same chip as the S24s that came out in February instead of a chip from 2 years ago (counting from now). S24FE Exynos is a 2-year jump from the one in its direct predecessor and it's gonna be fighting the odds of A56 in 2025. IMO Samsung has refined its upper-midrange so well the A90 5G days are long over. And still their not-so-refined upper midrange FE phones (and even old flagships) have sunk to all time lows as their _current_ A1x and A2x price range. If I had no phone I'd pay like a hundred or a hundred fifty for an S21FE just because it has wired and wireless DeX and 15W wireless charging. I'll use it like an old iPhone and buy a MagSafe case and power bank and a dongle too 😂
